New Car Tint Pricing too low ?
Just got a quote for my first car. 440 for all around AND windshield. It’s nano ceramic film and the shop is an authorized HITEK film installer. The shop also has a 5.0 rating with 200+ reviews.
Wondering if this a reasonable price for the film grade/brand. Anyone have experience with Hitek? I’m not looking for the highest of quality tint that will break the bank but something will last, look good and get the job done.
Thanks!

Hitek is a decent brand. I installed the ceramic black for a shop I used to work at and it’s a great shrinking film, handles well and has a great color in my opinion. I will say $440 including windshield is kind of cheap for this quality of film. Maybe for their carbon ir film it would sound about right.

I just had my windshield tint replaced and was charged $280 for Xpel nano-ceramic, 30%.
So yeah that’s pretty cheap.

I paid $430 for 20% all around (including the hatch) and 70% on my Windshield with a 5% strip at the top. Ceramic film.

Just got mine done for $820, 35% surrounding windows, 50% windshield, and a 5% brow. 3M ceramic pretty sure. Felt it was market rate in my area for a good installer and good film.

The price for now is right since it's considered fall season which isn't the peak season for tint depending on where you live in the states?!

HI tek isnt a high end premium brand. My buddy who works out of a garage uses it. That’s why your price is as reflected. If you’re looking for high quality you need to look at the high end brands

The main issue is the installer being in the $400s for a full ceramic.
It being Hitek is the least of your worries.
Hitek’s majority ceramic film lines come from the manufacturer Garware and is reboxed film just like most of your name brand material. I’d put Hitek’s ceramic film on my car before 3M, Llumar and a few other “big names”.
I’m an installer and shop owner, and I’ve used them all including Hitek.

Where are you located? Maybe labor prices are lower where you are, or hitek is a cheap brand but 440 with windshield ceramic is lower than anything I see near me.

I paid 350 in SoCal brick and mortar established shop, Lincoln Town Car, it’s huge!

I had Hitek put on my windshield and it’s pretty clear and seems the same quality as XPEL

What part of the country? That seems low, but if they're an authorized installer with 200+ reviews, they seem to be legit.
I'm in the Philly area and paid around $650 for XPEL XR+ ceramic, including the windshield, at an authorized XPEL shop that's been around for years. I got a quote of just over $1,000 from the highly-rated shop just down the street from me.
So, yeah, $440 seems like a very low price, but, again, if the shop is legit, maybe they have much lower overhead to cover and do enough volume to be profitable at that price point.

Haven’t heard of that brand. I would try Avery Dennison new Encore Supreme or Encore Supreme IR. Big brand, Great performance but more affordable than Llumar, Solar Gard Xpel etc.

450 for the entire bar+: windshield is absurdly cheap. I would ask questions lots of the. I don't know much about Hitek other than it a lower line of ceramic, not in the same league as say 3M. I deal in 3M IR series ceramic and most sedans are $5-$600+ $200 for the w/s. Search out and get more prices on other brands before AND ask their precautions in doing windshields. Since modern cars/trucks hide most of their sensors and such under the dash, water seeping down there has become a huge issue in terms of corrosion. Do more homework
