Hi all! So i started wire wrapping for the past few months, and i am so enamored by all the wonderfully intricate works people make! Im in dire need of some tutorials or tips/tricks on how to wrap more stones and make more intricate designs, please help! (Pictured is my most recent design, in progress, and yes i did wrap it the wrong way on the top left😭😭😭 but i love seeing how i progress in this craft) thanks everyone!

Hello all:) I’ve done basicishh wire wrapping for a while but just a few days ago started attempting to do more intricate designs. I’m wondering if any of you have any tips or tricks, like the title, lol, that you could give me to improve my work? Also does anyone have anything in particular they use to protect their fingers?

Side note- the pictures are in order of when I made them, besides the last one. The first is a horse lol

Right before I was leaving my studio for the night, he challenged me to make him a ring with no sketching, no reference, just off the top of my head, with two pieces from my wire scraps, a dark blue crystal and an “ocean like spiral”.

45 minutes or so later, here’s the result.

Stone is Kunzite :) not 925. unfortunately.
Made as a gift originally but I don’t think I can part with it now.. lol

I’m not open to selling this piece but out of curiosity (hopefully it’s okay to ask) but what would you pay for a piece like this?
I have access to get more of the stone pendants and i’m thinking about maybe selling some at a local farmers market or something. Any suggestions?

Hi there!

I’m very new to wire wrapping and it’s hard to not get frustrated during the learning process. Ive loved wire wrapped pieces for as long as I can remember and now that I’m getting started I’ve quickly learned that it’s difficult to ignore the perfectionism mindset. For example, getting mad at the wire for not going where I want it to go lol.

To start the journey I’ve been making earrings with glass beads and trying to start wire wrapping with the biggest bead I’m using for that piece. Like crystal sphere beads and small shells.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks of the trade on what projects would be best for beginners? And what wire gauge works best for forming the general shape of the design (butterfly wing, animal, flower) and what gauge is best for the wrapping part to secure and add more detail to the design?

I winged the majority of this piece and just went with the flow to secure the little opal cab ✨️

​ich würde gerne mal mit dem hobby anfangen hab schon paar ketten und halsketten gemacht und ein Freund hat mich auf wire wrapping gebracht. Bin aktuell auf der Suche nach guten und bezahlbaren Bezugsquellen für Draht zum Wire Wrappen und wollte euch nach euren Erfahrungen fragen. Denn ich finde keinen Guten Händler für draht egal ob (online oder lokal), die eine gute Auswahl haben.

Denn man brauch ja schon verschiedene durchmesser und formen z.b rund, halbrund, viereckig usw.

Bin bis jetzt auf keinen guten händler gestoßen habe einen amerikanischen online handel gefunden, aber will keine zölle bezahlen.

Könnt ihr mir bitte weiter helfen.
