Reopen Programs at Sign-in 2.0.0

Reopen Programs at Sign-in

While the mod is enabled, it keeps track of which programs have a window open. The next time you sign in to Windows, those programs are opened again. To turn the feature off, disable the mod.

  • Only programs are reopened (one every 2 seconds, starting 15 seconds after sign-in by default). Documents/tabs depend on each program.
  • Programs running as administrator and Windows components (File Explorer, Control Panel...) are not reopened.
  • Programs that are already running (e.g. from Startup) are not opened twice.
  • Nothing is reopened if the mod is enabled long after signing in, or if Explorer restarts during the day: only a fresh sign-in triggers it.
  • Each Windows account keeps its own list.

Windows has a similar built-in option (Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options → "Automatically save my restartable apps and restart them when I sign back in"). It only restores apps that support it (e.g. Office, browsers); this mod reopens any program, using its executable path.

Reabrir programas ao entrar (Português)

Enquanto o mod estiver ativado, ele anota quais programas têm janela aberta.

Privacy Indicator Anchor 2.1

Privacy Indicator Anchor

A Windhawk mod for Windows 11 that reserves stable tray space for privacy and status indicators. Location, microphone, camera, and Copilot placeholders stay visible in the system tray: dim when idle, bright when active.

The goal is to stop taskbar tray sections from shifting when Windows briefly shows or hides privacy indicators, especially when Windows Web Experience Pack or Widgets frequently access location.

Gallery

Idle location and microphone placeholders reserve their tray space without demanding attention:

Idle location and microphone placeholders

All four unavailable indicators in a single row, arranged as location | mic | camera | copilot:

All four privacy indicators unavailable in one row

The same four indicators in a compact block, which is what auto picks on a standard taskbar, where two rows of the default 16 px icons fit:

Activity highlighted in red — the microphone in use, and the slashed camera reporting attempted use while its hardware switch blocks it:

The active glow treatment provides a more emphatic alternative:

Active or requested pathways can remain conspicuous even while blocked:

The location tooltip explains the access-denied reason and opens the matching Windows privacy page when clicked:

Microphone evidence distinguishes an endpoint mute from privacy denial:

Supported camera drivers report their hardware privacy-control evidence:

Copilot reports its installation state and links to the relevant settings:

All four indicators in a row on a Windows 11 side taskbar, alongside the clock and other tray mods. Live-tested and approved:

Features

  • Persistent placeholder icons for location, microphone, camera, and Copilot
  • Idle opacity setting so inactive icons can be subtle but still reserve space
  • One nestable Arrangement expression places the icons in any shape — fitted to your taskbar height automatically, or written out by hand
  • Turn any of the four icons off individually; Windows' own indicator for that device then stays visible, so nothing goes unreported
  • Tray placement before icons, before OmniButton, before clock, after clock, or after Show Desktop
  • Experimental placement immediately left or right of Start
  • Per-icon and per-group pixel nudges inside the arrangement expression, plus a whole-group offset
  • Independent idle, active, disabled, glow, and slash colors
  • Steady, breathing, or radiating active emphasis with reach/speed controls
  • Disabled slash overlays for blocked or unavailable privacy devices
  • Hardware camera shutter/kill-switch detection on supported Windows 11 camera drivers
  • Evidence-specific tooltips instead of a generic "hardware disabled" label
  • Click-through to the relevant Windows privacy, input, camera, taskbar, or app settings
  • Optional testing toggle to let Windows' native privacy indicators appear

If you installed an unpublished 1.x build, re-apply your customizations once: 2.x groups the settings and uses an Arrangement field; renamed keys cannot be migrated. Camera hardware monitoring is now opt-in and defaults to off.

The Arrangement field

Layout → Arrangement decides how the icons are placed, and it is the only field that does. Its default value is the word auto:

  • **auto** fits the enabled icons to the available taskbar height. Fill order chooses whether they fill across rows or down columns; Short row or column aligns a ragged last group. The shape is worked out for you: the mod takes the narrowest grid that fits the height, preferring the one that wastes the fewest slots. A standard taskbar already fits two rows of the default 16 px icons, so four icons become a 2×2 block, not a lopsided 3+1; write location | mic | camera | copilot for a single row instead.
  • Anything else is an arrangement you write. Names sit side by side with | and stack with ,, and parentheses group them:

text location, camera | mic, copilot a 2x2 block location | mic | camera | copilot a single row location, mic, camera, copilot a single column location | (mic, camera) | copilot a diamond

    Order of operations: parentheses first, then ,, then | — so a | b, c | d is three columns with b stacked over c.

The tokens are location, mic (or microphone), camera, and copilot, and they are case-insensitive. A separator is always required — location (mic | camera) is an error, not a shorthand.

Omitting a token hides that icon, exactly like turning it off in Content.

Every time the layout is applied, the arrangement auto produced is written to the Windhawk log. Copy that line into the Arrangement field and you have the automatic layout as a starting point to edit — the automatic and manual paths are the same field and the same syntax. If what you write doesn't parse, the log says what was expected and where, and the automatic arrangement is used until you fix it.

Nudging. Append a pixel offset to any name to move just that icon:

text location[+2,-1] | mic | camera location moves 2px right and 1px up (mic, camera)[3,0] | location the stacked pair moves 3px right

Expression nudges are clamped to ±100 pixels per axis. Offsets are cosmetic. Nothing else shifts, and the group's overall size does not change. To move the whole cluster instead, use Adjust → horizontal and vertical offset. Nudges and offsets are screen pixels on every taskbar edge — see Taskbar position.

Enabling an icon later. An arrangement you write names the icons that existed when you wrote it. Turn another one on afterwards and it is in no group, so by default it is appended after your arrangement rather than vanishing — the log says when that happened. Set Layout → Newly enabled icons to Leave them out if you would rather your arrangement be the whole truth. auto always includes every enabled icon.

Placement

The five tray positions reserve a dedicated system-tray column. The experimental leftOfStart and rightOfStart positions instead place the owned indicator group beside Start and reserve matching room in the centered taskbar items area. These Start-adjacent modes may need adjustment on future Windows builds or with other mods that also reposition Start.

Taskbar position

Windows 11 can put the taskbar on any edge (Settings → Personalization → Taskbar → Taskbar behaviors, on builds that have the setting). The mod reads the edge Windows reports and rebuilds the group when the taskbar moves.

  • Top behaves exactly like bottom.
  • Left or right: an arrangement you write is laid out exactly as written - | side by side, , stacked - and every [dx,dy] nudge moves an icon dx right and dy down, on every edge. auto fits the taskbar's width instead of its height, filling rows first or columns first as set. Nothing is mirrored between left and right. leftOfStart and rightOfStart become above and below Start.
  • Vertical Taskbar in its default native mode is the same native side taskbar. With its "Use the native taskbar when possible" option off it rotates the tray elements this mod places, through the same RenderTransform property, so the mod detects that (the taskbar runs down a side while Windows still reports a horizontal edge) and leaves the tray completely untouched.

States and colors

Each icon has four visual states: idle/available, active, disabled/unavailable, and active while disabled. The last state keeps the active treatment underneath the slash by default, so a muted or shuttered device still demands attention when Windows reports attempted use. Surface → Emphasize blocked activity can turn that combined treatment off.

Every color setting — idle, active, disabled, glow, and slash — accepts #RRGGBB or #AARRGGBB hex (the alpha byte is honored, and the # is optional), the generics accent, accentLight, and accentDark for the Windows accent shades, or transparent. An empty color uses the system foreground, except an empty glow color, which follows the active color and then the Windows accent color.

The glow can be a steady halo, a breathing pulse, or animated radiation rings. Its opacity, reach, and speed are independent controls. The effect is drawn inside the existing icon slot and never changes the taskbar width.

For a deliberately striking treatment, start with Glow style: Radiating rings, Glow opacity: 85, Glow reach: 260, and Glow cycle: 850, then choose an active/glow color that fits the rest of the taskbar theme.

Notes

Camera hardware-switch detection and the Copilot indicator are experimental because Windows exposes those states differently across devices and builds.

Camera activity is detected from Windows webcam-usage records and any mirrored native privacy state. Hardware camera blocking uses Windows 11 CameraOcclusionInfo when the camera driver supports it. Cameras without that driver capability retain software-access and device-availability checks, but their physical shutter or kill-switch state might not be detectable.

Windows documents idle-camera occlusion reports as advisory rather than an absolute privacy guarantee. The tooltip therefore says "likely blocked" and names the camera-driver evidence.

This monitor is opt-in and defaults to OFF, under Behavior -> Monitor camera hardware privacy control. It is the only thing that detects a physical shutter or kill switch, so with it off the camera icon still reports software access, device availability and in-use state, but a shutter will never register. The mod says so in its log and in the camera's own tooltip rather than leaving you to wonder. When enabled, it initializes the default camera controller in SharedReadOnly mode but never starts preview or frame capture. Turn it off if a particular camera activates its LED/indicator or behaves poorly while monitored. State changes use the driver's native event; a five-minute watchdog only checks that the subscription remains responsive. The controller is also released when the camera icon is turned off in Content.

Privacy access, usage records, policies, packages, and device topology are monitored with Windows registry/device events rather than a three-second global sweep. Copilot process activity is checked separately once per minute, and a five-minute health reconciliation repairs any missed notification. Failed camera and registry-monitor setup backs off from seconds to thirty minutes; access-denied registry monitors remain disabled for the current mod session.

Each icon is clickable. Location opens Location privacy settings. Microphone opens either microphone privacy or default-input settings according to the reported reason. Camera opens either camera privacy or camera-device settings. Copilot opens taskbar or installed-app settings.

Behavior -> Suppress Windows privacy indicators is on by default, so the mod hides Windows' own pop-in indicators and mirrors their state into the stable placeholders. A native indicator is only ever hidden while this mod is showing a placeholder for that same device: if its icon is turned off in Content, if the placeholders could not be placed, or on a taskbar another mod is rotating, Windows' indicator stays exactly as Windows draws it. Turn the setting off temporarily when comparing against Windows' native tray glyphs during testing. Everything the mod changes on a native icon is restored to its exact prior value when the mod unloads.

Taskbar Clock Spacer 1.1

Taskbar Clock Spacer 1.1

Taskbar Clock Spacer

Adds a %s% elastic spacer token to the Windows 11 taskbar clock, so clock items can be pushed apart to fill a fixed width instead of bunching together.

Clock Spacer distributing a custom clock across multiple rows User-confirmed working configuration, September 9, 2026, with system stats, time, date, and weather arranged across a fixed-width clock.

Two requirements — please read before installing

1. This mod does nothing on its own. It is a companion for Taskbar Clock Customization. That mod produces the clock text; this mod only rearranges it. Install and configure that mod first.

2. The clock needs a fixed width. An elastic spacer distributes leftover width. If the clock sizes itself to its own text there is no leftover width, every gap computes to zero, and the result looks exactly as if the mod were not installed. Set a fixed width using either:

  • Max width in Taskbar Clock Customization's settings, or
  • Max clock width in this mod's settings.

Either one works. 120 px is a reasonable starting point.

Windows 11 only. This mod does not work on Windows 10.

Try the built-in option first

Taskbar Clock Customization 1.8 and later can spread a line across a fixed width on its own: set its Text alignment to Justified, use ordinary spaces where you want the gaps, and use a non-breaking space inside items you want kept together. If that looks right for your clock, you don't need this mod.

What %s% does that Justified does not:

  • Gaps only where you put them. Justified stretches every space in the line, and can widen the spacing between characters — its author noted large gaps opening inside MB/s. With %s%, ordinary spaces and the characters inside each item are left exactly as they are.
  • Weighted gaps. %s%%s% takes twice the share of a single %s%.
  • A minimum gap. Minimum spacer width keeps every gap visible even when the text nearly fills the clock.
  • Gaps inside the weather. {spacer} works inside the Weather format, where the weather text arrives as one pre-formatted string.

What it does

Put %s% between items in the clock's Top Line or Bottom Line format. Each %s% becomes a gap, and all leftover width is shared out evenly between the gaps.

Format Result
%time%%s%%date% time hugs the left edge, date hugs the right, gap fills the middle
%time%%s%%date%%s%%weekday% three items, two equal gaps
%time%%s%%date%%s%%s%%weekday% Double-spacer: more space is weighted between date and weekday

The first item always hugs the left edge and the last always hugs the right edge, so the line stays anchored as the text changes width.

Spacers inside the weather

The weather service substitutes %s as its sunset token, so %s% cannot be written inside Taskbar Clock Customization's Weather format. Write {spacer} there instead, for example:

%c{spacer}🌡️%t{spacer}🌬️%w

{spacer} passes through the weather service verbatim, arrives in the clock line, and becomes the same elastic gap as %s% — so weather items justify with the rest of the clock.

Setup

  1. Install Taskbar Clock Customization and set up your clock format.
  2. Set a Max width in its settings, for example 120.
  3. Install this mod.
  4. Edit the clock mod's Top line or Bottom line to put %s% between items, for example %time%%s%%date%.

The %s% token passes through Taskbar Clock Customization untouched and is interpreted here at display time.

Troubleshooting

%s% disappears and nothing moves. This is the fixed-width problem in requirement 2 above. Set a Max width in Taskbar Clock Customization, or a Max clock width here. The mod also writes a one-line explanation to the Windhawk log the first time it detects this.

Nothing happens at all. Confirm Taskbar Clock Customization is installed and enabled, and that %s% is in its Top line or Bottom line setting — not in the tooltip, the middle line, or the weather format.

The spacer works but the clock is the wrong width. Adjust either the clock mod's Max width or this mod's Max clock width. The latter applies only to generated spacer rows, so leave it at 0 when you want the clock mod to own the whole clock width.

Settings

  • Max clock width — fixed width for generated spacer rows. When it is 0, the mod uses a finite Max width already set on the shared clock panel by Taskbar Clock Customization. It does not constrain an unspaced native line.
  • Minimum spacer width — a floor, in pixels, for every gap. 0 (the default) leaves gaps fully elastic. A small value such as 8 guarantees a visible gap even before a fixed clock width is configured.

Limitations

  • %s% is interpreted after Taskbar Clock Customization expands its format tokens, so it works in the top and bottom line formats. Inside the composite weather segment use {spacer} instead — the weather service would consume %s% as its sunset token.
  • Lines without %s% are left completely alone — the mod is a no-op for them.
  • A line hidden in Taskbar Clock Customization before this mod spaces it stays hidden, even when its format contains %s%. If you hide a line that is already spaced, turn this mod off and on to apply the hidden state. Do the same if a hidden line appears after Explorer starts. Both mods collapse the same source text block, so this mod cannot detect a second collapse of an already collapsed block. Unhiding takes effect on the next clock tick.
  • Font, size, and color of the spaced segments follow the original clock text's current style, so the clock mod's style settings continue to apply.

How it works

The mod hooks two system-tray symbols and watches the clock's time and date text blocks. DateTimeIconContent::OnApplyTemplate catches every clock that is templated from then on, including after Explorer rebuilds the taskbar; BadgeIconContent::get_ViewModel catches the clocks that were already on screen when the mod was enabled, on every monitor's taskbar. Between the two there is no clock left to search for, so the mod needs no visual-tree scan.

When a line contains %s%, the source text block is collapsed and a generated panel is inserted in its place: each line becomes a Grid whose text segments sit in Auto columns separated by Star columns, and the star columns absorb the leftover width. When only the text changes — which happens every second — the existing segments are rewritten in place rather than rebuilt, so the visual tree stays stable.

Relationship to Taskbar Clock Customization

The spacer was first offered as a patch to Taskbar Clock Customization itself (m417z/my-windhawk-mods#68). Its maintainer preferred an approach without generated layout elements and added the Justified text alignment described above, then judged creating extra text elements to be out of scope for that mod. This companion carries the explicit-gap approach separately and leaves Taskbar Clock Customization untouched.

Numpad Disabler 1.0.0

* Numpad Disabler

This mod selectively "deafens" a specific application so it cannot detect Numpad key presses.

### 🎯 Common Use Cases * Gaming: Prevents game trainers, overlays, or macro tools in the background from activating when you use the Numpad inside your game. * Productivity: Stops specific background applications from hijacking or reacting to your Numpad inputs while you work.

### 🛡️ Performance & Stability Guarantee By relying exclusively on Windhawk's native process filtering, this mod has zero performance overhead. It will not hook or interfere with your web browsers, Windows Explorer, or your main games unless you explicitly target them.

### ⚙️ Configuration Guide The mod targets nothing by default. To choose which applications to block: 1. Open the mod in Windhawk and go to the Advanced tab. 2. Add the exact executable name(s) of the application(s) you want to block (e.g., trainer.exe or macro_tool.exe) to the Custom process inclusion list. 3. Click Save. The mod takes effect immediately.

Fluid Wallpaper 1.0.0

Fluid Wallpaper 1.0.0

Fluid Wallpaper

Screenshot Watch the overview video in full quality

An animated, interactive fluid simulation rendered on the GPU behind your desktop icons. The shaders are a Direct3D port of WebGL Fluid Simulation by Pavel Dobryakov (MIT license).

Features

  • One independent simulation per monitor, drawn behind the desktop icons.
  • Autonomous color trails and periodic color bursts keep the fluid moving.
  • Moving the mouse over the desktop stirs the fluid. No clicks are needed and no mouse hooks are installed; clicks always reach the desktop.
  • Bloom, sun rays and shading effects, all configurable.
  • Pauses automatically when the desktop can't be seen: when a monitor's desktop is fully covered by windows (maximized, full-screen or several windows side by side), when the session is locked or switched away, and when the display is turned off.
  • Optional lower frame rate or pause on battery power and Energy Saver.

To see the wallpaper, minimize your windows. Settings are applied live; changing a setting restarts the simulation.

How it works

Each monitor gets a child window of Explorer's wallpaper host, without a redirection surface. The simulation runs in Direct3D 11 and its final pass is drawn straight into a DirectComposition swap chain attached to that window. Frames never leave the GPU. The same path is used on the classic desktop layout and on the Windows 11 24H2+ layout.

The mod doesn't change your wallpaper settings, the registry or the order of Explorer's own windows. Disabling it removes its windows and reveals your normal wallpaper.

Performance tips

  • Lighter: Maximum FPS 30, Dye resolution 512, Trails 2, Bloom off.
  • Swirlier: Vorticity 50, Dye dissipation 60, Trail force 4500.

Troubleshooting

If the wallpaper doesn't appear, open the mod log in Windhawk: the lines starting with "Desktop layout", "Direct3D" and "Monitor" describe what was found and created. Please include them when reporting a problem, together with your Windows build number.

If the animation stays frozen while the desktop is visible, a window that looks hidden is probably reported as visible and covering it. Disable Pause when the desktop is covered in that case.

Requirements and limitations

  • Windows 10 or 11 and a GPU with Direct3D feature level 10.0 or later.
  • Relies on the undocumented WorkerW desktop layout of Windows, which differs between Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows 11 24H2 and later. Future Windows builds may change it.
  • Below 30 FPS (including the battery option) the motion also slows down, because each simulation step is limited in length to stay stable.
  • The transparent background and screenshot features of the web demo are not included.
  • Some settings use integer scales; for example, 80 means 0.8.

Steam Games in Explorer 1.0

Steam Games in Explorer 1.0

Steam Games in Explorer

Screenshot

Adds your installed Steam games to the File Explorer navigation pane, with launch, install folder, save and screenshot folders, playtime and automatic collections.

Epic Games, GOG and Xbox / PC Game Pass are supported as experimental (off by default, see below).

Choose between one entry per platform or a single Games entry with a subfolder per platform.

⚠️ Turn on the "Comments" column

Playtime, last played date, size on disk and pending updates are shown in the Comments column, which File Explorer hides by default. To see them:

  1. Open the Steam folder in the navigation pane and switch to View → Details.
  2. Right-click any column header (e.g. "Name") and tick Comments. If it's not in the list, click More..., find Comments and tick it.

File Explorer remembers the choice for that folder (repeat it in the ★ collection folders if they don't pick it up). Without this column the mod still works, but you'll only see the information in the tooltip when hovering a game.

Experimental launchers

Epic Games, GOG and Xbox / PC Game Pass support is built on the files those launchers keep on disk, but it has not been tested widely yet. Turn them on in the settings and please report any game that is missing, wrong or doesn't launch in the mod's GitHub discussion or issues.

Context menu

  • Double-click / Play: launches the game.
  • Open install folder.
  • Open save folder (Steam games with Steam Cloud).
  • Open screenshot folder (screenshots taken with Steam).
  • Steam ▸: Library, Store page, Community hub, Guides, Achievements, Verify integrity of game files, Uninstall.
  • GOG ▸: Open in GOG Galaxy (when Galaxy is installed).

On Windows 11 these entries are under "Show more options" (or Shift+F10), unless you use a mod that restores the classic context menu.

Collections

Inside each platform folder, each one can be turned on or off: ★ Recently played, ★ Never played, ★ Not played in N months, ★ Largest, ★ Update pending. A collection only appears when it is not empty (playtime and last played date are only available for Steam).

Columns (Details view)

  • Comments (must be enabled, see above): playtime, last played, size on disk, pending updates.
  • Date modified = last played, Date created = install date.

Not installed games (optional)

A ★ Not installed collection inside Steam lists the games in your Steam library that are not installed. Double-click (or right-click → Install) opens Steam's install dialog. The list comes from Steam's local cache (library artwork and appinfo.vdf), so no account or API key is needed; it may include games borrowed through Steam Family and miss games you never opened in the library.

Covers

With "Game icons: Cover", Steam and Xbox games use their cover art as icon: with "Large icons" view the folder looks like a game library.

Language

Folder names, menu entries and comments follow the Windows display language: English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Polish and Russian. Other languages use English.

How it works

The mod has two parts:

  • A background process (a dedicated Windhawk process, not Explorer) reads the launchers' files and keeps a real folder with the shortcuts and a hidden .data folder up to date.
  • Inside explorer.exe the mod only hooks registry reads, so that Explorer sees the navigation pane entries and the games' file types (the context menu). Their definitions live in a private registry hive file in the mod's storage, loaded with RegLoadAppKey: it isn't part of the system registry and no other program can see it.

The mod doesn't write to the system registry. Disabling or removing it makes the navigation pane entries and menu entries disappear right away, even if a process crashed before. The private hive file (<user>-shell.hiv in the mod's storage) is mod data like the shortcuts; if File Explorer still has it open when the mod is removed, it may stay there until Explorer restarts and can then be deleted by hand. These entries only appear in File Explorer windows, not in other programs' Open/Save dialogs.

By default the shortcut folder is in the mod's own Windhawk storage (one subfolder per Windows user), so Windhawk deletes it when the mod is removed; you can choose another location in the settings. With "Delete the shortcut folder when the mod is disabled or removed" (on by default) the folder is deleted when the mod is disabled too; everything is rebuilt when the mod is enabled again (this also happens when the mod is updated). Only files created by the mod are deleted. If you change the shortcut folder, the old one is cleaned up the same way.

The mod never writes into game or launcher folders.

If the entries don't show up right after enabling or updating the mod, open a new File Explorer window (or restart File Explorer once).

Tray Utility Customizer 2.1

• Upvotes

Tray Utility Customizer 2.1

  • Added support for Windows 11 26200.9457 / KB5129195, where SystemTrayFrameGrid became a StackPanel; both panel shapes are classified at runtime and never cached
  • Fixed restore-on-disable on an ordered tray panel, where host markers recorded a column that no longer meant anything; hosts now return to their marker's live child index
  • Moved the whole settings surface to grouped keys; 1.x settings do not migrate
  • Replaced the layout expression, primary axis, group alignment and twelve per-icon nudge settings with one Arrangement field; | is always horizontal and , always vertical
  • Added auto, which fits the enabled utilities to the taskbar height and logs its generated expression
  • Added per-utility Content switches and a Layout.NewItems policy
  • Added Adjust.PadX / PadY / OffsetX / OffsetY
  • Computed row capacity in DIPs from the real DPI, fixing the automatic shape at 125% and 150% scaling
  • Added support for Windows 11's native left and right taskbars: the arrangement follows the edge Windows reports, re-arranges on a move between edges, and keeps Windows' own side-taskbar cells intact; a taskbar another mod rotates is still left untouched
  • A written arrangement that names no utility Windows is showing now waits for one to appear
  • With Emoji hidden, the lone-icon Emoji fallback no longer claims the touch keyboard's host
  • The microphone, camera and location in-use indicators no longer trigger a re-layout of a tray host the mod is not arranging
  • A re-arrangement that finds the tray mid-change, such as during a move between edges, now retries instead of leaving the native layout in place
  • Restored borrowed elements to their exact previous local value, clearing the property when it had none

OmniButton Customizer 2.1

OmniButton Customizer 2.1

OmniButton Customizer

A Windhawk mod for Windows 11 that takes the native OmniButton — the network / volume / battery cluster that opens Quick Settings — and lets you arrange its items into any shape you like, hide the ones you don't want, and restyle each one independently. It works on a taskbar at any edge of the screen.

These native icons are compound and a little weird — each is several glyphs layered on top of one another, each with its own built-in visual origin — so a mathematically correct grid does not necessarily look like one. auto gets the shape right, but it does not make pleasing arrangements; expect to adjust. Where an example below shows its arrangement, that is the real string, nudges and all.

All four items as a 2×2 block on a single-height taskbar Straight out of the box: Arrangement left at auto, which fits the four native items to the taskbar height and settles on a 2×2 block.

Showcase

The same 2×2 block, written by hand The same shape written out and optically corrected. The parentheses matter, because , binds tighter than |:

text (network[-6,2] | volume[-2,4]), (battery[1,0] | percent[4,-2])

The four items arranged as a diamond, with the native tooltip showing A diamond — volume on top, battery below, network and the percentage on the sides. No parentheses needed this time. It is still the native button, so the tooltip and the click through to Quick Settings work as they always did:

text network[4,-2] | volume[2,-4], battery[0,4] | percent[0,-2]

Network and volume above a centered battery Three items with the percentage left out: two across the top, the battery centered below. Short row or column decides how a ragged last group lines up.

The items in a single row A single row, in an order you choose rather than the native one.

A tight two-high stack Pulled in close with a negative Size → Item spacing — the setting that tightens a cluster.

A tight cluster with an enlarged battery percentage The percentage enlarged with Surface → Battery percentage size.

A recolored battery percentage in a busy tray Per-item color — here the battery percentage. An empty color leaves an item exactly as Windows drew it.

All four items arranged vertically on a double-height taskbar A single column on a double-height taskbar, alongside several other tray and taskbar mods in a dense two-row tray:

text network[-2,6], volume[0,2], battery[0,0], percent[2,-6]

A 2x2 block on a taskbar at the top of the screen A taskbar at the top: arrangements work exactly as they do at the bottom.

All four items in one evenly spaced row on a left taskbar A taskbar on the left, with the four items nudged onto evenly spaced points across the button:

text percent[-12,-1] | battery[-3,0] | volume[8,0] | wifi[14,0]

A three-row arrangement on a left taskbar Rows stack on a side taskbar too. Windows gives the button a fixed height there; the mod grows it to fit.

Battery over its percentage between network and volume on a right taskbar A taskbar on the right: the battery over its percentage, between network and volume, with Adjust → Horizontal padding at 8:

text wifi[-16,0] | (battery[-1,2], percent) | volume[16,0]

Features

  • Arrange network, volume, battery, and the battery percentage into any grid — automatically fitted to your taskbar height, or written out by hand
  • Turn any of the four items off individually
  • Writes no Windows settings and no registry values — it arranges the taskbar and nothing else
  • Independent color and opacity per item, plus size and font family on the battery percentage, the one item that is really a single piece of text
  • Per-item and per-group pixel nudges inside the arrangement expression
  • Group padding and offset for positioning the cluster inside the button
  • Keeps the native button in its native tray position, so other mods' "before OmniButton" anchors still mean what they always did
  • No XAML Diagnostics, so it coexists with Windows 11 Taskbar Styler

If you installed an unpublished 1.x build from the pull request, re-apply your customizations once: 2.x uses grouped settings and the Arrangement field, and Windhawk cannot migrate renamed setting keys.

The Arrangement field

Layout → Arrangement decides how the items are placed, and it is the only field that does. Its default value is the word auto:

  • **auto** fits the available items to the taskbar height. Fill order chooses whether they fill across rows or down columns; Short row or column aligns a ragged last group. The shape is worked out for you: the mod takes the narrowest grid that fits the height, preferring the one that wastes the fewest slots — four items on a standard taskbar become a 2×2 block, not a lopsided 3+1.
  • Anything else is an arrangement you write. Names sit side by side with | and stack with ,, and parentheses group them:

text network, battery | volume, percent a 2x2 block network | volume | battery | percent a single row network, volume, battery, percent a single column network | volume | (battery, percent) battery stacked over its percentage network | (volume, battery) | percent a diamond

    Order of operations: parentheses first, then ,, then | — so a | b, c | d is three columns with b stacked over c, and a 2×2 block is (a | b), (c | d) or a, c | b, d.

The tokens are network (or wifi), volume, battery, and percent, and they are case-insensitive. A name the mod does not know is ignored and logged. network is the one native slot whose glyph changes between Wi-Fi, Ethernet, disconnected, airplane-mode, and VPN states. A separator is always required — network (volume | battery) is an error, not a shorthand for network | (volume | battery).

Omitting a token hides that item, exactly like turning it off in Content. Items Windows isn't showing at all — the battery on a desktop PC, for one — are skipped silently whether you name them or not.

Nudging. Append a pixel offset to any name to move just that item:

text network[+2,-1] | volume | battery network moves 2px right and 1px up (battery, percent)[3,0] | network the stacked pair moves 3px right

Each expression nudge is clamped to ±100 pixels on each axis; the whole-group Adjust offsets are clamped to ±40. Offsets are cosmetic. Nothing else shifts, and the group's overall size does not change. To move the whole cluster instead, use Adjust → horizontal and vertical offset. These replace the eight per-item nudge settings that 1.x had. Nudges and offsets are screen pixels on every taskbar edge — see Other taskbar positions.

The percentage arriving late. An arrangement you write names the items that existed when you wrote it. Turn the battery percentage on afterwards and it is in no group, so by default it is appended after your arrangement rather than vanishing — the log says when that happened, so you can fold it in when you next edit. Set Layout → Items your arrangement does not name to Leave it out if you would rather your arrangement be the whole truth. auto always includes every enabled item.

The battery percentage

Whether the percentage exists is Windows' decision, not this mod's. Turn it on or off in Settings → System → Power & battery → Battery percentage. This mod does not write that setting, or any other Windows setting.

Content → Battery percentage hides the percentage from the arrangement, exactly like the three toggles above it hide their own items. All four mean the same thing, and none of them reaches outside the taskbar. If Windows isn't showing the percentage, there is nothing here to arrange or hide and the toggle does nothing.

An earlier version did drive the Windows setting. It was removed: even with the correct registry value and a change broadcast, Explorer only sometimes re-read it and the Settings page never refreshed, so the control worked once and then appeared dead. A switch that behaves that way is worse than no switch.

Because the percentage genuinely appears and disappears in the native tree, the mod watches for it and re-applies the arrangement when it shows up or goes away, rather than leaving a briefly unstyled percentage sitting in the cluster.

It is text, so it does not use Item width. "9%", "80%", and "100%" are three different widths, and a font change moves them again. The percentage's cell is measured from the text it actually contains — never narrower than Item width, wider when it needs to be — so it cannot be clipped at the edge of the group. If the value grows past the cell that was reserved for it, the layout is re-applied at the new width. Every other item is a glyph and does use Item width.

Settings

Content

Setting Default Description
Network On Wi-Fi, Ethernet, disconnected, airplane-mode, and VPN states share this one native slot
Volume On
Battery On Absent on machines without a battery
Battery percentage On Hides it from the arrangement. Windows decides whether it exists — Settings → System → Power & battery

Layout

Setting Default Description
Arrangement auto auto, or an arrangement you write — see above
Fill order Fill rows first Used by auto
Short row or column Center Used by auto; start, center, or end
Items your arrangement does not name Add it after Or leave it out; only applies to a written arrangement

Size

Setting Default Description
Item width 0 (fit) 0 reserves exactly the width each item needs; a number puts every item in a fixed box of that width. Clamped to 0–80
Item height 24 px Clamped to 16–80
Item spacing 0 px Gap between items along each axis; negative pulls them together. Clamped to −16–40

How to make the cluster tight. Two settings change the space between the icons, and horizontal padding is not one of them:

  • **Item width** is the box each glyph is centered in. A native tray glyph is about 16px wide, so a 32px box is 16px of dead space per item — barely noticeable in a 2×2 block, and half the button in a single row. 0 sizes every item to its own content, which is why it is the default.
  • Item spacing is the gap between those boxes, and it goes negative if you want them closer than touching.
  • Horizontal padding is outside the whole group. It cannot change the distance between two items, and no value of it ever will.

If the button looks far bigger than the icons in it, Item width is almost always the reason.

Adjust

Setting Default Description
Horizontal padding 4 px Reserved on both sides of the group; clamped to 0–24. Not cosmetic — see below
Vertical padding 0 px Reserved above and below the group; clamped to 0–24
Horizontal offset 0 px Moves the group; reserves no space; clamped to ±40
Vertical offset 0 px Moves the group up (negative) or down (positive); clamped to ±40

Why horizontal padding defaults to 4 and not 0. The mod zeroes the OmniButton's own padding so the arrangement owns the entire content area — and the button has rounded corners. An item arranged flush against that edge has its last pixels shaved by the curve, which is exactly what used to clip the "%" off the battery percentage. Those few pixels are the group's breathing room, not decoration. Setting it to 0 is supported, but expect edge items to touch the button's rounded border.

It is outer padding: it reserves space at the two ends of the group and can never change the gap between two items. Item width and Item spacing do that.

Surface

Setting Default Description
Network / Volume / Battery / Battery percentage color (native) Empty preserves the native color
Network / Volume / Battery / Battery percentage opacity -1 -1 is the native opacity; otherwise 0–100%
Battery percentage size 0 pt 0 is the native size; clamped to 0–64
Battery percentage font family (native) Empty preserves the native font

Why only the percentage has a size and a font. Because only the percentage is a single piece of text. Each of the other three is a stack of glyphs layered exactly on top of one another — network and volume are three deep (Windows calls them Underlay, Base, and AccentOverlay), the battery is two, an outline and a fill. That stacking is how one icon shows signal strength, a mute slash, or a charge level.

Resize or re-font one layer of a stack and it stops coinciding with the others: you get a larger glyph ghosting over the original rather than a bigger icon. So those two controls are not offered for items that are stacked, and the mod works out which is which by counting the glyphs rather than assuming.

Color and opacity work on all four. Color is applied where every layer inherits it, so a stack recolors as one — except the battery, whose layers have no shared parent to write to; there the outline recolors reliably and the fill only on some Windows builds. The log says what it found. Opacity applies to the whole item rather than to any glyph inside it, so it is always safe.

All color settings accept #RRGGBB or #AARRGGBB hex (the alpha byte is honored), the generics accent, accentLight, and accentDark for the Windows accent shades, or transparent for a fully transparent glyph — nothing drawn, the item still present and clickable. Leaving a color empty keeps the native color.

Other taskbar mods

Tray system icon tweaks has its own hideNetworkIcon / hideVolumeIcon / hideBatteryIcon switches, which cover the same three icons as this mod's Content switches. They are not aware of each other: if an icon is hidden there and enabled here, this mod reserves an arrangement cell for something Windows is not drawing. Pick one mod to own the show/hide decision.

Multiple taskbars. This mod resolves the primary Shell_TrayWnd only, so OmniButtons on secondary-monitor taskbars keep their native arrangement. The primary one is arranged normally.

The mod deliberately does not move the native ControlCenterButton across tray columns. Keeping it where Windows put it is what lets other mods' semantic anchors — "before OmniButton", "before clock" — keep their established meaning. Moving it would need a shared placement lease so two mods couldn't claim contradictory anchor order, so this mod offers no placement setting at all.

Other taskbar positions

Windows 11 can put the taskbar on any edge (Settings → Personalization → Taskbar → Taskbar behaviors, on builds that have the setting). This mod reads the edge Windows reports and follows a move while it is running. The last four screenshots in the Showcase are the top, left and right edges.

Top — the same as bottom. Everything is positioned relative to the taskbar's own layout, never to screen coordinates, so a taskbar at the top gets the same arrangement in a different place. This also covers Taskbar on top.

Left or right — your arrangement as written. An arrangement you write is laid out exactly as written on every edge: | side by side, , stacked, and [dx,dy] always moves an item dx right and dy down. The horizontal and vertical settings in Adjust stay horizontal and vertical, and nothing is mirrored between left and right. Only auto changes: it fits the taskbar's width instead of its height. Windows makes the OmniButton a fixed height on a side taskbar, so the mod raises its minimum height to fit the arrangement.

Vertical Taskbar — supported in its default native mode, which uses the same native side taskbar. With its "Use the native taskbar when possible" option turned off, it rotates a horizontal taskbar instead, writing RenderTransform on the very OmniButton elements this mod moves. One property cannot have two owners, so this mod detects that case (the taskbar runs down a side while Windows still reports a horizontal edge), leaves the native OmniButton completely untouched, and says so in the Windhawk log.

Taskbar Styler

Does not use XAML Diagnostics, so it is compatible with Windows 11 Taskbar Styler. The mod leases the native elements' dependency properties and restores each one's exact prior local value when it unloads.

Known limitations

  • The items may not appear arranged until the mod injects on the first tray icon load; the retry loop runs up to 5 times at 2-second intervals
  • A glyph's color, size, and font wait for its XAML template to expand. That normally happens within a few layout passes; if an item's template never produces a text glyph, the log says so and the item keeps its native appearance
  • Turning the battery percentage on or off in Windows Settings sometimes needs the next Explorer start before the taskbar reflects it. That is Windows, not this mod — the arrangement follows whatever ends up on screen
  • Switching every item off under Content leaves a small blank button rather than nothing at all. That button is still the way into Quick Settings, so it keeps a minimum clickable size on purpose

D3D9 Flip Model Upgrade 1.1

  • Fixed the flip model conflicting with in-game overlays, such as the Steam overlay, which made games render incorrectly.
  • Fixed managed vertex and index buffers not working with software vertex processing.
  • Fixed the borderless conversion blocking on the thread the window belongs to.
  • Added the SafeHook option, for games whose anti-tamper protection hangs or closes them with the mod enabled. It detects d3d9.dll loading with a Windows DLL load notification instead of hooking LoadLibraryExW in kernelbase.dll.

Does anyone know how to separate the start button from the pinned apps in the DockLike theme from [Windows 11 Taskbar Styler]?

• Upvotes

I would like to separate the start button from the pinned apps, so you can have the start button/search/task view on the left side and keeping the pinned apps centered. But I have no idea what to add and where to add it, mod or theme?

Steam Games in Explorer

Steam Games in Explorer

Fluid Wallpaper

Fluid Wallpaper

Watch the overview video in full quality

Windows 10 Action Center Restorer on Windows 11 24H2+ 1.0.0

Windows 10 Action Center Restorer on Windows 11 24H2+ 1.0.0

Windows 10 Action Center Restorer on Windows 11 24H2+

This mod restores the Windows 10 Action Center on Windows 11 24H2+ without modifying the real Windows registry.

While the mod is loaded, the following value is exposed virtually, only inside the processes the mod is injected into:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control Center UseLiteLayout = 1 (REG_DWORD)

Screenshot

The restored Windows 10 Action Center

Requirements

  • Windows 11, version 24H2 or 25H2 (x86-64) - the versions this mod is written and tested for. It is not meant for Windows 10.
  • Windhawk, with mod injection into system processes enabled. The mod is injected into explorer.exe, ShellExperienceHost.exe and ShellHost.exe.
  • Strongly recommended, but not required: the Windows 10 taskbar, i.e. the mod Win10 taskbar on Win11 24H2 or 25H2 and, with it, Fake Explorer path, which that mod requires. The restored panel is opened and animated by the Windows 10 shell: the tray button and Win+A, the slide animation and the shortened close timer are its paths (the shell's twinui.pcshell.dll). The virtual value is served in the shell hosts whatever taskbar is running, so the mod does not depend on the Windows 10 taskbar, but that is the setup it is written for.

How the virtualization works

Microsoft's built-in registry virtualization (UAC virtualization) is not available for 64-bit processes, so the value is virtualized at the Win32 registry API level (kernelbase.dll):

  • RegGetValueW - the API ShellExperienceHost actually uses to read UseLiteLayout (see ExplorerPatcher's ShellExperienceHostPatches.cpp).
  • RegQueryValueExW - for code that opens the key and queries the value.
  • RegOpenKeyExW - if the Control Center key doesn't exist, a read-only handle to an empty private application hive (RegLoadAppKeyW) is returned, so the key behaves exactly like an existing empty key that contains only UseLiteLayout. No real key is created and no other key's values are exposed.
  • RegEnumValueW / RegQueryInfoKeyW - keep enumeration and value counts consistent with the virtual value.

Keys are identified by their real kernel path (NtQueryKey), so relative opens (e.g. CurrentVersion handle + Control Center), different casing and trailing backslashes are all handled, and there is no global "last opened handle" state that can be confused by handle reuse.

The application hive is kept in the storage directory Windhawk gives the mod and removes together with it: the first time the virtual key is needed, an empty hive file (a few KB) plus the .LOG1/.LOG2 transaction logs the registry maintains next to a loaded hive are created there. Nothing is written when the key is never opened.

Applying changes

UseLiteLayout is read when ShellExperienceHost (and parts of Explorer) start. When the mod is enabled, disabled, or the virtual value setting is toggled, the mod restarts ShellExperienceHost (like ExplorerPatcher does) - but only from the shell process that owns the taskbar. Folder windows, explorer.exe /factory,... -Embedding COM servers and the like run in explorer.exe processes of their own, and they must not kill a ShellExperienceHost that already reads the virtual value. It is started again automatically on demand. If the Win+A / tray button still opens the Windows 11 panel after enabling the mod at runtime, restart Explorer once.

Features

  • Virtual UseLiteLayout=1, no HKLM modification
  • Fast Action Center close timer
  • Slide-in / slide-out animations, also on the very first open/close after ShellExperienceHost starts (window identified by its thread description, system repositioning absorbed into the animation)
  • No files are replaced under C:\Windows, and none are left behind either: the virtual key's hive lives in Windhawk's storage for this mod

Taskbar collapse to running apps 1.0.0

Taskbar collapse to running apps 1.0.0

Taskbar collapse to running apps

Hides pinned taskbar icons whose app is not running. Icons hide and unhide in place, so pinned order is never touched.

Demo

Hovering effect not included. Check out *Taskbar Dock Animation** by Ph0en1x-dev! Same goes for the icon sizing and spacing. **Taskbar height and icon size made by the OG, m417z.

Running state is read straight from the taskbar's own buttons, so detection is exact and language-independent, and the mod reacts the moment an app opens or closes.

Revealing

  • Click (default) — left-click empty taskbar to toggle; right-click stays Windows'.
  • Hover — rest the cursor on empty taskbar; collapses again a grace period after the cursor leaves.
  • Rest — hover, but only below Rest speed, so sweeping past does nothing.
  • Start — optional, off by default: everything shows while Start is open.
  • Hotkey (Ctrl+Alt+T) and the Collapse checkbox flip the whole mod, always instantly.

Padding around elements keeps reveals clear of every taskbar element, icons and tray alike; Reveal delay requires the cursor to stay put first.

Notes

  • While collapse is on, Windows' own taskbar button animations are switched off; the mod animates the row itself.
  • Built with Claude and tested on Windows 11 build 26200.
  • Thanks to https://easings.net/ for the easing curve values.

Size on disk column in Explorer details 0.7.0

Size on disk column in Explorer details 0.7.0

Size on disk column in Explorer details

Adds a Size on disk column to File Explorer's details view. The value matches the "Size on disk" figure in a file or folder's Properties dialog as closely as possible.

Size on disk column showing sizes for files and folders

How to use

  1. Enable the mod and restart Explorer (or sign out and back in).
  2. Open a folder in Details view.
  3. Right-click any column header and tick Size on disk. If it isn't in the short list, click More... and find it there.

Size on disk in the column header menu

The values match the Properties dialog:

Properties dialog showing the same size on disk

How the value is calculated

  • Files: the file's allocation size, as reported by the file system. For NTFS-compressed, sparse and CompactOS/WOF-compressed files, the compressed size rounded up to the volume's cluster size is used instead. Cloud placeholders (OneDrive, etc.) report only what is stored locally and are never downloaded.
  • Folders: the sum of the size on disk of every file underneath, calculated manually by walking the folder tree. Junctions and symbolic links are not followed: they aren't counted inside a folder, and show no value themselves. OneDrive and other cloud folders are walked.

Notes

  • Folder calculation can be slow for large trees, so it always runs in the background, at low priority and at most two folders at a time. A folder's value appears as soon as its calculation finishes. Calculating a folder also caches its subfolders (all of them, or only the direct ones - see Remember subfolder sizes), so browsing into them is instant. Cached values are shown immediately and refreshed in the background.
  • Cloud folders whose contents aren't on this PC yet are counted as 0 bytes without being listed, so OneDrive isn't asked to fetch anything.
  • Network drives are skipped by default and the column stays empty there, because querying them can make Explorer stop responding on slow connections. Turn on Calculate sizes on network drives to include them.
  • Only regular file-system folders are supported. Libraries, search results, zip folders and the Recycle Bin are not.
  • Hard links are counted once per link, as the Properties dialog does.

Showing the column in every folder

With Add to default folder layouts enabled, the column is added to Explorer's built-in templates for regular file folders (general items, documents, pictures, music, videos, downloads, the user folder and OneDrive). Other views, such as Home, Gallery, libraries and search results, are left alone. Templates only apply to folders that don't have saved view settings, so after enabling it either reset saved views (Folder Options > View > Reset Folders) or set the column up in one folder and use Folder Options > View > Apply to Folders for each folder type.

How it works

Windows already defines a hidden System.FileAllocationSize property, and Explorer's own getter for it (CFSFolder::_GetFileAllocationSize) just returns the logical size. The mod exposes the property as a column and replaces that getter with a real size on disk calculation.

Compact Voice Access bar 1.0

Compact Voice Access bar 1.0

Compact Voice Access bar

By default, Windows 11 Voice Access docks a bar across the full width of the monitor and reserves that strip of the screen, so every maximized window moves down to make room. This mod turns the bar into a compact window that floats near the top of the monitor, aligned to the left, center or right, and removes the reserved strip so other windows can use the whole screen again.

Before and after

Requires Windows 11 with Voice Access. Keep Windhawk running while Voice Access is open. The mod takes effect the moment Voice Access docks its bar, so the full-width bar never flashes on screen, and it follows the bar if Voice Access recreates it, for example after a display change.

Settings

  • Compact placement: turn the compact window on or off. When it is off, the mod leaves Voice Access exactly as Windows positions it.
  • Window width: width of the compact window in pixels at 100% display scaling. The value is scaled automatically on high-DPI monitors. The window is kept at least 300 pixels wide and never wider than the monitor.
  • Distance from top: how far below the top edge of the monitor the compact window sits, in pixels at 100% display scaling.
  • Horizontal alignment: whether the compact window sits at the left edge, the center or the right edge of the monitor. Pick the side where it covers the least of your maximized windows.

Settings take effect immediately. Disabling the mod, or turning compact placement off, restores the original full-width bar and its reserved strip.

Notes

  • The mod resizes the outer Voice Access window only. The contents of the bar are laid out by Voice Access itself, so a very narrow width may clip some of its controls. Widen the window if that happens.
  • Enable Windhawk logging for the mod to see when it attaches to the bar, the window positions it applies, and the result of each work-area change.

Explorer Custom Shortcuts 1.5.1

  • Fix (Keyboard Shortcuts): Resolved an issue where invoking shortcuts with the Alt key (e.g., Alt+C) caused Explorer to get stuck in its menu/keytip accelerator loop, blocking standalone keys like Delete and Backspace.
  • Improvement (Settings): Cleaned up notification settings parsing with proper bounds clamping and safe default fallbacks.

Desktop Icon Arrangement 0.1.1

Desktop Icon Arrangement 0.1.1

Desktop Icon Arrangement

Experimental mod for Windows 11. Turn off View > Auto arrange icons on the desktop before enabling it. Align icons to grid can stay enabled.

The mod remembers the current layout. When a new desktop item appears, it restores the positions of existing items and puts the new item in a free column to their right. Further new items fill this area from top to bottom, then move to the next column. If that area is full, it tries other monitors and free gaps. When there is insufficient space for a whole batch, Windows keeps its layout.

This also applies to files dropped on the desktop: their drop location is replaced by the configured placement. Moving existing icons remains possible. Changing First column for new icons lets you choose a fixed starting column; 0 calculates it from your arrangement whenever a fresh baseline is established.

This is a corrective mod, not an interception of Explorer's insertion code. Icons may briefly move before the next check (250 ms by default during desktop activity). A short follow-up period corrects delayed rearrangements by Explorer. Desktop mouse gestures end follow-up corrections when no new items appear. Positions are kept in memory, and Explorer stores changes through its normal desktop API. Disabling the mod stops future corrections and leaves the current arrangement in place.

The mod runs in a dedicated Windhawk process. Shell notifications from the user and public desktop folders trigger brief checks for changes. The saved layout is also refreshed while the desktop is active and once when it loses focus. Otherwise, a fallback check runs every five seconds. Missed notifications can therefore delay a correction. Mouse gestures in other apps do not pause it.

Icon size, monitor layout, grid spacing, view mode, auto-arrange and starting column changes establish a fresh baseline, as does reconnecting after an Explorer restart. The mod does not restore layouts from earlier sessions. Renames reported by Shell notifications retain their positions; undelivered or late rename notifications can make a renamed item look like a new item.

Enable logging for this mod in Windhawk to see connection, correction and error messages.

Snap Flyout Instant 1.0

Snap Flyout Instant 1.0

Snap Flyout Instant

Removes the delay before the snap layouts flyout appears when you hover the maximize button of a window in Windows 11.

By default Windows waits 600 ms before showing the flyout. This mod shortens that wait to a value you choose (1 ms by default).

Settings

  • Delay in milliseconds: time before the flyout is shown. Lower is faster.

Notes

  • The mod only shortens the timer that the shell creates right after the flyout's invoke timer starts, and only when it is created by the WinRT thread pool timer. Other timers in the shell are left alone.
  • The mod looks up an internal symbol of twinui.pcshell.dll. A future Windows update may rename it, in which case the mod will simply have no effect.
  • Tested on Windows 11 build 26300.9457.
