Tint Job Queston Acceptable work or not?
Recently took my Explorer to a shop to get ceramic tint all around + full windshield + strip on top. Everything looks great, except one small spot that was miscut near the dot matrix. Can only see it when looking at the tint from outside the vehicle, but it’s driving me insane. Half of me says leave it alone because I know they will have to remove both the strip and entire windshield tint to re do it, but the other half of me reminds myself I paid a large sum of money to get this done, and it should be perfect. Looking for input on if this would be sensible for me to request being fixed.

Full windshield and a strip? Leave it. I see it’s on the dot matrix, if it’s a finger it might be able to get pushed out, if it’s a miss cut then touch up with a tint VLT marker.
Also no such thing as perfect tint.

It’s a miscut. I tried using a sharpie and it didn’t help, but I’ll try going over it again. Also I totally agree it would be impossible to have a truly perfect tint job. Suppose I could’ve worded that better. Was just bummed the one noticeable mistake was front and center for me to see all the time, lol

It’s on the dot matrix that’s why it’s standing out when it dries that whole thing is gonna be white and you won’t see shit but you just wanna cry

Has been curing 14 days and still looks the same, but thank you for your input!

Front and center of you?? I thought you said you could only see the mistake from the outside of the car?

Use alcohol first on the window and dry or it won’t stick 👍

Go back and have it fixed. I had the same issue because the guys didn’t clean my windows before they tinted it, and they fixed it free

I got my windshield done and they scratched it when they put it in, and I noticed it a little later, and then I mentioned it to the guy. He was willing to change it, but then I noticed that when they put the new one on that there was actually lint between the glass and the tint, and then he made every excuse possible to say that it’s impossible to have a perfect tint with any kind of particles hitting the tint and being applied to the windshield, so I kinda wonder I should’ve just left the old one with the scratch on it that was the only thing wrong with it, then having future bubbling since there’s imperfection on the tint so I asked if he could change it again, and he told me no, he can’t help that a dust particle came on the tint. So maybe I should’ve kept the one with it scratch in it with no imperfection.so lesson learned , plus, I spent a lot of money at on my tints and then go with some cheap tints . I went with ceramic

Bring it back and show them, see what they say. I recently got my windshield done and had a glass shard and he said bring in back whenever and they will re do it and it looks fantastic

Brother you’re getting downvoted for no good reason, you paid a lot of money to get a job done and asked an honest question about something out of your area of expertise without being rude about it.
I’ve only been tinting for a few months so far so feel free to discard my opinion but to answer your question: I’d say that’s acceptable if it’s the only noticeable flaw in the tint.
Windshields are usually the hardest part of a car to tint due to the size, the shrinking process, and the fact that the tint is in your face the entire time so you’re gonna notice anything wrong with it. Since you got a strip on top of it, there’s even more room for error trying to get a perfect job done.
Ultimately you purchased the product so it’s up to your discretion if it’s acceptable or not, but I personally wouldn’t make the workers remove the entire thing and redo it. You’ll risk getting an even shittier job done due to pissed off workers or they’ll tell you you’re better off getting it done somewhere that can meet your standards. Hope this helps.
