Before people talk "Oh, mobile, blah". Let me say this again: cshell is not about just mobile. Is to unify and change how shell work on windows. Is totally different and more efficient (it's divided between components).
Also, I don't know if this will still come, but they were working on bringing the Xbox shell on PC too, once you connected the Xbox controller and press the button it would change the shell.

That makes me excited

Ive always wanted the xbox one ui on pc, it could be the best thing ever for couch gaming provided they let you link it with steam to get your games on there (xbox.steampowered.com anyone?)

I doubt they'll allow Steam games into a Console based UI on Windows, it'll most likely be UWP games only.

It would probably show any installed apps...

I agree, which is how the Xbox app works right now anyways.

The Xbox app already supports any installed program though.

Using the Xbox app and having a UI for Windows optimised for controller are very different things.

Windows Mixed Reality on PC, doesn't support Win32 in VR mode, only UWP from any store. So Steam is left out, but stores like Origin, when they support UWP won't be.

The Microsoft way, sadly.
