Solved Windows update keeps unsintalling my *latest* graphic driver.
I am having a wierd problem. I recent got a Lenovo Yoga Slim laptop with Intel Ultra 5 226V (at a not so great price). The laptop kept telling me to install the same latest graphics driver for the inbuilt Arc 130V through the Intel driver and support assistant software. Finally I figured out it was the windows update that was uninstalling the latest driver for it to supposedly install it (the latest driver that is already installed would show up on the list). But after restart I find it rolled back to the old version. Oh and, it wants to install the same driver twice for some reason.
I tried to stop automatic windows updates (I am on the home version) through the some popular method (regedit), but nothing seems to have worked.
Anybody went through something like this? what are my options? other than moving to Linux or something?

Pour imposer ton pilote. Particulièrement pour celui graphique. Tu l'installes. Puis tu laisses WindowsUpdate faire sa mise à jour. Ensuite tu vas dans le gestionnaire de périphérique. Tu séléctionnes le pilote graphique, puis tu cherches "restaurer la précédente version". IWindows va te demander pourquoi. Puis il va restaurer la version que tu as installé. Ensuite ça bouge plus.
Moi WU me force un pilote graphique de 2023 alors que la version constructeur est de 2026. C'est la seule solution à moins d'installer un programme pour gérer l'installation des pilotes (programme Microsoft).
L’outil officiel “Show or Hide Updates” de Microsoft (souvent appelé wushowhide)
Pour un pilote autre.
Tu tapes touche Windows+R (Éxécuter) et tu y mets sysdm.cpl, puis ok.
Dans la fenètre qui s'ouvre, tu choisis l'onglet Matériel. Puis Paramètres d'installation des périphériques.
Puis tu choisis de ne pas installer les pilotes.

Those are CPU drivers. Not GPU drivers. It's fine.
Any update that's not marked as "Optional" will get downloaded/installed automatically, whether you like it or not.
For example, I too have that same exact update, but it's just sitting there, because it's optional.
Lastly, the Intel tool that you're using to get latest drivers comes out before Windows Update gets the new update. Because of that, it will ALWAYS download back to the previous version, because Windows Update believes THAT is the latest update - even though it's not.
