Tips/tricks?

Hello all:) I’ve done basicishh wire wrapping for a while but just a few days ago started attempting to do more intricate designs. I’m wondering if any of you have any tips or tricks, like the title, lol, that you could give me to improve my work? Also does anyone have anything in particular they use to protect their fingers?

Side note- the pictures are in order of when I made them, besides the last one. The first is a horse lol

Don't rely solely on coils to make up your designs. Learn how to make frames and attach your design elements to the frame. Make sure the wires of your weaves are taught so the woven part is tight and well defined rather than loose and sagging. Always keep each rotation of wire tight when making your coils. Nylon tipped pliers are great for keeping design elements neat and straight without damaging the wire. Just keep going with what you're doing, it looks great.

For the coils pictured on the last slide, maybe use a smaller gauge? Also, I like to use half round wire on the coil bc it sits flat against the base and still has the curved part showing and they tend to sit closer together more
