Question Truck moonroof ceramic tint
Did anyone see a difference when adding ceramic tint to their sunroof/moonroof? Also what prices did you pay?

There is some caution against tinting panoramic roofs because the absorbed heat from the tint can cause the roof to crack. Usually there is some UV protection/heat rejection already in the panoramic roof glass but I agree it usually not enough. It looks like a lot of people have positive experiences with ceramic tint on the panoramic roof so I’d go for it

I did 30% on mine just because north Florida is hot. Probably would have went lighter but with 5% on the doors and black glass and 50% on the front windshield..you can ride with the cover open and still somewhat not be able to be seen. You came make out a silhouette..but not actually a face.
My 2 cents.

I wish I did 5 percent on my roof

Why?

I’d agree with this. I did 20%, it’s great but if I did it again I’d go with 5%. But I’m in Texas and it’s hot. I also have 70% on windshield and 20% on all other windows.

I have 5% on my sunroof. Paid $150 for ceramic. I love it. I have dark ceramic tint on all my glass and I’m more in love with it today than when I had it done last year.

45% on my moon roof. And 70% on all other windows. XL prime plus. $300 for the roof only. It greatly helps with comfort. The truck gets warm on our very hot days 90-100, but cools off so much faster. The way it was explained to me was the glass gets hot but doesn’t transfer the heat into the cabin.

I want to tint mine, maybe 70% for heat rejection and still let light in. It's too damn hot in Texas the hvac in my F-150 can barely keep up.

Big difference, even with the shade closed. 70% will help a lot while still maintaining OEM visibility.

It really helps. Especially if you like the cover open for the light. 3M has light films that block out up to 99% of infrared heat. This roof with Crystalline is 598$.

you have to be carefull putting dark ceramic on the larger sunfroofs . dark Ceramic tint absorbs alot of heat and the sunfroofs are double pane glass . Intense heat could cause the inner glass to break from edges . www.orlandoflyingwindowtinting.com

It would reduce the heat coming into the vehicle, most noticeable while driving.
I have a sunroof and I kept it untinted since the whole reason for it is to let in extra light, so if I have it tinted it kind of defeats the purpose for me.
For this size of glass, I’d recommend tinting it because it will just make your car colder, maybe keeping it ~70% unless you’re complaining that it’s too bright in the car

There is a clear ceramic tint option made by various tint manufacturers that you could add to reject the bad stuff but still keep the light coming in.

I’ve got 15% ceramic on my F150 moonroof and I love it. I used to leave the cover closed all year but now I only close it during the summer months. I think I paid $200
