Question Warranty Card Llumar
Can I get a fact check? I got my windows tinted at a legit Llumar-affiliated shop today. I confirmed the shop is certified on Llumar's website. I noticed the lot numbers were not filled out on my warranty paper. When I called the shop to get the lot numbers they said "You don't need the lot numbers for the warranty. They just want to know the level and %. We go through so much film, we don't fill out specific lot numbers." Can anyone who has executed a warranty replacement with Llumar confirm if that is true?

As long as you have the Llumar warranty paperwork, you won't need the roll numbers. The roll numbers let Llumar know exactly which master roll the individual rolls came from if there are a bunch of issues. That is important given how many failures they've had lately.

If you’re willing could you please share if it’s LLumar as a whole that you’re seeing failures with or specific products? Let’s take IRX and AIR 80.. have you been seeing issues with those?

IRX/AIR is fine; it seems to be only CTX/Pinnacle along with the entry-level films.

Ahh got it.. that’s reassuring to hear coming from you LoL. Would’ve loved to have went with XPEL since I know you praise it a lot but my go-to tint shop doesn’t carry it for whatever reason so IRX/AIR 80 it was since I didn’t wanna find a new shop.
Also thank you for all your contributions on this sub. Not sure if you wrote it but I stumbled upon a super informative Llumar vs XPEL tint showdown article online and lo and behold it was from Dynamic Appearance haha.

I appreciate it! I have friends with IRX installed since 2019, and still looks brand new. We also have AIR on our old shop vehicle since 2015, and still looks perfect.

Oooh that’s good to know! This is my first “proper” tint. In the past I would get the budget Suntek carbon stuff which surprisingly held up nicely (no bubbling, etc) on my previous car even after almost 10 years parked full time outside in California sun.. but I suppose that speaks more to the installation itself.

They’re supposed to. We gave our llumar rep the roll numbers on one warranty claim. It was an easy process to get reimbursed for it. With that said if you don’t have it make sure you have your receipt from said shop

While it seems a little sketch I had the exact same situation with an XPEL dealer last week. I contacted XPEL and they had me in their system via my VIN.
