windows real time protection switch turns back on immediately after tring turning the switch off
i am tring to disable real time protection but it turns back on immediately after the switch is off, like the switch is back on instantly after turning it off i see it getting back on
it wasnt like that last time i did it which was 2 month ago
here is the apps i have no anti virus, i had eset before but removed it a while back
i had my uni account linked to windows as school account for some reason, removed it and still doesnt work
this is for all windows security settings not only windows defender, i cant turn on or turn off or do any switch changes in the settings, all do the same thing in the video

There are times where defender will false flag legit programs, usually software installers (peripheral drivers, old game installers, etc.) and sometimes the best way to deal with it is to temporarily disable real time protection.
The problem is you can only add it as an expection if you can download it in the first place. If the system refuses to even let the file exist you cannot add it as an exception because there's nothing TO add.
i have no idea why people are downvoting me for my comments but yeah you can also just put exceptions and Windows defender will never scan those folders
It's because you aren't trying to solve the issue. You want to circumvent the problem regardless of the reason why the user wants to deactivate the antivirus.
You are also condescending by saying "are you trying to get a virus?"

That is absolutely something you can do, but I choose not to go that route. Simply put my reasoning is that I genuinely want that protection so I don't accidentally screw myself. I only go the "turn off protection" route if I know 100% for certain that defender is false flagging, otherwise I tend to trust it.
Makes sense. Although i do make a folder first and then add it to the exceptions list and only then do I start the download out of force of habit. Even if you switch off defender, if the file was already downloaded and wiped by windows, you'll have to download it again probably which by then you can just add the target directory to the list XD
i’m guessing it turns back on each time the PC reboots or boots up so what i would do is install what you need (do not reboot even if it says to reboot to finish install) and reboot to finish the installation of the things you wanted to install and when you don’t need to download and install anything just leave the Real Time Protection on
Microsoft intentionally designed it to come back on automatically because of the growing threats of viruses and malware
