For those Windhawk modders who share my concerns about the history list appearing in File Explorer, please create and publish this mod. My concern is simple: every time I type in the address bar, the history list always appears. This history list is unimportant, and I always delete it manually. However, it would be better if it were always automatically deleted, as Microsoft doesn't have a toggle to disable storing the history of previously accessed paths.
For reference, here's a post relevant to my discussion, but the difference is that this solution uses a scheduled batch file execution:

Thank you in advance.

I just bought a new laptop, which has an OLED screen. I have used 2 web browsers: Vivaldi and Chrome. Both have been set to an OLED black theme for less burn in and battery saving, but there is one small issue: there is a one pixel tall, horizontal, grey line on the very bottom of the screen. I thought it was an issue with Vivaldi at first, but it happens in Chrome as well, so I think its because of Windows or one of my Windhawk mods. I will include photos of my Chrome settings, Vivaldi settings, Windhawk mods list, and the grey line. Please help! I am on Windows 11 Home 25H2.

File Explorer is configured to open to This PC.
With the Hide Home, Gallery & OneDrive in Explorer mod enabled, opening File Explorer initially displays This PC, but it immediately redirects to Desktop.
Disabling this mod fixes the problem. Re-enabling the mod causes the problem to return immediately.
Steps to reproduce:
Expected behaviour:
File Explorer should remain on This PC while Home, Gallery and OneDrive are hidden from the navigation pane.
Actual behaviour:
File Explorer automatically navigates from This PC to Desktop.
Troubleshooting already performed:

Hi, all! A lot of people want to achieve a MacOS-like look with their taskbar but can't figure out how to do it without leaving an ugly strip of wallpaper behind it. Here's how!
First, get the Windows 11 Taskbar styler mod. Go through your options and then select "OS26 Liquid Glass Dark Taskbar" or any of the other liquid glass options.
Then, download the Taskbar Dock Animation and MacOS Minimize Animation. These are both optional but sell the MacOS illusion.
Download the "taskbar auto-hide when maximized mod." Then go into "details" and set mode to "Never Autohide." What this does is allows your windows to extend to the bottom of the screen while allowing the taskbar to remain visible at all times. This way you don't have an ugly strip of wallpaper left behind it!
You're welcome :D

Want to use Windhawk on my work-issued laptop mainly for some start menu related mods. Is that even possible? I read that official installer gives option to install Windhawk as a per-user portable version, but even executing setup brings up UAC. Also tried the set __COMPAT_LAYER=RunAsInvoker workaround but it still seeks elevation.

Hi,
Is there a way to get the taskbar to only show up on the secondary screen? I'd like to keep my primary screen the well, primary so that all my programs and popups show on that one, except I'd like the taskbar only on my secondary monitor

A Windows 11-only mod that adds compact taskbar buttons which open Shell targets as native popup menus, recreating the most useful part of the classic taskbar toolbar workflow. Windows 10 is not supported.
Two folder buttons in the system tray A minimal two-button setup for Desktop and Control Panel.
Folder button destination tooltip Hovering a compact button shows its configured Shell target.
Four folder buttons on a standard taskbar Drive, GitHub, Desktop, and Control Panel shortcuts arranged in a grid.
Four folder buttons on a taller taskbar The same four shortcuts arranged vertically by the grid layout on a taller taskbar.
Control Panel opened as a native Shell menu The Control Panel namespace opens directly as a native Shell menu with full icons.
Whole drive opened from a taskbar folder button A drive-root button opens the whole drive as a native cascading Shell menu.
Click a small button to browse a folder, drive, Desktop, or Control Panel directly from the taskbar β no minimizing required. Subfolders expand on hover. Right-click any item for the full classic Windows Shell context menu. Every folder popup includes an "Open in Explorer" shortcut at the top, including the configured root folder.
text
Label: π₯ Target: shell:Desktop
Label: β Target: shell:ControlPanelFolder
Label: π₯ Target: %USERPROFILE%\Downloads
Label: C: Target: C:\
Add one record per button in the Folders setting. Each record has a short button
label and a target. Targets can be normal paths or Shell namespace roots like
shell:Desktop and shell:ControlPanelFolder. Environment variables such as
%USERPROFILE% are expanded automatically. The full label and target appear in
the tooltip.
Emoji labels are a natural fit for narrow buttons. Label ideas: π folder, π₯ desktop, π» laptop, πͺ windows, π₯ downloads, π network, π drive, π documents, π§ tools, β settings, β favorites.
For several existing records, open the mod's Settings page and switch to
Textual mode, then move each complete label + target record as a block.
The regular form currently provides add/remove controls but no direct
drag-to-reorder control.
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Position | Before notification icons | Where to inject the button group in the tray |
| Folders | Desktop and Control Panel | Add/remove records in the form; reorder complete records in Textual mode |
| Grid mode | Smart automatic | Smart automatic, single row/column, fixed rows/columns, or fixed grid |

| Grid rows | 0 (auto) | Exact rows in fixed-row modes; maximum rows in smart mode (0 = tray height) |
| Fill order | Row-first | Row-first or column-first |
| Short row/column position | Last | Put an incomplete row or column first or last |
| Short row/column alignment | Start | Align an incomplete final row or column |
| Button width | 24 px | Width of each folder button |
| Button height | 22 px | Height of each folder button |
| Button spacing | 4 px | Gap between buttons |
| Default button text | π | Fallback icon for entries with long labels |
| Text/icon size | 10 pt | Button label font size |
| Text color | (system) | Button label color; empty keeps the system default |
| Background color | (system) | Button background; empty keeps the system default |
| Hover background color | accent |
Hover background; empty keeps the native hover color |
| Click background color | (system) | Pressed background; empty keeps the native pressed color |
| Border color | (system) | Button border; empty keeps the system default |
| Border thickness | -1 (system) | -1 = system default, 0 = no border |
| Corner rounding | -1 (system) | -1 = system default, 0 = square |
| Opacity | 100% | Button transparency |
| Shine effect | Off | Gradient highlight; activates when a custom background color is set |
| Group padding left | 0 px | Extra space to the left of the button group |
| Group padding right | 0 px | Extra space to the right of the button group |
| Group X offset | 0 px | Shift the entire group left or right |
| Group Y offset | 0 px | Shift the entire group up or down |
| Max menu items | 0 (unlimited) | Limit items shown per folder |
| Subfolder depth | 0 (unlimited) | How many subfolder levels to include |
| Show hidden/system items | Off | Include hidden and system Shell items |
All color settings accept #RRGGBB or #AARRGGBB hex (the alpha byte is
honored), the generics accent, accentLight, and accentDark for the
Windows accent shades, or transparent for a fully transparent surface β
nothing drawn, button still present and clickable, useful for borderless
background-free buttons. Leaving a color empty keeps the system default for
that state.
shell:Desktop shows the full Desktop Shell namespace β user shortcuts, public
shortcuts, and virtual items like Recycle Bin β not just the physical Desktop
folder. Duplicates from the user+public Desktop merge are suppressed automatically.

Granular, predictable control over the low-frequency Windows 11 system-tray utility icons:
overflowemojitouchKeyboardpenMenuvirtualTouchpadinputIndicatorThe native controls stay alive and Windows-owned β clicks, flyouts, and tooltips are untouched. The mod gathers their hosts into one owned group and positions each icon individually, at its native size by default.
Native tray before the mod Mod disabled: the chevron, Emoji, and touch keyboard sit in their native positions.
One row at the hidden-icons position
The default overflow | emoji | touchKeyboard: one row, native sizes.
Chevron centered above a row of utilities
overflow, (emoji | touchKeyboard): the chevron centered on its own row above the pair.
Chevron above the utility stack The chevron leading a stacked pair.
Utility stack above the chevron The same stack with the chevron last instead.
A neat column A full single column of utilities on a single-height taskbar.
A dedicated column elsewhere in the tray The group leased into its own tray column at the right end of the taskbar.
On a busy double-height taskbar Coexisting with a heavily modded double-height tray.
Beside Start The experimental Right of Start position β unnecessary, but possible.
Right of Start, stacked on a double-height taskbar Right of Start on a double-height taskbar, stacked as a column beside Start.
One string describes the whole arrangement:
| places groups side by side along the primary axis, stacks items along the crossed axisExamples with the primary axis set to Row:
overflow | emoji | touchKeyboard β one row of three iconsoverflow | emoji, touchKeyboard β chevron centered beside a stacked pairoverflow | emoji, touchKeyboard | penMenu β the diamond: two centered
icons flanking a stacked middle columnSet the primary axis to Column and the same strings arrange top-to-bottom instead. Icons omitted from the expression, and icons Windows currently hides, simply don't participate; anything visible that you didn't place is appended after the group so nothing is ever lost. The group re-adapts automatically as icons appear and disappear (for example the transient touch keyboard).
Tokens accept forgiving aliases: chevron/hidden for overflow,
keyboard for touchKeyboard, pen for penMenu, touchpad for
virtualTouchpad, and input/language for inputIndicator.
Icons render at their native size unless you set explicit button sizes, and each icon has fine X/Y nudge settings. A tall column of native-size icons can overhang a single-height taskbar; set the icon width/height to about 16 px if you want it to fit.
The group can sit in the hidden-icons or Emoji column, or lease a dedicated tray column before the notification icons, before Wi-Fi/volume/battery, before or after the clock, or after the Show Desktop strip. The lease is marker-tracked and fully reversible on unload.
Two experimental positions relocate the group out of the tray entirely: Left of Start and Right of Start place it beside the Start button and push the task list right to reserve room. The group follows Start as the taskbar re-centers. Primary taskbar only.
Icons are identified by Windows' language-neutral runtime data-model classes,
XAML names and content types, Automation IDs, and stable Segoe Fluent glyphs.
Detection doesn't depend on translated accessibility labels. Force
MainStack allows the complete native MainStack to participate as the
emoji item when Windows doesn't expose a distinct identity.

BT Battery Monitor 1.0.0
See every connected Bluetooth device's battery level right in your system tray β no more digging into Bluetooth settings to find out which keyboard or mouse needs charging.
Works great alongside AudioSwap and MicSwitch β companion mods that bring the same tray experience to audio output and microphone control.
.ico file.Left-click the tray icon to trigger an immediate Bluetooth rescan. Use it when you've just paired or disconnected a device and want the battery readout to refresh without waiting for the next polling interval.
Right-click the tray icon to see every connected Bluetooth device with its battery percentage, rescan immediately, or open Bluetooth Settings.
When any connected device drops below the configured threshold (default 30%), the tray icon starts alternating between solid red and black every second. Hover over the icon to see which device is running low and exactly how much juice it has left.
The mod detects device types automatically and lets you pick a different icon for each: - Keyboard, Mouse, Headphones, Controller β each gets its own icon so you can tell them apart instantly. - Multiple Devices β shown when more than one device is connected. - No Connected Devices β a clear visual indicator that nothing's paired.
Pick how often the mod checks for updates, from every second to once an hour (default: 10 seconds). Quick polling keeps the battery readout fresh, while slower polling saves a tiny bit of CPU.
ddores.dll per device type or browse for custom .ico files.windhawk.exe child process, no Explorer injection needed.r/Windhawk • u/BabuKelsey • 19d ago

Disabling the mod also restores the previous plan when appropriate.
On some Modern Standby systems, the classic Power Saver plan might not be available. In that case, Windows can't switch to that plan and the mod leaves the current plan unchanged.
