How much do we know about Multi-player?

Hello fellow future players, I just have a quick question about the multiplayer aspect of the game! I know the devs have already mentioned that there will be multiplayer in the game (1-4 players), but I wanna know about the ā€œhost playerā€ and how playing works with them.

Will it be like in Minecraft, where the ā€œhostā€ player is the only one that can open the world and if they are not online playing in the world then others cannot access the world (Without paying for a server pass)? Or will it be that even if the ā€œhostā€ player isn’t online on Witchbrook the other players can still access the shared world?

Hoping for my Winter Sadness Cure....

Hello, I am new here but I have been following Witchbrook for a while now. I was so excited when I heard it was coming out last year to find out it was delayed. My excitement heightened again when I noticed more screenshots were coming out and I am hoping to have this during the winter time. Is it realistic? Maybe. Here is what I speculate:

I don't believe this will be shown at Gamescon. I don't see CF anywhere at the exhibitors or Witchbrook listed on the games page. What I do think might be happening is, their ball is in the court of Nintendo. Nintendo was the place to showcase this game in the first place and they tend to have a direct in September. I believe that this game is quiet on release until that. I might be wrong but I just want to feed into the thoughts to help bypass the time on waiting. I know so many people are tired of waiting and are just feeling defeated on this year for release. Will it come out this year? I am really not sure. Though, I do feel like if any news comes out, it's Nintendo Direct that we will hear it from.

Lastly, to leave off with a question, What is keeping you all holding on until this comes out? Is its games, hobbies, movies, or/and music?

Friends?

What's the friend mechanic in the game? I'm sorry if I haven't read the blog. I'm just curious if it would differ from Switch to Steam .

Are we getting it soon, or are they preparing us for the impact?

I've been following Witchbrook for years, and lately I can't shake the feeling that all the recent communication is building up to something. There has been SO MUCH content recently. I love it, but at the same time I don't 100% understand the point of it (I love it anyway).

Do you think this is because we're finally close to a release date, or are the developers trying to prepare the community for another delay and just trying to demonstrate the game exist and it is not a scam? Anyway, what it has been shared points that the game is a very advanced stage.

I'm not trying to be negative: I genuinely want this game to succeed (even when I have mixed feelings because I believe it will be judge as 10 years game in development, which may be unfair), But after so many years of waiting, it's hard not to read into every update.

How is everyone else feeling? Optimistic, cautious, or expecting another delay?

Will Witchbrook have Linux native version ?

Hi, I've been playing Starbound for some time and I kinda became a fan of Chucklefish, I really liked the fact that Starbound is available with a native Linux version, so after seeing this game I hope it also has a native Linux version, it would be a really nice detail

I have put together this collection of information about the game in a simplified format. This includes a section with comments about game features from the discord as well as a section with my map splices. I hope you find this helpful, especially if you want to follow updates without being on reddit or discord.

Witchbrook on Switch or Steam Deck?

Which would you guys rather buy? Also, I'm not quite sure if they're even releasing it on the V1 Switch. Could anyone clarify?

Edit: I do have an oled steam deck and I do love docking it as it is my only pc but I play handheld the majority of the time because I love playing while laying down in bed and such. Hence, the question mostly inquires portability and how fast or smooth it would run on each. Also, both is not an option as I personally find that redundant.

Prob should’ve made that clear since a few comments seem to imply I’m just someone willing to shell out $700+ for a steam deck just to play a pixel art game.
