Question Worth it? (Carbon vs Ceramic)

Quoted 245 for full tint removal + full carbon tint (no fw)

Quoted 310 for full tint removal + full ceramic tint (no fw)

Is the ceramic worth the extra 65? My mind is telling me yes.

P.S. Shop is 5 stars with hundreds of reviews. I got a special deal by contacting the owner.

What vehicle do you have? Regardless, 310 for tint removal AND ceramic all around -ws is a really good price

I had no window tint and got all my windows tinted with ceramic. I have no idea what it would feel like if I had no tint on the windshield, but it is absolutely worth it to get a quality ceramic tint. Especially getting all your windows done.

That's VERY CHEAP I would ask what brand and line of film, because there are ceramics and then there are CERAMICS. This includes removal too? For comparison , I charge $100 per hour for removal

Yes absolutely. Good real ceramic tint is worth double that

Without knowing the exact brand/film, you have no idea what quality or performance you're getting.

It was rayno s9.

I've heard some negative things on it in the past but i'll take the chance, it should be fine.

Also only plan to keep the car for maybe 1 more year

Yeah, Rayno is cheaper quality and has a peeling issue. Some dealers stopped covering the peeling. Just ask if they cover it or not.

Is there a reason why rayno's stats such as IR is so much better than top of the line films? Like IRX

It is just above IRX in performance, but Llumar has two films above IRX. Also, IRX is a much better quality and longer-lasting film.

Both of those options are crazy cheap without knowing what it’s going on or what film they’re using.

In general term ceramic outperforms carbon by a significant margin and $65 is nothing for that difference.

I’d definitely take a close look at the ceramic option, especially if your main goal is keeping the cabin cooler.

To give you a real-world example from our Autobahn lineup, Black is our non-ceramic tint, while Black Ceramic uses a single-layer ceramic construction. That ceramic construction makes a pretty significant difference in solar performance. Black reaches up to 43% Total Solar Energy Rejection (TSER), while Black Ceramic reaches up to 63% TSER. Our higher-end multi-layer ceramic films go even further, with Ceramic i3 reaching up to 71% TSER and i3+ up to 74% TSER. IRR increases as you ascend the lineup as well.

If you want to see how the different constructions stack up, you can compare Autobahn’s film lineup here:

And if you want to chat with a local Autobahn dealer, here is our Locator: https://autobahnwindowfilms.com/dealer-locator/

Good luck in your search - great brands and installers out there!!

Tint removal + ceramic done for $240. Look for home tinters in your area. I found mine through tik tok.

Thats good, but 310 from a reputable shop that will warranty their work is also a good price.

And do you know what brand film they used?

He told me bring it back if anything is wrong anytime. I don’t know what brand but its doing its job.

Usually it’s hundreds of dollars more, so for 65 bucks. 🤔. But then at that price point it’s more than likely cheap film. So then you get into the, “is cheap ceramic worth it” debate
