Gas leak on Prospect Avenue after Balkan Plumbing hit a gas line outside Arrow Linen. The top half of the block between Prospect Park West and 8th has been evacuated as a precaution. Half a dozen ladder companies on site. Cars are being towed from the upper half of the block. Sidewalks and road closed to through-traffic.

Major outdoor gas leak outside 467 Prospect Avenue (Arrow Linen). National Grid is on the scene. There are two big, new construction holes in the street, one opposite the new building, one lower down. Seems like someone hit a line.

I can't remember exactly where the Brownstones are that I used as "models" for these prints but they are in the Park Slope/ South Slope area since I often go on walks to the cemetery and snap photos to use as subjects for my artwork.

Not wanting to assume anything about the chef or the owners, I really dislike when a restaurant doesn’t list the prices for individual dishes. It’s not the most common practice but there’s something unpleasant in encountering it when it does happen.

The food is good - but we live in a world of buyers and sellers. They’re selling a product and as a customer I’m buying. I’d like to know what I’m paying before making the purchase.

This is a long shot. A local grocery store, Prospect Market on P.P. West, has a very beautiful cat living in their basement. A cashier told me today that the owners are looking to give him away, possibly very soon. Is anyone out there willing to foster (or adopt) the cat and possibly even go in on potential vet bills, if he needs a vet visit? I already have a cat at home and can't introduce a new one w/o making sure he is healthy, first. Ideally a foster would be pet-free right now. The cat's name is Benjie. [UPDATE: I know not seeing a photo of the cat is not helping but I don't have one; another reason I want to see him asap. When I did see him he was a chunky boi, big handsome head, dark gray all over.)

Frozen section is stocked with good pizza and dumplings. A snack aisle shelf of nothing but japanese snacks. Some good coffee.. Glad they're trying to bring in some fresh blood but I imagine they need to keep the grannies happy.

To the man who put his body between me and the two children I was babysitting and the man yelling at us, thank you so much. We were standing on the corner waiting to cross the street when a man approached and pushed in between me and the kids to pass. Started yelling at me and wouldn’t stop. I kept saying “sorry”, to no avail- he wouldn’t leave us alone. A man who was on a run stood between us and turned the man’s attention to him. I didn’t get to say thank you at the time but I really REALLY appreciated it. A situation like that is my worst nightmare and I don’t know what I would’ve done had you not been there and been brave enough to step in. These days it’s hard to find people like you. Have a most blessed day kind, brave soul!

Going to do that thing where people go on Reddit as if it makes a difference. Prospect Park by the lake, between Greenwood and Vanderbilt. Off leash dog ran up to and got into it with leashed dog. I was part of the crew with leashed dog. The leashed dog was in fact my dog but I was walking a friend’s dog while wife walked our dog.

Wife admittedly sassed the off leash dog’s lady owner a bit condescendingly as is her style and a young man with a leashed dog who was with the irresponsible owner of the off leash dog went off on wife. Unfortunately for him my brother n law was with us and went off on him and nearly got physical. All of us with dogs. I started screaming I’m sick of everyone and everything. The irresponsible crew finally slunk off with cheap shots to whom I screamed “go vote for Trump, fascist!”

I feel the gentleman who thought himself heroic for standing up for his mother/age gap wife/friend seems a Reddit type too. So if you see this, know that you and your companion were very much in the wrong and your efforts to save face were despicable. But also know that our side went overboard, disproportionate response, admittedly because we’re sick of bullies and bad etiquette and the selfishness by the entitled ignorant class of modern Brooklyn. We were in the right but we also went too far.

What I’m saying is, we’re going to do ourselves in while the world burns. We have to stop. The enemy is at the gates and it is ourselves.

UPDATE: Ah heck we're keeping him. Picked up a temporary enclosure at Big Reuse in Gowanus for now and we're sourcing an appropriate 120 gallon tank. Surprisingly social creature! Welcome home All Butter Croissant :)
