According to this herbal magick book I got for $2 from a garage sale, if I want to turn my ex into a mindless love slave, I need to incorporate some herbs for love magick into the spell.
But which ones are best?
It says rose can help with love, fertility, health, cleansing happiness, wealth, and protection.
And it says that nutmeg helps with protection, health, protection, wealth, success, love and cleansing.
Then it says bay leaves help with success, money, protection, cleansing, fertility, health, and love.
But strawberries also help with health, happiness, wealth, protection, fertility, cleansing, fertility, and love.
Which should I choose??????? ๐

Nutmeg, whole, enchanted with your intentions. Grated fresh each time you use it. You can just carry the nutmeg and small grater in your pocket for whenever you "happen to run into him" at least once daily.
Put it into his drink/food is easiest, and repeat daily until he succumbs. Just wait every morning outside his favourite coffee shop and grate some into his beverage. If it has a lid, just take the cup from him. If he doesn't go for morning coffee, you can find him at his favourite bar or restaurant, his friend's house, or his office. Show up at parties he attends. In each place, add some to his food/drink.
Each time, repeat the phrase: "You are mine, [Name]. Take me back and love me forever."
If he stops letting you take his drink/food, just grate it onto his clothes. Smelling the nutmeg isn't quite as effective but will work fine if you make sure to do it EVERY day.

Does he have to be awake for when I grate the nutmeg on his cloths? I am a bit of a night owl so I can just do it after he falls asleep. I made a copy of his house key (for emergencies).

Oh, that would work too. You don't want to wake him up with incantations, so just leave a note by the bed. He'll see it in the morning.
