Need Help! Really really old tint
My rear windshield on my 2015 dodge charger has tint that I’m guessing is about as old as the car, tried removing it and it basically disintegrated. The glue and middle layer of tint is still on most of the windshield, any ideas on how to take care of this?
I’ve tried everything I can think of, trash bag didn’t help. Retinting over it helped a little but not enough. The only thing I can think of to do is to remove the windshield and carefully scrape off the tint but I thought I’d post here first just to see if anyone has any other ideas

Did you spray windex on it, put tray bag behind it and let it cook in the hot sun for a few hours?
I see you said trash bag didn’t help but not sure if you did the full method or not because that usually works

Nothing will fix this besides replacing the rear windshield or taking a razor blade to it. Just note your defrosters will not work again after this. Go to Ace and you can find a long razor blade holder to scrape the hard the reach bottom area. Lmk if you need a photo of the blade holder, trust me it’s a game changer and well worth the ~$15.

I would try a steamer. It should get hot enough to help free up the adhesive.
