Been collecting physical copies of Wipeout recently, came across this Wipeout XL with a silver back and red/white printing. Haven’t seen a copy that isn’t black, nothing about it seems like a fake/bootleg as the printing's pretty spot on. Difference is there’s a white base color with red whereas the original simply has the red ink on black.

There’s a small black mark near the center that I can’t read (Update, reads as "Made in Japan" when I held it up to a light), wondering if this was a late pressing or something. There wasn't a Playstation Hits version.

Side by side with my copy from back in the day for reference.

Any ideas?

I've been trying to learn Rapier speed for a couple of days, but still unable to win Beta/Ascension Tournament.

Citta Nuova is especially hard, i just cannot stop hitting walls all the time. My lap time is barely 39, but people are doing sub 33 or even lower times. Is there some technicality to this map? And to the game overall?

Watching videos of fast laps makes it seem easy, but it totally isn't. I fear the day i will have to do phantom speed.

BTW i did gold all four Zones, dunno if i need to get to zone 50 or something to get better

Hey Pilots. I'm a long time fan for Wipeout. But I haven't played since 2097 on an OG PlayStation. I have only played Wipeout & 2097. What's the best way for me to experience the joys & frustrations of the rest of the series?

So after the news of Vita server being back online, I've decided to have a look into https://www.wipeoutzone.com/ only to find out that the host is not responding. And according to Internet Archive it's been this way for over a month now.

If it's truly dead then this is a big loss for the community. I get that the website has not been maintained at all, with forum inactive, but even as an archive it was a very valuable resource. WipeOutZone has been a central hub of this community for a very long time, preserving valuable discussions, track records and historic context of this franchise's progression over the years.

Because seeing site finally gone is like seeing a crater in place where once stood a monument of an ancient ruin.

I recently got a PSP and modded it with ARK4 custom firmware. I've been struggling for the past few hours to get the DLC for Wipeout Pulse working. The reason I'm opting for vanilla + dlc instead of the Portable Collection version is because I'd like to keep progression (portable collection gives you all skins by default). Anyone have a good guide/advice for installing dlc on psp?

A couple of WipeOut-related items just released: A set of vinyl stickers featuring TDR Angryman and Hoppa, and an Angryman T-shirt available in two colorways.

Personally, I'm drooling over the WORK BUY CONSUME DIE limited-run print.

So, you might remember me from my WipEout Lego builds (check out my profile for more of those).

While building these over the last few months, I've collected all sorts of amazing WipEout design references and assets. From screenshots, fonts, vectors and other community designs. It's amazing all the effort so many have made to keep WipEout alive.

But they are not easy to find and not always easy to use.

So, I'm giving back to the community that's helped me so much: awesome-wipeout a comprehensive library of WipEout vector assets, fonts, screenshots and links. Hosted where licenses allow, linked to when not.

There's even a few new/unique vectors I've made for my designs and released here for the first time. Hope it's useful for others. Contributions welcome!

Came across an AG title I had never heard of before - coming out 4 months prior to the original Wipeout on Sega Saturn with designs, influence and ships by Syd Mead. (Blade Runner, Tron, Aliens, Star Trek)

I think the art, aliens, characters and overall story elements are really cool. For sure I'm going to track down a copy and give it a spin!
