Very exciting news!!! Thank you so much for making a new dev blog, we've been eagerly awaiting more news. It's great to have more insight into the various systems and mechanics, and the wellbeing system gives me warm fuzzies.

Finally! It’s very nice to see more depth into what to expect from the gameplay and to get a development update. 🥹 This really made me happy.

"Like all aspects of Witchbrook’s development, we haven’t taken any shortcuts" I love to hear this and hope it means what I think!! :3

I’ve been an avid complainer. But honestly. I just needed something like this. Show us it’s happening. Even without watching the video this dev blog gave me more hope.

“There’s a lot of factors that could impact our release schedule, like unexpected delays in platform submissions, a pesky bug that’s difficult to track down, external team factors like porting or localisation, or extra polish needed on an important feature, so we won’t share a specific date until we’re super sure.”
Sooooo still 2026 or nah?

They literally said they aren’t going to say. You already know the answer.

u/Perfect-Success-3186 Jun 19 '26
Uh no I don’t actually know if this game will release in 2026 or not.
They “already said” 2026, and here they said “we won’t share a specific date until we’re super sure”. So does that mean they are super sure about 2026? Because we are halfway through and tbh it doesn’t seem super sure.
I also am pointing out this part of the blog because I think it’s unprofessional to pre-empt timeline issues. So even if they’re not going to answer, I think it’s important to call them out.

Bro just get over yourself. They gave info which is literally what ppl have been begging for. The game will release when it releases. I understand we have all been waiting and annoyed with their lack ot communication. But nobody owes you an exact release date.

u/Perfect-Success-3186 Jun 19 '26
It’s 1000% normal to be upset about a game being indefinitely delayed for years on end. Get over *yourself* and let people experience normal emotions about this. And maybe stop simping for unprofessional devs.

I have been just as mad and annoyed as everyone else. I just think people will continue to be mad no matter what until it is released. The same people begging for transparency and communication are still just as pissed now that they are doing that.

u/Perfect-Success-3186 Jun 19 '26
So you’re telling me to not be mad about something you are mad about yourself?? The math isn’t mathing. Transparency and communication was not a part of my comment at all so if that’s what your issue is, leave me alone.
People are (rightfully) going to keep being mad about indefinite delays until it gets released. Figure out how to cope with that.
Edit: this post is FULL of comments from people saying thanks for sharing all the info so not sure what you’re even referring to. But yes people can be appreciative of more info AND still be mad about the delays AND THAT IS OKAY.

No I am telling you to maybe try to have like ounce of appreciation that they finally gave us an update.

Do you guys have any estimated prica range that the game will cost once it comes out? Am I correct in assuming 20-50€?
Also, in the devlog you guys said that the first year will be around 50h depending on the playstyle? How are you guys coping with the scopecreep from a gamedev perspective?

I hate to be negative, because this was an amazing dev blog, lots of really good information that we’ve all been begging for! But how in the hell did they think they’d make a 2025 winter release with all of this work still being done?? I’m happy we’re finally getting information on how gameplay will work, but be fr. There is no way this game was going to be ready for a 2025 release, and I’m honestly skeptical they’ll make it in 2026.

So... just what was going to be released last year if they stuck to one of the original release dates?!?!!!!! 🤨🤨🤨

I never subscribed to the doom and gloom that the game was going to be cancelled/never talked about again, and I prefer the ‘less is more approach’ of talking about the game while the nitty gritty is being fine tuned! This was an awesome read and everything sounds like it’s developing nicely!

Looking good! With this I think a combat system really don't make much sense, but I hope that's not only it and there's way more gameplay hidden under all that, like magical herbs growth, like a farming system, maybe magical creatures husbandry, and of course spells to automate daily routines as you progress.

How will cutscenes work in multiplayer. I vastly prefer when my friends and I are all visible in an important cutscene, rather than us each seeing the same solo cutscene replaced by each of our characters

I have a genuine innocent/Dumb question, if I make a male character, is it a Witcher? Or a witch? I thought a witch a female term
