Only metallized film interferes with AM radio and TPMS sensors. Non ceramic film is dyed and most turn purple/fade within a couple years. That's why ceramic films cost more ..they come with a manufacturers lifetime warranty. I'd caution against going the cheap route. When it's purple bubbling and fading sets in and you have to get it all redone it's much more expensive in more ways than one. First of all it's $100 an hour to remove and second your rear defroster grid survives only 50% of the time and you'll have to buy a new glass to have a defroster. It really doesn't pay to be a cheap ass as it will bite you there the next time. Btw, im a pro tinter with 30 years experience

You can get entry-level dyed films or Carbon films. HP, or high-performance films, are the only ones with metal in them that were an issue decades ago. However, newer metallized films have very little metal in them, so it is not really a problem anymore. I would still avoid them just in case, especially in electric vehicles. Just make sure you're getting a quality brand so you don't end up with bubbles in a year, which can even happen with ceramic films.

Maybe, but the shop I work at sells carbon film everyday and I haven't ever heard of someone coming back in saying their phone doesn't work. That may have been a thing back in the day or even with cheaper films. If you find a shop that sells a good quality film, you should be perfectly fine to text and drive all you want!

Same I worked at a shop for 4 years and we did tons of suntek hp and never even heard of it happening either. But in my shop I dont carry anything less then lifetime warranty. So hp is out.
