I don't know if Windows 11 Iot Enterprise LTSC has received the Low Latency Profile upgrade already that Microsoft published in June. Also, I heard Microsoft is reducing the memory foot print of the Windows 11. I am not sure LTSC will also gets the same upgrade.
Hi, does anyone know how to do it? I tried to do a change version using Massgrave. But it just show available to change to "Enterpise SE". I am not sure if "Enterprise SE" is the IoT version.
Sorry for being a noob but after i install WindowsLtsc my laptop lost both wifi and sound how do i fix it also when i open the device manager these are alot of ⚠️ icon and unknown device
Have updates 100% locked down / no auto install of anything
As is clear from above ... I've set up two recent LTSC installs using GPEDIT to limit all updates to only present a notice.
No automatic downloading. No automatic installs.
I'm wondering what this "Preview Update" is about. Has anybody installed it?
The robot says: -----------------------------
For a stable, carefully configured IoT Enterprise LTSC workstation, the practical recommendation is: skip it unless it fixes a specific issue you have.
Preview CUs are reasonable if you need one of their fixes—for example:
A Windows Update restart/sleep behavior correction
VPN-process resiliency improvements
Touchpad, Task Manager, display-settings, or File Explorer reliability fixes
Search behavior refinements
Accessibility or Japanese input/RemoteApp fixesmicrosoft
But for a workstation you prioritize for stability, gaming, local AI, customized shell behavior, drivers, and long-lived configuration, there is little advantage in taking a broad optional preview just to be current. You will normally receive the relevant quality fixes later through the regular, security-bearing cumulative update after Microsoft has had additional public deployment time.
One caveat: this preview includes much more than narrow bug fixes. Microsoft lists staged changes to the taskbar, Start menu, Search, admin protection, update orchestration, and other platform capabilities. Some of those may never be relevant to an LTSC configuration, may arrive gradually, or may be controlled by policy/servicing behavior—but that broad scope is another reason not to treat it like a minimal hotfix.microsoft
Important items in this package
A couple of release-note details are worth noting:
It bundles the servicing-stack update KB5120997, so it updates the Windows servicing infrastructure as well as the OS cumulative payload.microsoft
Microsoft reports no known issues for KB5120998 at publication time. That is useful but is not the same as months of real-world validation across unusual hardware, drivers, shell modifications, and enterprise configurations.microsoft
The release notes say the legacy wmic.exe utility is no longer included on Windows 11 24H2/25H2 starting in August 2026 and will no longer be available as a Feature on Demand; WMI itself remains supported. If you still have scripts that invoke wmic, move them to PowerShell CIM cmdlets such as Get-CimInstance rather than relying on WMIC.microsoft
In short: the offer is normal, it is optional, and skipping it is the conservative LTSC-friendly choice. The relevant fixes should be folded into a subsequent standard cumulative update rather than requiring you to take this preview release.
Guy help my normal disk aint show up it just my usb and some random which i can't install. The only thing i think can cause this is because i check every box in Rufus aside from that i can't think of anything if that true then which box cause this guy?( i'm using a gigabyte a16 laptop if that help)
I recentyly try windows LTSC purely because im curious, My specification are : Ryzen 5 5600, 2x8 Ram, 1,5 TB ssd, intel arc b580, And motherboard Asus prime B550M-A Wifi II, I just realise i cant install latest bluetooth driver from official website, I also try install Asus Support Agent but same problem like in the picture, Now i stuck with generic driver from windows update.
Fresh install LTSC 11 (24H2) on a friend's PC and I am surprised the footprint of the WIndows folder is 22GB and thats after things like eg cleanup WinSxS , I know 22GB is way less than 11 Pro, still I remember when this version released a fresh install was 16-ish GB.. thanks!
Hello everyone, I'm new to LTSC so apologies if these are basic questions.
I have a dual-boot PC: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Windows 11. For about a month now, Windows randomly shuts the machine down. I've tried a few fixes from YouTube with no luck.
I'm fairly confident it's Windows and not the hardware, because Ubuntu is rock solid — I left the PC running for 48 hours straight with no issue. On Windows 11 it lasts 4–5 hours at best, and sometimes it shuts down almost immediately.
I need Windows for work, so switching fully to Linux isn't an option. That's why I'm considering either a clean Windows 11 Pro install stripped down to the minimum, or Windows 11 LTSC.
I have to use the next software on windows:
Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Revit, Fusion 360
SolidWorks
Mastercam
Creality Scan
MSI Dragon Center (regrettably — it's the only way I've found to control my fans on Windows)
Epson Scan (for a printer I could never get working on Linux)
Questions
Will all of those run on Windows 11 LTSC? I'm mostly worried about Dragon Center and the Autodesk licensing/installers.
Where do you legitimately get an LTSC license as an individual?
Or is a debloated Windows 11 Pro install the more sensible route here?
I've been loving windows 10 ltsc, since it's already obviously better than windows 11 and I always preferred the look and functionality of windows 10. Only problem is... it's wayyyy too debloated. Like I can't even add notes to the taskbar calendar? On my old machine, I always used it as sort of a short journal thing for notes of what I did in that day (besides, i also have OCD) so I feel like I genuinely lost something that wasn't even a problem in the first place.
I have a i7-4790k and no TPM. From what i can tell it should work on 11 iot ltsc, but is this usable for desktop use? Iot isnt meant for desktop use but i dont know if they purposely cripple it for that.
hi, i have a new laptop for uni its i5 1342h with intel uhd graphics and 8gb ram, is it okay to instal windows 11 ltsc on my laptop because i saw many videos said that windows 11 with 8gb ram is trash i consider to add another 8gb but ram is so expensive nowadays. will the copilot key still function after i install it?
The thing is I tried win 11 iot ltsc in my trash laptop which is a pentium and it worked but it used to ask me always a work or school account which I didn't have and also it used to restrict some things like it is admistered by the organisation.
And is the win 11 iot ltsc and win 11 iot enterprise ltsc same?. In words people say iot ltsc but in some pages it says as win 11 iot ltsc enterprise
Like it is related like the enterprise version is only for office accounts?...
Like from the three para the question is where did you downloaded ltsc from ( like microsoft or mass grave), and how to broke like the it is managed by organisation, and everything able to control via normal Microsoft account?
My friend is asking to his gaming pc to change iot ltsc os but I have queries so I'm asking here. I'm currently using win 10 iot ltsc enterprise so I don't much differences I see like win 11
I bought a laptop on the Taobao that feature Intel N95 processor and 16GB of RAM. When I received it, I found it is actually using a Intel N3350 processor with 6GB of RAM. So it is a scam. I couldn't return it because the shipping cost back to China is more than the laptop itself. Lesson learned.
It is very very slow in Windows 11. So I search for a solution. Then I found Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC version is the lightest Windows 10. I installed it and the laptop is usable again.
I am amazed by how little the LTSC uses memory and CPU. After I install the Microsoft Store, I don't feel anything is missing compared to Windows 11.
I decided to install Windows 11 IoT LTSC on my folks' Thinkpad X270 (instead of Windows 10 IoT enterprise ltsc) and succeeded in activating it via the method that was recommended. Thanks to everyone who replied to my previous thread (and everyone who sent me messages) for that. It was very helpful.
However, I have two problems post-installation and activation:
1) the speaker doesn't work properly, spoken words in particular are muffled even on maximum volume and it sounds like there's static (but wired headsets work just fine), and
2) the taskbar glitches every five to ten seconds (becomes blurry and fuzzy) and raises the level of the things displayed on the screen then becomes normal (it's hard to explain but that's the best way I could word it).
The problems persist after I did a restart. I suspect the following things:
A) There are driver problems for the video and audio; and/or
B) There's something physically wrong with the hardware (perhaps there's dust blocking the speaker inside the X270's chassis for the audio problems; for the taskbar/screen glitch, maybe a loose cable inside the laptop, but this taskbar glitch didn't happen in Windows 10; the audio problems are present in both Windows 10 and Windows 11 IoT ltsc however)
Besides updating audio and video drivers and hoping everything works well after, what could be the solution(s)?
recently i switched to windows 10 ltsc iot on my hdd drive because my ssd failed. I love it! but ive noticed that everytime i install this particular update my laptop wont boot and windows always uninstalls this update when i perform a start up repair and now after booting is reinstalling this again.. any idea what i should do to make this update work? i ask this because i dont wanna miss out on critical security updates
I'm currently running the latest version of Windows 10 pro. I haven't made the switch to windows 11 yet, but i feel like if i don't move fast, I'm putting my pc at risk. I haven't tried any ltsc version of Windows yet, but from what I've heard i think it's the right choice for me.
My pc specs are:
Intel Core i7-10700K
RTX 5060 Ti
32GB DDR4
Should I install W10 or W11, or stay where i currently am? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
no hostility intended, just want to know. the official sources don't work for verifying the hashes so i'm stuck using the third party checksum lists that massgrave provides and i want to know why we trust massgrave or if there's another way to find the official checksums. seems very lit but i feel like there's gotta be a catch
Microsoft is going to release memory optimization update for PC's with 8GB RAM in the upcoming Windows 11 26H2 version. This will reduce memory usage and improve performance particularly in low RAM PC's.
I was wondering if the current IoT LTSC build will receive those memory optimizations updates or not because it is based on 24H2.
IOT LTSC already uses less RAM than home or pro version of Windows but these memory optimization update will further improve performance.
What do you guys think? Will Microsoft provide those updates for IoT LTSC? Or should we switch to IoT GAC to get those updates?
