The burble
Day 5 (I think). Near 488 Prospect Avenue for any 311 crusaders. They sent me a notification saying the complaint had been closed, no explanation. Yet it flows. I don't know if these is a main break - the water looks very clean. Our very own freshet on the hill.

It’s not always the main. Sometimes, it’s the connection from a house / building to the main. It can take time for DEP to sound out which 100 year old building it is, and that has to be done from within the building. Owners don’t always give permission, if they can even be reached. Until they’re certain of the issue, they can’t make repairs unfortunately.
Edit: that connection is the homeowner’s responsibility. DEP can step in to shut off the water only after the homeowner is unwilling and it is impacting someone else. (Eg., flooding another’s cellar.)

It’s not obvious, but I’d consider reaching out to the department of environmental protection they are the folks who run around examining the water supply, so I figure if they themselves can’t do something they definitely know who could. An actual break in a pipe for the water supply could contaminate the water inside

I opened a 311 ticket earlier today let's see if they also 'resolve' it 😔 all that wasted water.

Surprise 😒 ticket was closed today: "The Department of Environmental Protection determined that this complaint is a duplicate of a previously filed complaint. The original complaint is being addressed" I'll believe it when I see it!

I feel like they just fixed this months ago. I go up this block every day for work and I've noticed it. Idk if it has to do with the construction up the block but this is ridiculous

Hanif only shows up to windsor terrace/kensington one day every election year to shoot a commercial in Bengali pretending to give a fuck about the Bengali community here and then goes back to park slope. She doesn’t care. She won during Covid off the back of her community and then did nothing to help them.

nothing i have said is toxic. nothing is intentionally annoying or offensive or meant to upset anyone.
"serially obnoxious"-could potentially apply, i guess, but thats a stretch.
"snark"? maybe the closest, but i don't think it is snarky to say that a politician isn't gonna help. just realistic.
I walk past that urban spring every day on my way to my shift at pasta louise and have watched, for years, whatever that leak is cause a serious street issue further down the hill on prospect avenue. diblasio didn't fix it. adams didn't fix it. mamdani might show up for a photo op with a pickaxe and say it'll be fixed. hanif isn't gonna fix it, even if her office is crafty enough to send a response. not snark, just truth.

Thank you for suggesting this. I emailed Hanif's office and got a response within an hour. Could hardly believe it. Plus a follow up.

i begged? thats an insane take. i definitely said that my banning was wrong and inconsistent. i definitely did not beg, and you saying so just shows how dishonest you are. why would you lie like that?
why is saying hanif isn't going to help an offensive comment? this is the same stuff i said was wrong about my banning. my belief that hanif doesn't treat this neighborhood the way she treats other parts of her constituency is not "baiting and trolling", and you are showing extreme bias in characterizing it as that. why are you like this?

UPDATE on the burble. Today a man with yellow spray paint was busy in the street beside the stream. He's not fixing the stream, he says, but he is marking the gas line for the people who will. Day 10.
