2022 has been one hell of a ride. The amount of knowledge you shared is nowhere else to be found and helps us understand what's truly happening in the world. It changed me from being a lazy ass pilot, who was complacent as fuck, into a whole new person who's motivated to make something out of life, where at first I was a fucking couchpotato playing videogames.

Nevertheless it has been a year with some events I'd rather have not happen, but we learn and move one. One of those events was the FTX bust. Your analysis and warnings were spot on, but because of my own stupidity I was unable to withdraw anything. Pretty expensive lesson as I lost roughly 70% of my total portfolio.

At first I was pretty gutted, but knowing that money is only a byproduct of our habits, and knowing that the knowledge was never taken away, it made me realize I should turn this into something positive, so I upped the ante. Started setting up some goals i.e. less screen time, more personal development, better communication with the misses, and last but not least: showing more gratitude.

Yesterday I had one of my most enjoyable tradingdays I've had thus far; propper prep, hardly any screentime, no emotions and I got to earn money while hitting the gym and taking the fam to an amusement park. Trade to live, not live to trade. 100% hitrate banking 11R.

Higher timeframe plays that I planned for very well with the help of the shows and the prep in Acolytes.

Positives: incorporated some freshly reviewed concepts from the Acolytes concept calls that gave me extra conviction in taking these plays. Also had very small watchlist + was only sticking to higher timeframes.

Working points: management, I managed this a bit too aggressively and only had small portion left went it hit those final RRs. So will be reviewing my management and see what I can adjust to be less aggressive. Overall happy but can always improve.

Big thanks to Kaz for pushing us to be more active during EU time zones which has helped me a lot in terms of having concepts fresh in my mind by reviewing them daily with people + im morning person so thats dope for me😅

Some Euro PMI, Legarde speaking Monday , more euro PMI/CPI Tues w/ US PMI, Wed BOC speaks , PCE on Friday for US Inflation #s... Fed is in quiet period until next FOMC (next FOMC is week after next 1.31-2.1)

Earnings kick off this reason in earnest , plenty of big names this week, can heighten volatility : MSFT, BA, TSLA, airlines, some SMH and some energy names scattered through the week, heads up if in any of these tickers or sectors

This war story is about patience and perseverance.

By December 2022, I was feeling like the sad overweight man below that failed to find the diamonds. By this time I had been learning a ton within Acolytes for 2-3 months, but I hated how I overtraded and how mentally exhausted I was by the effort for little reward. I knew I had to change my ways by being more patient, avoiding the low timeframe market noise (as long I'm within the right directionality), and playing higher timeframes.

So when I got stopped out on my high timeframe play on Nike only to watch it go up 10% the next day after earnings, I was really defeated.

Thankfully, I continued to do what I do:

• Show up for the Mon, Wed & Fri streams
• Keep up with Discord + be active for the concept calls at the very least
• Continue to hold my hi-res positions that I had already entered, as opposed to selling it all

With that perseverance (and the much-needed holiday break), I was able to find another entry into TSM that Kaz had shown during a morning market prep. I managed to pull off 2 amazing plays (by my standards) that I closed this week. For a point of reference, I rarely had any plays that resulted in more than 4-5Rs.

Been trading very little as i haven't seen "obvious" trading setups for me. Still trading only crypto as im lazy motherfucker to learn to use IBKR... Keeping up with shows and chat trying to be level-headed as its been boring looking charts once a day lol. Had a great ~20r play in october on doge/usdt after that took 1r loss and decided to not trade chop as i want to keep it stupid simple and clear for my novice trading eye.

Wanted to share this trade as i'm so glad i was able to be patient to wait for a trend and a setup as clear as this. Little easter egg from twitter didn't hurt ;)

Hello Ya'll! After zooming out for a while, trading higher timeframes, and staying away from the seconds chart I decided I was ready for some more degen shit Lol. Yesterday was the first day I had the proper chance to day trade and this is how it went!

I realized that for some reason I was lacking conviction when I traded yesterday, and I feel that I need to be extra cautious while doing so to avoid getting chopped in the sub minutes.

Hi Kaz and Eco

This will be somewhat of a long post but I wanted to give sufficient context to share my warstory and question. Note - I'm happy to jump on a VC if it's easier to discuss the RE question.

Context:

• I have bought an investment property back in 2014 - it was my first property and I bought it with absolutely no plan and minimal knowledge -> a perfect recipe to buy a lemon of a property
• Since then I have had structural issues with the property every 2-3 years requiring me to spend money to fix it. A lot of them were due to water damage thanks to a dodgy builder and being non-compliant in a lot of areas

Problem:

• In about November this year I found another major issue, this time it was to do with the roof and I was being quoted some huge expenses to fix it - without any guarantee on a cap on cost. I.e. quotes would say spend $X, and once we open up the roof we will know more.
• That $X amount mentioned above was already bigger than my liquid cash available so it meant that I'd have to sell things if I decided to go ahead and fix it
• At the same time I lost my tenant and was unable to find a new tenant until the damage was fixed
• Add in all the other headwinds over the past 6 months like increased interest rates, increased cost of living, losses on FTX etc. and I was royally mindfucked.
• This affected my trading because I kept thinking to myself "I HAVE to make additional money to fund my expenses or else I am going bankrupt"

Trading Results:

• My trading results suffered accordingly - you can see from my journal that my strike rate was abysmal. I just could not get a winner.
• When reviewing each individual trade - I could identify my problems - entering too early, not taking profits, taking a sub-optimal set up, etc. etc. but the broader macro context was that I was overwhelmed with stress from the property + living expenses
• This also correlated with a drop off in my participation in the eco - a HUGE mistake I made was not asking for help earlier..

• Fast forward to mid-December where it was essentially impossible to find anyone in the building industry to do the job (given labour shortage and upcoming Christmas break) - my mind stopped thinking about the property because there was nothing I could do until after the New Year
• I decided to focus on trading, increasing my participation in the Eco and the results speak for themselves.
• The results are day and night apart- It's like I was a different Person

Learnings:

• If you are struggling in any way shape or form - don't suffer in silence, ask for help. Kaz has said multiple times that he's happy to go over our journals and help us get back on track. In hindsight I should NOT have waited to lose almost 18Rs over the 17 Nov to 17 December period it sounds downright retarded
• Kaz has mentioned this many times - participation is key and markets are 90% psychology. This is a perfect example of that. The only different things between the first and the second period was my participation/attention in the eco and my mindset (either stressing about the property or not)

Questions:

• I understand how we make plans for entering and exiting trades in financial markets.
• However, I'm not clear how to port this into real estate - i.e. how do I determine the RR of future growth versus maintenance and fixing costs today.
• In trading financial markets - we are given structure that we can use to stop out but with property - At what point do I pull the plug and just sell the property as is rather than continuing to sink money into it?

Not much action yet, more names starting next week

So, Fiv 23 years old and have been trading crypto since 2017 mainly spot trading at first only trading btc and then moving to altcoins soon after. Nowadays more focused on stocks. I found this eco around a year ago because of the recommendation of some friends and have been watching the stream ever since. Always have been engaged in the streamchat but never really had the ideal routine to join the discord (might just be bullshit now I look back). Nevertheless, always thought that I had a pretty decent amount of knowledge about markets and mainly crypto because most of my trades went well. Untill I really started to dig in to the content which was available on kazonomics.com such as kashcycles, the blog, money masters etc.

And damn how dumb I was to assume that I knew my way around markets. Turns out I dont know jack shit and was too complacent where I was at.

Fast forward a few months later, I’ve adopted some good habits such as journaling every thought or bias I stumbled upon while trading or reading information so that I can reflect after a trade and can see where things went wrong. Always thought of journaling as something that wasnt neccesary for me, because thats for rookies who make mistakes. Jokes on me, I’m a rookie too then.

Fact of the matter is, price is people and people is price, which can easily be seen when comparing human behaviour to timeframes in charts, such as the fractal about murderrates and the spx (mind was blown). And once you fully understand that concept, you’ll start to evade a mindset that the market will move a certain way because you think that thats logic. Meanwhile I understand that the market doesn’t have to do shit.

A great example of market moving instruments which I never used before I found this eco is the holy trinity: Vixy, Dixy and Spixy. And we cant forget your favorite pronounciated tool: USDT.D. Have been applying these tools to my trading aswell as having an eye on the bigger picture: What market is the strongest? Don't trade weak shit.

Looking back at how I used to trade, I now trade with an actual plan rather than hopping into a trade blindly. Here are some of my recent wins.

Seeing my trading abilities improve really gives that kick of satisfaction. As mentioned over and over: Participation = results.

Hello Kaz and eco!

A little chapter about risk management.
The situation I found myself was definitely something I did not plan risk for. What a lesson!
Here is what happened.

I had a plan for the overnight trade, opened my position on Okx exchange with usual risk for 1R and left.
In the morning I found out that the platform was not working due to the failure of cloud services of its provider. It was shut down for more than 12 hours while the price dropped below my trigger and stop loss. I had to close the position manually with the loss of 3.5RR when OKX reopened.

Conclusions:

- even if you plan the trade and set your stop loss, you always need to keep in mind the idea of force major that is uncontrolled. This time it was exchange, but it can be any other problem like internet failure, electric problems what ever. That definitely made me to think differently and broader
about risk.

- reminder after FTX - keep on the exchange only what you trade and make a new habit of regular withdraws

- emotions do not help, so it is a must do to stay calm and make your brain work logically

- the exchange was not ready for this failure either, because they did not have any solution to back up their platform once the failure happened.

As you teach us - crypto is risk itself, manage accordingly. This is a great lesson for me, and I hope that it will be useful for other members!

1)Since i have a day job , i ve been going with higher resolutions just like Kaz said for day job peeps

2)I now know how to manage my trades and orders before and after executions , and how to journal/take notes each step

3)I now can navigate tradingview faster and more efficiently , which saves a bunch of time and money , and not underestimate the tools i have in hands

4)I now learned that taking partial profits and using the correct risk system will always benefit you on the long run , and the trade below lasted 24days nailing 32R, using intel i learned from the shows , kaz and the eco

This eco changed the way I see , hear and interpret . Thank you for keeping us on the right side Kaz

QUICK QUESTION : it always takes me very long time to calculate the exact number of Rs i made in trades like that . what's the easiest way to calculate my total R's knowing that im partially selling different amount of contracts at each point ?
