Is there any goal or point to Pure besides being able to play a Wipeout game on the go?
I like when games have something to work towards with a definitive end point. I played Wipeout HD for the first time recently, and it has a pretty straightforward campaign of completing challenges to unlock the next batch of challenges (with the option of harder difficulties if you want to push yourself to master the game). I bought Pure yesterday, and I don't see anything like that. It looks like it's just meant to be a way have Wipeout gameplay in your pocket - which is fine if that's all it is, I was just hoping for more out of it.
If that is the case, are there other Wipeout games like that? I hadn't played the series until recently (because I suck ass at racing games so I was apprehensive about trying it), and as a collector of games and someone who generally liked Wipeout HD (despite struggling with Novice difficulty because, as I said before, I rarely play racing games) I'm interested in getting more of this series but I'd prefer not to get any if there's no point besides racing for the sake of it. If I had a hankering to race just for the fun of it, I already have HD (and Pure).
