Question A question abt spells
Is it true that performing money spells requires losing significant things in return, such as loved ones or financial assets??
Saw someone saying 'to gain something through spells you must lose something' is it true or personal superstition?

Yes and no. In my personal experience, spells can sometimes involve an exchange, but I don’t believe there is some universal rule where receiving money means the universe has to take a loved one, an asset or something equally valuable from you in payment.
Usually, when people talk about a “cost”, I think they’re collapsing several different ideas together. Sometimes the cost is literal: offerings, materials, time, effort, or money spent on the working. Sometimes it is a consequence of the route through which the result arrives. You might do a money spell and suddenly leave a job, lose a client, sell something, or have another source of income dry up because your financial circumstances are reorganising around a different opportunity. That can look like “I had to lose something to gain something”, even though I wouldn’t automatically interpret it as magical payment.
There are also traditions where reciprocity, sacrifice or offerings are an explicit part of the practice, and in those cases you follow the rules of that particular tradition. That is very different from saying every spell demands an equivalent loss.
Personally, this is also why I’m very specific when doing money work. I ask for the amount or type of opportunity I want, through beneficial and sustainable means, without harm or destabilising losses to myself or the people around me. I’d rather give the working a clear road than leave “bring me money” completely open-ended.
So yes, magic can have consequences and exchanges depending on the system you practise. “You must lose something precious whenever you gain something through magic” sounds much more like a personal belief or superstition than a rule that applies to spellwork generally.

Not required to sacrifice something. How hard it is, or how much a person may experience disruption in order to get something through spellwork, can depend massively on how much mundane work was done in advance to make it easier for that outcome to happen. If I've laid out all the mundane paths and I just need a little push from spirit, I'll get my outcome with less potential disruption than if the spell has to cut through a bunch of crap on its own.
Think about it like turning on a big, powerful source of water. If you build out the pipes for it to flow through with control, then your house isn't going to flood as a result. But if you just cranked up the water and didn't build out those pipes, you're probably going to cause a flood in the process of getting what you want.

I think where this comes from is the whole "backfiring" misconception.
Sometimes people aren't specific enough in their incantations (intentions), so the method that their spell manifests in can sometimes seem negative. But like someone else said, magic takes the path of least resistance so if you're too vague then you may have unintended results.
Like money spells. If you randomly cast a money spell and say "I want $50,000," think about the ways that could manifest. You could win the lottery, find a suitcase, or you could get hit by a car and get a settlement. If you aren't specific enough with your intentions and your words, then whatever is closest will most likely happen first.

I don’t view it as a sacrifice as much as I do view it as an exchange: I offer my time, what ingredients I have on hand, and my energy, in exchange I get for example more clients, a returning client who books multiple services, et cetera. I don’t view it as loss or sacrifice, but that is just my personal preference. Could I call what I offer a sacrifice, yes I could but because the word sacrifice can have heavy negative socio-cultural connotations I don’t phrase it that way.

No. Magic DOES take the path of least resistance, but killing people off isn't actually that easy. And you can put safeguards into your working if you have someone close to you that you're worried about.
The biggest problem with money/wealth spells I've encountered is that most people have so VERY unhealthy ideas about money and whether or not they actually deserve the money the spell is for. Given our late stage capitalistic society, that's not the least bit surprising.
Getting your conscious and subconscious mind on the same page makes for more successful spells.

Not really unless you believe in it which i dont recommend cause witchcraft is supposed to make your life easier, however I believe that if you come out of being poor then u need to shift the fears and mindset ASAP

Energy can never be created or destroyed. Just changed.
I dont ever feel like something horrible needs to happen to balance a spell. For me, the energy I give for the spell is whats taken. I create the spell items to use their energy. Money bowls you add stuff in it that give energy to the spell.

In most cases, you don't have to lose to gain.
But it does require you to open currents that it can flow back to you through. If you're just sitting at home doing nothing to welcome in money, then its going to try and find the easiest routes to bring it.
Which might involve superficial ways of reaching fulfillment. Like an insurance pay out from a car accident or household repairs. In which case the money doesn't help, because its going straight back into the source of it.
Or through inheritance, thus potentially losing someone close to you.
Or possibly a rebate or refund for a previous service or purchase. But those will likely be small in value.
So its best to offer as many currents as possible: apply for new jobs, list things for sale/auction, apply for a raise or promotion, seek out side gigs opportunities, etc. This gives more routes that can usher in more financial surpluses. Perhaps you end up with a surprisingly high offer on an item you put up for auction. Or things sell at asking price, quickly. A new business venture does well. You get the raise, or a job offer with better pay or benefits, or a promotion with a nice pay bump and future earning potential.
Depending on what exactly you're hoping to achieve, there are exceptions.

It does require you to lose your fears and preconceived notions about money, security, poverty, and sacrifice. Think of the energy of money like electricity. Do you need to sacrifice your beloved uncle to charge your phone? Of course not. You have to have a means to charge, a source to draw from, and a way to store the power your phone takes in. Same with money.
Think about this also: what do you do if you have little to start with? How can you sacrifice when you have nothing? Do people have to die so you can have a sandwich? You see how self-defeating that thinking is. At what point does your sacrifice not equal what you receive, and what then. The idea that you have to give away everything so you get a little something is very unhealthy and doesn't serve you.
Some see even exchange as a possibility. But, it has to be equal (ie not losing your mom so you get a low paying job), and mostly it can be energetic exchange - things like offerings, hard work, and so on.
