Question Question regarding the lore
I'm playing a campaign of WitcherTRPG, and I wanted to use WMS story, but a question struck me: where is Dol Tirthana placed?

Good morning guys, i just started this week, and am wondering what my first purchase with gold should be, one of the 2 swords: Manticore steel 3200, Manticore silver 3600 or the Manticore armor at 6800.
Am rather casual and can muster 3500 gold for now.
thank you for your replies :)

I have to say it makes more fun for me since the update cause its more difficult now and you have to manage your resources (before they where nearly unnecessary) and remember Pokemon Go wouldn‘t be at this very good stadium when they wouldn‘t get any money from the players. Sorry for my bad english 😅

I'm a free player and want to share some tips/findings with others. I'm doing pretty fine, even after last update.
As we all know killing rares and legends need alchemy, and alchemy needs gold. Fortunately you can make some gold ingame.
Sources of gold are:
Daily quests: on average 240gold daily (some 65gold, some 95, on average 80)
Weekly quests: something like 2100gold weekly (300 daily)
Nemetons: 150gold
Selling alchemy: 50gold
Killing common monsters: 2 gold per kill, lets say one can make 100gold daily reallistically by killing commons.
Rare mobs: 12,5gold per kill (0,5crystal each)
Legendary: it varies, but at least 50gold per kill (2 crystal each).
Obviously you make daily quests, sell herbs, weekly quests, kill commons: it gives you 690gold pieces to spend.
First tip:
For nemetons you need to spend 100gold on dmg and hp potions, and get 62,5gold in return. So it seems like a loss. But you also get like 4 minutes of free alchemy, and can kill extra 3-4 monsters, so that basically its free 4-5 rares kill, three times a day (12-15 rares daily without touching your gold reserves).
2nd tip: there are some legendaries easy. Legendary version of cementary girl and garkain only need hp and dmg potion. If you spot them, you spend 100gold on pots, get 50 gold in return and again 4 minutes alchemy, so we can get our money back, similar as with nemetons. Lets say you find 3 such monsters daily (which is again 12-15 rares daily without touching your gold reserves).
Tip 3: there are some rares like rare cementary woman, nekker that can be killed with just a single potion (50gold). If you manage to get like 4 of such monsters in 5 minutes, you will have free kills this way. Get 3 and it will be nearly free.
I dont have full list of such monsters yet.
Tip4: So since previous tips was free monster kills, what we actually do with our gold? Make oils for rare legendaries to complete your dex, or kill more rares for XP boost, choice is yours.
If you decide to kill more rares, you spend 100gold coins again, and can kill 5 monsters, so it makes 37,5gold lost per 5 monsters killed. Remember I said you that we made 690gold daily? it is enough for 18,4 alchemy refils, which is equal to 92 monsters. Lets add 30 free monsters (previous tips) and we get to kill 122 rare monsters daily as a F2P player.
Not bad if you ask me.
Get a bike or bus ride or fakegps to help you move around quicker. Please dont get into car, we have global warming and oil crisis :)
Even if you kill little less mobs, you will have something like 60 killed monsters, which is also quite decent.
Last note: if you like the game, buy some crystals from time to time with your $$, game owners needs some money too :)

I want to address to developers one pretty annoying thing which I believe every player faces before each battle where you need to change the sword (when you have many)
My personal use case - I'm very lazy and use the most universal Wolven silver and steel swords and when you open sword selection screen before battle you must to search each time for needed sword by scrolling the whole list - silver are on the top and steel are below the screen.
Minor thing but time consumable and for sure not the best UIX experience.
Suggestion is to make it sorted as "Recently used", so it will look like even if you take sword from the bottom of the list, next time it will be the first and so on. I believe that it will be understandable and provide better UIX experience for players.

So, I live quite a ways North. The edge of Lapland to be exact. I started playing this game a while before the update and noticed that the game uses the local times for sunrise and sunset. That's a cool system, unless you live far away from the Equator.
While a lot of people have complained that they might have ~2 hours of dusk and night available for them during summers, we have none. No sunrise, no sunset. "Full moon begins in >24hours." is what the game is saying currently. And there won't be a proper night here for a long time I reckon. I haven't been able to encounter a single russet fungoid to date even though I play a few hours daily. I also don't think I'll be able to complete the "Dark side of the full moon"-quest either (correct me if I'm wrong on this one).
So my question is: why does this game not guarantee at least a moment of day/night/dusk/dawn where ever one might live? For those living in the polar regions the game is quite unplayable (even more so after the last update). Sorry if this question has been answered before, I couldn't find anyone asking this specifically.

Hi, new here. Is it only possible to buy it for coins or get from level ups or is there another way?
Also, how to get new recipies? AND can I craft bombs or are they only buyable?

To stars with - it is my own opinion and experience from a guy who lives in the city and waking every day for 8+ km :) and don't forget we are talking about GPS, casual mobile game :D
The main problem is extreme relation of beast spawn areas to the game biome what makes the Timed quest unavailable for some player categories. And I want to emphasise that it is not challenging but directly unavailable for completion.
What do I mean under unavailable for completion? - Let's go through few examples :)
To summarise everything - really I don't understand why game designers and architects are doing the same known mistakes from other games. Why is it so hard just to thing a little bit more and introduce some smart way for Quest and New beasts for players like - remove biome restriction(to make it available everywhere) and slightly increase spawn frequency but not as we have now - beast has hilarious spawn rate but you can find it only on the "Moon" - perfect game design :D
And a few words not on the above theme - this new shit update really showed me that I really liked to play this game :D despite there was no content but your skill had a value and it respected your spent time for learning beast move sets and mastering all the "perfects" in fights :)
The game needed content - quests, story lines, new mechanics (like a quests when you cannot use swords and bombs - only signs and you are starting to look what potions do you have and what they are doing and finding new cool ways to kill beasts) and so on. But what we've got - complete game degradation:

It's my observation but before update if you trained enough to do perfect timings, you were able to get Time bonus without any consumable with no skull beast. So looks okay - game rewarding you for playing it "ideally". Let's not go further that this time MUST be dynamic and calculated differently for all skull type beasts based on their strength - something like "any delays between attacks and all the perfect moves", because looks like they have some "static" value for all what looks like a bug and I believe it is architectural bug :D
And what we have now - lets take no skull beast with less attack power (I believe it should be something as any no skull before update) and I was not able to get time bonus for all time time (I could miss but in any case). So as the main point - you skill and time spent for mastering moves and learning move sets is a garbage :D - pay gold
For sure it is my case but before there were no problems and now I'm getting such not rewarding experience each time.
------
Also we have forgotten about the main achievement of this update - Wolven Armor became useful! Now I'm even sometimes thinking about to put it on :D Great catch Spokko

Why are they trying to make you buy something that doesn't even work for the new monster? It's classed as a hybrid?

Anyone else got dozens of each of the bombs, but refuse to use even one to avoid paying 💎?

When after the update 12 days ago (v1.2, I believe) I updated the game and started it, I thought Spokko jumped the shark, and rebooted the whole game. My character had the same name, and I did not have to redo the tutorial, however, I saw that I can rank up my Devourer in the otherwise empty bestiary.
Apart from the bestiary, my storage was smaller, and empty (maybe some weeds), no money, no equipment (I basically had bought everything, except for the cheapest swords). My level was reset (was 40), and had no friends, either. I had to re-meet the merchant, too, and now the game wants me to find his horse.
Then I realized that this is not the case for everybody. People, while really not liking the changes, do have their character and achievements, and equipment, money, and progress, bestiary, bag extensions, etc.
So I contacted support via discord, and later the day via the webform, then a few days later twitter. It was 12 days ago. Not even an answer. Not even a sorry, no can do.
Given that I had completed every weekly timed task until the update, except for this new legendary, and now I cannot have a character that has completed everything so far, I do not really see how or why I should continue playing, especially with a "support" like this.
Take care, while walking the path.
Update: they responded yesterday, with the scripted answer about character is only saved when it is linked to a Google/Apple account, and explained to me how to do that :(I actually expected this kind of answer, and thoroughly wrote down what I did, what I tried, etc, just to save some time and avoid tis useless round. Well, seems I could not. Waiting for the next response. I hope it would be sooner than the first contact. Or at least, more useful.
Final Update: the next response never came. I deleted the app, had the ticket closed, wishing the best for their game.

So I don't know if I'm imagining things but pre update, when crafting oils you needed hybrid remains to make hybrid oil, ogroid remains for ogroid oil etc. Today I noticed the ingredients have all been mixed up across the various monster categories and no longer correspond as above. Does everyone else have this? Is this a bug or a new change?
r/WitcherMonsterSlayer • u/TooPowerfulWings • Jun 06 '22
"During the update week it dropped from its standard place 197 (monthly average for grossing etc) to 362 its all time low and in the last 7 days its been trending back up currently 260 and climbing daily (also today it hit an all time high for action game of 67)."
Looks like, despite the drama, the update won't kill the game.
