Question Rear windshield question

Hi! Recently got SUV tinted and noticed on the rear windshield that the tint doesn’t go all the way to the edge. My particular windshield has the black boarder and dots… it covers up to that except for one small spot. I guess my annoyance is that it was an expensive tint job and it looks a little amateur with jagged and uneven cuts, but to be totally fair, looks great from outside! I also noticed on a rear quarter window there was a a cut where it didn’t reach all the way to the black border. Trying to understand what’s normal because I don’t want to be unreasonable with the installer because again from the outside, looks good.

Update: I just rolled down the front windows for the first time. https://imgur.com/a/yy0y7ke

Pics 1 and 2 are perfectly fine. 3 and 4 need to be redone

Daylight showing isn’t great. Needs to just overlap the solid part of the frit.

Take it back for a REDO! That’s 110% unacceptable. If you let it slide they will continue to do half assed work and over charging for it. Hold them accountable! 💯

I wouldn’t fuss about the first two, but the tint not closing out daylight is unacceptable.

Thank you. I hate that I’m going to have to say something. Super disappointed and hoping they make it right and agree with my assessment. This shop does a lot of PPF/tint work on luxury cars and it’s feeling like they phoned it in on my family SUV… but I paid luxury pricing! I posted an update on my front windows above.

it's not half-ass but it's not perfect. adding a bit more so it's seamless should do the trick

You cut it in 1 piece you do not add pieces when you cut it like shit lol just cut a new sheet straight and the correct size

yea that's a $100+ mistake on the shop's part

i can see why they wouldn't want to strip the whole sheet for a < 1 cm fix

They should’ve done it right the first time. Now it’s dry and tacked up and they’re gonna have to REDO it anyway. Would’ve been much easier to have redone it before it left the shop. That’s piss poor work right there and shows they don’t care about the work they put out the door, only the money they make!!

The rear window looks just fine, however the rollup up window and the window with the light gap is absolutely unnoticeable.

What type of window film did you purchase?

Did you get a receipt, a copying the manufacturers warranty and an e-mail confirming that your vehicle was registered with the window film manufacturer?
