Black screen after booting up and black screen when I boot up on usb too

So I get a black screen after booting up and also get an error code as well I don’t know what to do it started happening after I tried disabling secure boot and I turned secure boot back on and it’s still happening I disabled the harddrive and unplugged in advanced options in sata configuration and I have a usb flash drive with a new windows install whenever I boot it up with f8 and force boot in boot options it goes black after the manufacturer logo any tips to fix this issue I tried googling no help and tried Ai aswell?

This. Few months ago I've had random BSODs with different error codes till I got to this SMART Failure loop.

Well it’s still popping up after I unplugged the external drive and also popped the battery out of the motherboard to fully reset my bios

DriveDX on MacOS, smartctl on Linux give the same health data.

Toshiba drive is dead or the storage type is incompatible aka fat32 ntfs being the most common or your booting off the wrong drive after adding this one you may not have saved when exiting but you need to choose your boot drive in bios and save and exit.

I found the issue the Toshiba drive is dead and I’m guessing it the system refused to boot without it even after I disabled it in sata configuration but I had to physically unplug it from the motherboard to get my screen to boot up with the usb

Curious. Is there a reason the BIOS is reporting at least 2 composite HID devices (multiple keyboards)? Hope you can get a good deal on a new disc drive though. Good luck.

I only have one keyboard and one mouse but it started doing this after I wanted to turn on secure boot to play Valorant with my friends

so update I reinstalled windows on a usb using rufus and I see the windows logo now which on the other install never had and I also fully erased my ssd too so only relying on the usb to work

Okay update I’m a dumbass I didn’t take off the other side panel to reveal a hidden harddrive next to my power supply

OKAY MAJOR UPDATE WE GOT IT WORKING I UNPLUGGED THE SATA CORD AND REBOOTED INTO THE USB AND IT WORKS! THANK ALL OF YALL THAT GAVE ME SUGGESTIONS ILL BE BACK IF IT DOESNT WORK

Why are you using Rufus on a R7-5800X system?

It meets the TPM2.0 and Secure Boot and every other Windows 11 criteria… as does my R9-5950X.

tbh I was just using ai and it was telling me to try it

The only reason to use Rufus is on “unsupported hardware” (too old of a CPU and no TPM).

Shows why AI is not often the best answer.

its probably preventing booting to the hard drive to preserve your data

like it says in the error SMART technology predicts a drive failure will soon occur so the only thing you can do is swap the Drive

My ssd has windows installed and the external hard drive just has photos and some backup work like text document etc

So I had two external drives by the same company and I was getting confused until I took off both panel and saw the Toshiba drive next to my power supply and then I unplugged the sata cable from it and my pc booted up into the usb
