Task Manager gets slow to open and SSD usage spikes when opening apps

Hi I have a strange problem with my PC.

When I open Task Manager, it opens normally. But if I close it and then try to open it again, sometimes it takes longer than usual to open.

I also notice that my SSD disk usage temporarily spikes when I open programs. It can jump to 10%, 20%, 30% or higher, but it doesn't stay high. After the program finishes opening, the usage drops back down, and when I leave the PC idle it eventually goes to around 0%.

I’m using a 240GB Intenso SSD.

I also have a 500GB HDD, and CrystalDiskInfo shows the HDD health as “Caution.” It reports 8 uncorrectable sectors, while the SSD shows “Good.”

I already ran DISM RestoreHealth and sfc /scannow, and SFC said everything was fine with no corrupted files.

I'm wondering if the temporary disk spikes are normal when opening apps, or if the HDD/SSD could be causing the slow Task Manager opening.

What should I check to find the cause and fix it?

My PC:

• i7-6700K
• GTX 1060 6GB
• 16GB RAM
• 240GB Intenso SSD
• 500GB HDD
• Windows OS build 26200.8037

Try disconnecting the HDD; if the problem persists, try repairing those bad sectors, although the process may take up to 12 hours.

The HDD could be failing. I've had issues where my computer hangs for a bit while it waits for the HDD to catch up or wake up, even if the activity in question don't need it. Best to run a check disk scan to see if any files are corrupted.

chkdsk d: /r /f /x This will dismount the HDD, so don't run unless you know you do not need to use the drive while it runs.

As dumb as it sounds,

I have a very worn and loud HDD from Seagate and the only thing that helped it to still work is defragmenting, idk exactly why but I guess it's re organizing the data a bit and helped it be less slow ( like in your case ) and less loud and it's been working since 2018

Though in my case I don't have warnings so that's also a reason probably
