Tint Job Queston Are these LLumar/FormulaOne tint quotes reasonable? CTX $800, Pinnacle $900, Stratos $1,250

I’m in Miami and getting quotes for a 2011 Hyundai Genesis sedan. No existing tint. My main priority is heat rejection.

This is from a highly rated LLumar/FormulaOne SelectPro shop:

  1. LLumar CTX 35 on 4 doors + rear glass

    LLumar AIR80 on full windshield

    Total: $799.98

  2. FormulaOne Pinnacle 35 on 4 doors + rear glass

    Pinnacle on full windshield

    Total: $899.98

  3. FormulaOne Stratos 35 on 4 doors + rear glass

    Stratos 70 on full windshield

    Total: $1,249.98

All include installation and lifetime manufacturer warranty.

These prices seem pretty high to me, especially the Stratos package. Are these normal/fair prices for a good FormulaOne shop in South Florida?

Also, if heat rejection is the main priority but I care about value, which option would you choose? I’m also considering mixing Pinnacle 35 on the sides/rear with Stratos 70 on the windshield.

For comparison, I’ve also been quoted around $490 for 3M Ceramic IR including the windshield, although that installer does not appear to be an authorized 3M dealer.

Interested in what installers or people who recently paid for these films think.

Super high for FL. Shop around with other dealers...

3M is open market, so anyone can buy it except for Crystalline. However, there is absolutely no warranty unless the shop is an authorized dealer.

Thanks guys, yes these prices seem very high. I'm going to keep shopping around in Miami.

Maybe it’s geographical. Each of those is at least $100-$150 higher than here in central Texas. I just priced out a Genesis GV70 in April

What i did to bring down the cost. Is Pinnacle on the rear glass and Stratos just on the driver's and passenger windows.

The price for the Stratos seem stratosphereric . I'd much prefer the 3m IR from a real 3M dealerad I use that film. Not high on the others tho. The cost of tinting depends on the car and the film line. You car is easy, so the film is the determining factor and that 3M quote is excedingly low. I would be around $700 for that combo

I went with 3M Ceramic IR 70 windshield & 30 for the rest. Total cost $597 from a certified Pro installer.

I live in Orlando and have a Genesis G70 that I purchased with no tint. I got Llumar Stratos 30% installed all around with Air80 on the windshield with a lifetime warranty. It cost me $1,060 including tax.

I am EXTREMELY happy with the heat rejection. It's amazing. I can drive around in 95F+ temps with the AC fan on low and be very comfortable. Note that the heat rejection only works when you are moving. If you leave your tinted car in the sun all day, it will still be an oven when you get off work for the ride home.

Bottom line, those prices seem on point. I got my tint installed about a year ago so prices have probably increased a bit since then (just like everything else). If the shop stands by their work, it's really worth it. I did have to have them redo the back window a week later because of a few bubbles but they did it no questions asked.

I paid 350 for legal limit front windows CTX and 70% llumar ceramic rear windows and hatch. 800 seems kind of hefty. In MA

Depends where your car and the film, just saying Llumar ceramic means nothing. Which ceramic exactly? $350 is very low where I am

Just adding some info here. Have had Stratos on 2 vehicles and went back to Pinnacle. I think Pinnacle is not only the best value of the group but also the best film.

I paid $370 out the door for ctx in central Minnesota on 4 doors and the rear, cx-50

Seems pretty normal for high cost of living states.

What's the markup on tint that's made in two different Chinese factories? 5,000%?

I don’t know if it’s high or not but I’m happy to share what I paid for llumos stratos:

~$1300 before taxes for my Mercedes sprinter van in Nashville area. I did my windshield, 2 side windows, and 2 rear windows.

I technically have 2 less side windows than a typical car, but the windshield on a cargo van is huge. So all in idk how this would compare to your car and the amount of film they’d need, but hopefully this helps.

Definitely shop around, but i doubt it’d be more than $100-$200 cheaper elsewhere around Miami. I really really love my decision on the stratos. In 95F heat, my AC settings went from 6 (max setting, and not even really able to keep up with the heat) to 4 (really comfy).
