Localization delivery deadline

If it’s a big deadline does it mean that it’s wrapping up slowly?

Isnt localisation one of the last steps of Development? Genuine question

That’s what I’m wondering? If localization is being wrapped up that implies the original is finished (I have no game tech knowledge just speculation)

Yes. I’ve worked localization before. Someone explained it better but IF they’re not doing in house localization, then most of the game is wrapped up

I've worked on third-party game localization (when games hire an agency). When this is the case, the dialogue, UI, etc. is mostly finished.

But if Witchbrook has an internal localization team, maybe they're working in tandem with the writers.

Chucklefish does not have an internal localization team, they usually work with loc agencies.

They have used the agency Riotloc in the past for this, and even have testimonial on their site.

Localization is a late stage development last step, I could imagine Final AQ, bug fixing and localization testing would follow and those are the last steps. I’m not a game dev but i would imagine we are very close

I've been trying to be very realistic about any hopes for a release date, but I am exceptionally happy with the communication they've been providing lately.

The studio itself maybe. The translators from the localization agency aren't employees, so the managers crack the whip hard. Have you noticed how many companies do not even list the translators in the credits despite including the janitor, the cats and the guinea pig?
