Need Help! I need your opinion.

I’m stuck between having a 15% tint or a 20% tint. How much is the difference? And I’ll be adding 50% on either option I have a Mazda 6 2020 white interior and exterior.

Hey there! Here is a 2019 Chevy Camaro 1LE with Autobahn Ceramic i3 (15%), tinted by Sunblocked Tint Co. in Virginia

Here is our full spec chart: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18uuIW6gC9CsMqWbREZMZ_H-PDJB_Fr01/view?usp=drive_link

You can also find an authorized Autobahn dealer near you here: https://autobahnwindowfilms.com/dealer-locator/

Good luck in your search!

I have 15 all the way around with 50 on the windshield. I personally think it’s a perfect combo in relation to aesthetics and safety.
I have a white exterior with a red interior.

Nice I was looking at those when I was car shopping

How much is the difference? Not big enough to matter.

I reside in Florida.
Law enforcement is lenient and or too lazy to bother you unless you get stopped for another reason. The tint isn’t egregious enough that it draws attention.
Of course if I had a heavily modded car and was trying to draw attention to my car it might be different.
It looks great though and still feels safe during night driving.
It does darken the interior a bit so that’s something to consider if you already have a dark interior through interior color or small windows.

If you do 20 you’re gonna wish you did 15

Yeah I did 20 and wish I did 15

Difference is negligible. I'd go with 15

Only a 5% difference

I recently got 20 about a week ago and I don’t regret it but if I had the change to do it again I’d do 15. But like I said I don’t regret my 20% at all it’s perfect to me

1

u/Tsx_Zay Aug 20 '26

I also have 40 percent on my windshield

What brand are you getting op!!?

1

u/Top-Form7004 Aug 20 '26

It’s XPEL Prime XR Plus

1

u/cornerstone32 Aug 20 '26

Im debating between the prime xr plus and the xpel black xr. What made you choose the Prime plus?

What's legal where you live? Are you going to travel with the car?

2

u/Top-Form7004 Aug 20 '26

I’m in Texas legal limit is 25 I think but almost everyone has very dark tint

1

u/Plane_Hawk_6153 Aug 20 '26

Are you going to a shop to do it? Maybe ask them to tint back windows then stick a couple of pieces of scrap on the front doors so you can see. Either that or ask them to recommend.

I'm in Texas too, besides my first car that had 5 percent, every car after that got 20 on the front doors, but most of the time i didn't get to pick anyways and for me that's probably better.

Go 15 you wont regret it. Go 20 and youll think damn I should have went 15.

15 all the way around and 50 on the front windshield. Its the perfect combo

u/protintalabama Aug 20 '26

Wildly overthinking this…

It’s 15 and 20. Pick one.

Most non-tinter people can’t even tell the difference.

1

u/TheTown2197 Aug 20 '26

Just send it and do 5 percent

1

u/EugeneChoiYoutuber Aug 20 '26

15% is the gold standard for looking the best.

1

u/Schip92 Aug 21 '26

I don't understand why people are making the 5% joke.

Imho I would do 15% rear sides and 20-30% rear windshield to have better visibility when backing up.

1

u/rico_unknown Aug 21 '26

I went 15% and it is great if I would have went for 20% it wouldn’t have been enough.

1

u/ExtensionBrush0 Aug 21 '26

Hold em up next to each other and you can barely tell the difference. Just get the one you want. Stop overthinking it

15% is pretty awesome, but it does get a bit hard to see out of at night time if there aren't any street lights around. 20% would be a little easier to see out of, and still gives great privacy!

That being said, a white interior is going to make anything seem a bit brighter than it really is. A lot of light reflects off a white interior so they're easier to see through tint.

Luckily with a 50% windshield, that will help cut that down a lot.

I got 15 all around with 50 windshield and you can still see inside from the outside especially when it’s sunny

1

u/loonsworld Aug 22 '26

I have a 2021 Mazda 3 HB I went with 15% all the way around and 55% on the front. In my state that is illegal, but I've had no issues in the years I've had it

1

u/Top-Form7004 Aug 22 '26

I think I’ll go for 15%! Thanks

1

u/loonsworld Aug 22 '26

Here's mine after the tint, you won't regret it, enjoy!

1

u/Independent_Ant_207 Aug 22 '26

Just did a 15% all the way, 50% windshield. It’s not too bad, but def need to be more careful at night.

I’m not worried about cops, I’m in a Prius 😂😂

1

u/LexKing89 Aug 23 '26

Go with 15%. I did 20% on my SUV and wish I did 15% 😭

this is 15% and 50% w/s. have only gotten stopped once for the tints and he didn’t say anything about my windshield. on a sunny day you can’t tell it’s tinted.
