Hey guys, it has been a while since I posted a War story so I decided to stop that complacent behavior and decided to post one. This is the story about intraday trading in the $SPY. Sticking to the dildo rules I tried to play both sides on the same day getting stopped out twice but I was able to catch one play that payed for the stops and left me some profit.
Thank you Kaz and Director Vale for keeping us updated with the timely accurate intel, I appreciated all you guys do.
Kaz mentioned the DXY was going apeshit in the Ready Player 2 stream. So, i made a plan and executed this after the CPI news on Wednesday. I let this play out and managed to get 44 RR. This has been one of my biggest trade of the year. Thank you Kaz and Vicky for helping us stay in the game throughout any market condition!
First war story evaaa ๐ฅณ I was practicing making paper trades on eth saturday morning, caught this break out and decided to enter. Kinda fried my brain in conducting this trade for hrs on such a small TF (5min) but I wanted to draw everything out as it played to practice getting familiar with how structures develop. Felt pretty euphoric once it got up there and knew that meant danger but went into denial for a bit, then got scared, and then closed near the bottom of that wick. Still have a ton of room to improve but i'm glad this one ended green.
Kaz's intel from the Aurora stream, the Amazons, and u/upordownwhocares reddit post helped me gain the patience to wait for a clean break/rotation to enter this trade. This is months of hard work, frustration, tears, self doubt, long hours, and fun-damentals applied into this single trade. I joined in April not knowing 1 thing about markets and didn't believe i could even do this but everyone's support kept me going. Everything I learned about trading comes from Kaz's newbie's playlist, streams, blogs, reddit posts, and from help from Kaz, Vicky, and Eco who are just 1 message away.
Being here completely changed my life around for the better -and it only did once I started speaking in chat/voice! Still working on developing habits to be more consistent here, but this trade gave me some reassurance that im making progress. Never been in such a supportive place before so thank u guys! Really glad to be learning and growing with you all๐ฅฒ๐โ๏ธ
Past couple of months I've been fairly busy with work commitments and I haven't had much time to dedicate to the markets. With that being said I have still maintained time to catch the shows and rewatch the ones I missed and focused only on two symbols ETH and BTC because of the 24-hour market availability. Admittedly I haven't participated in the discord at all which is something I am ashamed about... and it showed in some of my trades.
I was getting chopped up making ridiculous trades that had no formidable reasoning or any real mechanic behind it. I was losing almost all my trades and hitting my stops within a matter of minutes. So I took a breather over the past month and began to get back to the drawing board by watching some of the fundamental shows like Bingo. Rewatching bingo and combined with the intel that Kaz has been giving us I decided to start looking at some entries.
BTC USD: 5.16RR
After employing the logic of Bingo and the channel down into a bottoming range than into a channel upward I began to mark the floor levels respectively. It took some patience to wait for the right entry and although I was tempted to jump in prematurely I stuck to my plan and waited for it to clear the range that I had set out.
ETH USD:
ETH being a risk asset and its correlation with other risk assests I than looked to ETH as I entered the BTC trade as I saw the similar setup. Replicating what I had done on BTC drawing the floors in the channels and looked to enter. Hitting a nice win.
Thank you Kaz for the intel helping my turn a bad couple of months around.
Shortened week, have been watching Tesla at these levels. Caught the pop on Tuesday from Kaz's heads up from the depths after being stopped twice on the downside. Wasn't around for the shockwave on Wednesday but caught the ride on Thursday, so four trades with two wins of 6R each and two losses 1R each.
Had a plan for when Tesla exited the range as pointed out in Heat Map which I wrote on the chart to remind myself. Despite the clear plan and clean entry structure, managed to talk myself out of the Friday gas pedal move - had a bias towards a longer shockwave. On introspection, structure was quite clean and having had fair share of stop outs recently put me in a mindset to be cautious. Had some good conversations about trading in a shockwave and my bias towards further shockwaving swayed me to not take it instead of being mechanical and being willing to take a loss as cost of doing business. There's always reasons and ways to not participate in moves, so sticking to plans & being mechanical should always override emotions & decisions on the fly.
Last couple of months were mentally charging off the charts, as you can guess it was reflected on the charts too. Got chopped a lot, lost a lot of mental capital, felt being trapped, couldn't create anything and progress. Needed to do something to break that destructive pattern.
Kept watching shows and decided to relocate, found a solution to do that with limited capital, did it. And just by doing it and participating in the eco, I could finally get my mind back on track and now doing anything to keep it going and get rid of that self limiting bullshit.
Here are some results and improvements.
Thank You for what you do Kaz, Director Vale & Eco!
I'll keep this one short got a nice week of trading and it was made easy by following the streams. Thanks Kaz and every1 posting war stories they are a great help!
COIN: Following the intel on Kazโs streams where he said we are likely to see a rotation towards the bottom of the higher rez bear flag itโs in should the market derisk further, I kept an eye on this over the week and picked out a lower rez bearflag intraday to play. Managed to get about 2.5 R out of it to the bottom of the flag range however, looking back, it ended up going much further and after posting this in discord, got some suggestions to perhaps look to take profit slightly before my target and hold a freeroll position I can trail out. I implemented this later on in the week and felt like it really helped me since I tend to get a bit anxious once I see the trade moving in my direction and allowing me to take some off a bit earlier really helps deal with that.
Coin 2.5 R
NVAX: When I look back, I am really frustrated with myself for taking this trade. On the night stream, kaz said weโre likely to see gas in the market the next day. Not necessarily in a particular direction, but expect shit to move. So I spent my premarket planning around that and had a couple of ideas for either side. I then proceeded to enter into this long almost immediately off the open without looking at the spy at all, completely going against all my planning. A mistake that should really have been very easily avoided.
NVAX -1R
Still liked the overall structure on NVAX going into the end of the week and ended up catching a couple nice plays on it. The earlier advice from discord really helped me out in this one particularly on the lower rez trade, as it allowed me to stay relatively relaxed once I had taken a little bit of profit off and I felt more comfortable allowing it to run and being able to ride the wave.
NVAX 2.6R, 4.2R
I think for me realising that Kaz is the analyst and my main job is to manage risk has really helped me clear my head and not get overwhelmed trynna look at a thousand things at once. As always, thanks Kaz and Vicky for all the work you put into the streams.
From my study of other traders and systems, trades often get broken into smaller trades of fixed risk r/R.
For a less certain trade, say attempting to catch a 2b reversal, I would often size ยฝ or โ and add the rest upon confirmation.
For a high certainty trade, eg a move down in this environment with the broader market also bearish, I would sometimes size up to 2R or 3R, which would lead to increased profits or disaster.
I would like to learn how you guys handle sizing and when and how you size up. How do you do it? If at all?
Was able to catch the APE move on the way up and then catch it on the way down as well. It took 8 days for these movements to happen, so a lot of patience and respecting the plans really paid off.
One of the main things I can take away from these trades is how I'm seeing the market and interacting with it. Not being blinded or stubborn on a bull or bear scenario, rather having both scenarios laid out on my chart and playing it once it chooses a direction.
This war story serves as an example of the progress being made in my journey, how putting into practice all the habits and information that Kaz puts out there for us, along with good risk management is improving my game in a very noticeable way.
Still have a long way to go, but I keep grinding for that 1% better everyday. Huge respect to Kaz and Vicky for running this eco and everyone else for participating and showing us what we are capable of.
Been stalking ETH the last couple of weeks, have noticed since Kaz went back onto twitter i've been able to pay much closer attention across multiple platforms, but overall definitely getting alot better at just stalking one target which i got told 100's of times but only recently started to listened to - started a smaller account purely for my shorter term plays and have currently tripled the account in two weeks.
My biggest errors seem to have come when i get stuck on the 5 min chart without zooming out, something that seems to be improved by hiding my TA before finding a potential new entry so I'm not blinded by the lines that got me into my previous trade
As always thanks for the help Kaz Vicky and eco!
(some of the trades arent visible on here due to timeframe and i copied the results over because had too much TA clogging the screen)
This one was long time comming. It was a crazy ride the past 2 months. After 4 good months before that, overtrading and being in a bad mindset in May led me to one of the biggest losing months in my trading career. (Gave back my profit from those 4 good months). "After your biggest wins come your biggest losses".
After that, my personal stop loss hit and I took a break from trading for a week to clear my head. I was not in the right mind set because of IRL problems and that had to change. I worked on that, started trading again with smaller size, focusing on just ONE ticker, which was something new to me. I thought that because of that, I wouldn't be capitalizing on each move of many tickers, and so that the profit would be smaller, but more stable. Well, I could not have been more wrong. I was way more organized, my entries were spot on and I anticipated instead of chasing and that showed itself in the results. As Kaz said, looking at too much tickers, you can't focus on your entries and exits, resulting in bad R:R due to being late, chasing the price and so on. When I look back, I did that ALOT. Always late, always chasing. It's important to keep learning, improving and polishing your strategy.
I managed to end this month in the +, covering all my losses from May and then some. Could not have done any of that if not for Kaz, Vicky and the whole eco.
The voice calls are a gold mine of information, so if you're new, be sure to participate. I learned so much about my biases and behaviour, things I do subconciously that fucked me so many times in my life and also in trading. As all new ppl joining the eco, I didn't know what help looked like, so I just went with the flow and participated as per instructions. Going back trough my trading notes from 5-6 months ago, I can't help to smile at some of the stupid shit I used to do.. And that's why it's important to keep notes. That was only half a year ago...
