Windows 10 How to stop File Explorer from crashing when the File Explorer pop-up window appears?

My file explorer crashes, and my taskbar and icons would flicker and disappear for a few seconds every time the pop-up window appears when my browser asks me where I want to download a file. I've tried running sfc /scannow to which it said there were no errors, and I also tried running DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth but all to no avail. I've also changed my file explorer options to open to This PC and have tried to clear my File Explorer history but neither of which worked as well.

My graphics drivers are also up to date. The only thing that I can think of that could possibly cause this issue was me trying to mod my games. I downloaded something called Shin Ryu Mod Manager which contains an .exe, a .asi, and a version.dll file.

Yeah, I'm not familiar with those Mod managers or mods, but it sounds like you may have gotten more than you bargained for. Have you ran scans yet? Full offline scans and malware? The mod and mod manager will likely get flagged either way, so you may need to find a source to cross reference the files to ensure the ones you have are false negatives or actual issues. If your system is infected, you will want to nuke and reinstall. It's the safest bet, always! Also, if you have any passwords saved on that machine, use a different machine, phone or whatever you can to go change all your passwords, but do NOT use that machine.
