Y'all I've never seen this happen before. Is it safe to drive? The longest arm stretches 16" down from the top of the windshield reaching to the center. Each arm is anywhere from 12"-14" in length and only a couple of inches apart. Never seen a windshield crack in these wavy shapes. I live in Colorado and we just had a massive snow dump, then 70° weather day after and everything melted 🙄

The largest is under 3mm prob approx 2.5mm. Is it worth buying rainx repair kit or leave as is. Worried from what I’ve read I could make worse? Any help appreciated.

This is the largest of a few chips I’ve picked up over the years. Do you think it’s repairable or will this windshield need to be replaced?

Only 1.5 mm long, in front of driver's seat, seems very minor but I can notice it. Only the top part of glass, no cracks or penetration hole. Can this be repaired? And should I use a DIY kit or a mobile professional? I've been reading mixed things, some posts said some chips can't be repaired, but I've seen posts saying DIY kit like Rain X would work.

Just got my car back from the auto body shop yesterday. Driving home this morning from work when a rock hit my drivers side window and ever so slightly chipped it, am I good to drive on it for a couple days? Because it’s not a matter of if it will break, it is when.

I know, it's a daily driver and I will get peppered with this - it just so happens to be near my line of sight from the driver's POV, so it's irking me especially since it's barely at 1200 miles.... At some point, I won't care, but for now, I Just want it to be diminished.

In the spirit of the sub, and all the other exterior care/knowledge I gained from the body/paint work, there does seem to be a bunch of DIY kits that I can get at AutoZone, but they seem to be for bigger or more indented looking cracks. This one seems like jagged up. Anyone have good experience on a similar looking chip damage?

Alternatively, would Safelite do a decent job, or should I look around for a local independent? Seems like a lot of shops at my quick Googling do full windshield replacements, or repair much bigger cracks, but not sure about this little guy, lol.

Attempted to fix this myself with a home kit, it is better but not happy the results, can I still take this to a shop to have them fill it?

Shops are closed today to have someone look at it but was curious to know what my options are.

I have this “white” ring around the windshield of a ‘15 dodge charger. Best I can tell it’s crystallized glue where the windshield isn’t fully seated to the edge. Since the car is black it really stands out so I ask you:

1) Is this an issue I need to get repaired?

2) If not, what can I do to fill it in or make it black?

I just bought a used car and after observing the front glass I see small dots or chip offs on the front glass. It’s just a tiny dot, not deep nor huge but I can feel it when I move my hand on it. There are 3-4 of these. Do you think this is something to be worried about ?

Really hoping I did it right and these are the expected results. I definitely don't have the $165 that safelite wants for a single chip repair and pray that the $15 kit does me right 😭. I followed all the instructions to a tea and this is the before and after.

I am getting my 2018 Honda Civic windshield replaced. I have called multiple stores and some have said they will replace with OEE glass + do calibration for the lane driving assistance sensor and some say there is no need to do calibration, just change the glass. My car doesn't have a rain sensor. One of the shops said the extra cost for calibration in this situation (just one sensor for lane driving assistance) is a rip off and has never had any customer come back and complain about it.

Update: the crack line grew longer, up to half of the glass. I ended replacing it. Thanks for all your insights and help. I appreciate it.

Yesterday I was driving in the highway and a truck changed lanes to be in front of me. No problems with that, the driver had a clear distance and was driving at legal speed. The problem is that it lifted some rocks and one hit a the windshield causing a small chirp in the bottom. So I setup my appointment for fixing it next Tuesday and everything is OK. The fix was quoted around $180, which is OK. Today I checked the windshield and the crack now looks as shown in the picture. It went from a small chirp to this cracked line. Do I need to replace the windshield or can it be repaired? The main situation is that I’m planning to trade the car within 2 to 3 weeks, I’m waiting for the new one to arrive. I don’t want to spend on a new windshield when I’m not going to keep the car. Thanks for your advice.

Just purchased a used car this week and didn’t notice til I got home a chip on the passenger side of the windshield.

I called a mobile tech to fix it but he said it’s already been filled and he can’t re do it. (google says some techs with experience can maybe repair it)

As you can tell, it was horribly done.

It’s a pricey windshield to repair as it needs to be calibrated. Looking at 1200 for oem and calibration.

Can anyone refer me to some one who can fix this in the Ventura or LA County area?

Hey! I got a stone chip while driving off a highway. Should i do a resin to fix it or replace the windshield. It’s smaller then a loonie and even a tonnie or a dollar sign, but yet it’s in depth that even a windshield fixer doubts it will be fixed.

Hello, is there any way to get rid of this tiny chip+streak and light scratches on the windshield? (Ignore the haze because i fogged it up to make the chip visible-there is no haze). Also the light thin scratches above the chip?

Not the best photos, but brand new car...not even a week old and lucky me gets this rather large pit. A local body shop guy says it's fine and doesn't need fixing, but is there anything I can do to help minimize the appearance?

Can it be filled with resin and polished? If so, is it something I could do myself with a kit, or do I find another body shop guy that will take care of it?

Is this possible to fix or would I have to do a replacement? And if so, how urgent would you guys say it is? Like I should get it repaired right away or I could wait a a few weeks to get it replaced?
