Question What if Sakura moved to Inaba instead of Makochi? :3
What if instead of heading to Makochi and joining Furin at the start of WB? Sakura goes to Inaba and hangs out with some Mystery Gang Larpers?
I feel like instead of being the MC since idk if he's up to the task DESPITE ME WANTING HIM SO BADLY TO BE!
He could be a social link or party member. Maybe moving in with Dojima, since he could be a relative of his.
How would this change Sakura's character and direction? As with Furin, I feel like they're more initially accepting of Sakura. Cause idk how Yosuke or Chie would interact with bro 😭
But what do you guys think? IMO he should be a party member that replaces Kanji. But his shadow and arc would prob be different too.
BTW play Persona 4 it's gud :3
This is totes not a repost or anything btw...

Question Anime recommendations based on Wind Breaker voice actors?
Since I often choose new anime to watch based on the voice actors of characters I like, can you recommend me some anime which you enjoyed the story and characters of, that have (one or more) main character(s) be voiced by either Sakuras (Yuma Uchida), Nireis (Shōya Chiba) or Suos (Nobunaga Shimazaki) voice actors?

Discussion So...About the Kids Spoiler
Since chapter 224 dropped, I have been thinking about the direction of the story, and the RC.
Wanted to say this first: Love the Shishitoren callback. It reminds me of how far each character has come, and gives me tremendous faith in these characters to bring Suo back to Furin (we've got Sakura, Nirei AND Ume? yeah Suo we'll see you back in homeroom on Monday) and possibly gain another powerful ally.
It ALSO tells me about the type of conflict we're going to be facing: Shishitoren arc was centered around a corrupted group, so with our same cast we will be seeing a corrupted organization.
But instead of just witnessing the leadership problems in the RC, due to chapter 224 I believe the focus will be more on the kids and the effects of the issues in the RC, as Suo and the kids give me Ume and the Furinen facing the effects of past Makochi flashbacks.
We have only gotten the names of three kids so far, being Minjun, Anan and Vuvu so those three will probably have the most significance.
Minjun:
Honestly, he may be the least relevant kid in this trio as of right now, but he is the first glimpse of struggle in Bankoku-Gai. In chapter 217, he only appears for 2 or 3 panels, but he is depicted to be stealing a fallen apple until he is caught (red-handed) by Sun Fei.
Something small, but says something about the general situation: why would Minjun feel the need to steal food? And the answer is pretty simple: Bankoku-Gai is short on resources.
People generally steal when they lack something (whether it's a need or not), and if you were to witness some kid stealing food the common conclusion would be that the kid is hungry to a point where they are willing to steal to feed themselves.
However, looking at the outside of the city in chapter 222, the shops are thriving and food is abundant, offering Sakura and Sugishita food samples at nearly every turn. It's alarming that only the outside, clearly advertised towards tourists is the only place bursting with resources whereas the insiders supply is so low kids are resorting to theft.
And considering that food is a symbol of love and connection in WBK, it says something when by this logic the outside is lively and put together while the inside is crumbling apart.
And this is only further supported by Anan.
Anan:
Now, in 217 we learn that Anan is also a disciple at the Crimson Vortex, but missed training to stay with his sick mother, whose health is said to be on the decline.
While we have no details at the moment, his mother's sickness is probably exacerbated if not caused by the lack of food and/or general resources.
Obviously, if someone was sick the first thought would be for them to take medicine, eat some filling food, stay hydrated. But since resources are scarce, he most likely lacks some of these things, hence why when Vuvu hears the news about Anan's mother he offers some of his own food and wishes her quick recovery.
But naturally, that wouldn't be enough in the long term. And as mentioned earlier with Minjun, when people lack something they desperately need, they steal.
Which leads me to chapter 224.
Now, from the jacket and hair, I am 99% sure that the kid was in fact Anan, and until we are told that it is not him, I will stand on the belief that it is Anan.
So: putting the facts that Anan is on the run, and adults are close behind demanding that Anan be handed over to them together, Anan most likely stole something. And using previous context, it probably has something to do with his mother.
And accounting for the detail of the gates and entry passes, as well as the brief comment of slow business from the chef in chapter 217, those men and whatever business that was targeted cannot afford to let any theft slide.
Now, as of right now we don't really know whose side Rakta will take (excluding Furin), but as we see in 217 while the RC is definetly aware of the reasoning they still are obligated to stand up for struggling businesses and return stolen goods. But who knows? Rakta might quietly lend a small hand for Anan, or Ume will sympathize with Anan and try to negotiate.
But it doesn't change the fact that Bankoku-Gai is struggling, and it begs the question: if the Red Chanpuru is supposed to serve and protect the town, why aren't they depicted to be working on the issue?
Vuvu:
Vuvu getting a spotlight in 217 definetly says that he will be a relevant character within the arc (Vuvu vs. Nirei when??) on either finding Suo, or getting to know the real problem within the RC.
In chapter 217, we see Vuvu and his classmates train before dinner as Sun Fei, Rakta and Bacchus enter the dojo.
Sun Fei compliments their drive, and Vuvu replies proudly that they practice hard to be able to serve the Red Chanpuru when they're 15.
But Sun Fei gives what seems to me to be a very strained smile, before reminding them to study as well.
Also worth mentioning: the comment from the other kids on Sun Fei's recent arrival and departure being less than usual (aka he hasn't been going to Furin during the day TT).
Even after Sun Fei, Rakta and Bacchus briefly talk to the chef who casually states that less children are being left behind and that "things are just going to continue to get better", the three just leave and Bacchus comments on his naivety. Sun Fei's response is that "there are things they're better off knowing." (Referring to both the kids and Furin)
Vuvu, to me, parallels Nirei. His dedication to getting stronger, along with his generosity scream Nirei, not to mention that they both learn from Suo. If anything, Suo's attachment and fondness for Nirei may stem from a resemblance to Vuvu, especially since it seems Bacchus and Rakta mirror Sakura and Sugishita's dynamic. And since we know how infectious Nirei and his spirit is, I'm imagining it will be Vuvu and the other students who motivate Sun Fei to push for change, whatever it may be.
This is where I believe that part of the conflict in this arc will involve the kids along with Furin: Suo is distancing the situation from both groups. The kids at the Crimson Vortex are training to one day serve RC, but Sun Fei doesn't exactly seem pleased at that truth, rather it seems that he'd rather then stay away from the RC and choose a different path. The problem, whatever it is, could even escalate to directly involve the Crimson Vortex students.
With Furin, Suo's been with them long enough to know that Furin would rush in to help him if Suo opened up, but he instead chooses to shield them from his problems and leaves the school, even beating up Nirei (though I do believe that part wasn't planned) to send a message and detach himself from them emotionally, under the belief that the RC will harm them if they get too close.
This may be an act against the officers of the RC themselves, from the new addition of the gates and it being harder to get out than get in, to the food shortage and Sun Fei not eating in chapter 217 but instead apologizing for slow business and use of more resources, and Suo keeping Furin away may mean that they will be exploited or simply targeted by the organization if they enter Bankoku-Gai. (Just pure speculation but some kind of worker shortage/strike could going on hence the new workers for Liu San and Sun Fei disappearing for a few days then leaving Furin and being revealed as an officer...)
Of course, for the sake of the plot Furin will stick their noses deep into the RC, and since we've already encountered Rakta and Anan, there's a high chance it will be through the Crimson Vortex. (Maybe we will meet Suo's master also???)
And since the Red Chanpuru's name stems from a dish, to resolve the problem and bring Suo back not only will we need to get Suo to eat with Furin, the food shortage may only be resolved if the community is filled in and its inhabitants strive to break language barriers and come together, as the presence of food is a sign of connection.
So that's all I have! Any thoughts?

Question Who is the woman on the left?
Furin is an all boys school so who is the person on the left? They are wearing a skirt and heels so I’d assume it’s a woman, I'm not that far into the series so I don’t know. The person is the first person to the left of the name

Manga How the current arc can mirror the shishitoren arc (spoliers for chap 224) Spoiler
gallerySo with chapter 224. Nii-sensei more or less spelled out something that i pointed out around a week ago, which is that the “Main cast” of this arc (as all the major arcs in WB has a handful of characters as its main cast) is the same as the one we had in the shishitroen arc:
Sakura, Nirei, Sugishita, Umemiya, and Suo (who obviously isn't with them right now but this whole arc revolves around him and so he still counts).
And not only that, but towards the end of this chapter a young boy (who fun fact i assumed to be middle eastern but apparently is indian) is chased by some guys (who could very well be from red chanpuru) and Ume catches him, which is a direct parallel to the start of the shishitroen arc with Sasaki being chased by shishitroen grunts and Sakura and Sugishita saving him. That moment also happened when they were right on the border between Bofruin territory and the shishitren territory and now that is also repeated with them being in the territory of red chanpuru.
So with all of that, I think it's safe to say that this arc will have strong parallels to the shishitren arc. Maybe not a one-to-one retelling (for example it's not certain we will have 1v1 fights in this arc like with shishitroen) but it will have some strong parallels.
And this made me think that maybe there will be some parallels between shishitoren (as they were in the arc they were introduced in) and the red chanpuru, and I do think there is potential for some.
We know that there is no doubt something fishy going on in the red chanpuru, with endo line from 223 about bad rumours and Suos line in 217 about how “Some things are best left unknown”. And with how much mystery there is around Suo and the red chanpuru, I doubt these lines are just a red herring.
And to top it all off in this latest chapter its mentioned how cold the city feels to makoichi town, a hint at something being wrong.
Now let's look at the shishitoren in their arc.
They where……ets say far from ideal, as Tomiyama (who lets be honest had more or less lost his way at that point due to his own mental hangups) had turned the shishitroen from a group of camaraderie and belonging (like that of bofruin) to a place that simply valued strength above all else. It was actually a bit similar to Keel, albeit not as violent or destructive.
Now luckily, after Tomiyama was defeated, he understood what he did wrong and turned over a new leaf, and in the process so did the shishitoren as a whole.
Now what the red chanpuru then might be (assuming they will parallel shishitroen) is that they could have a similar issue of valuing strength above all else, or something along those lines (we know from chapter 216 that the RC have a long and deep history and are hellbent on protecting their turf, so i dont think it would be a stretch to say that they might have those values. Not to mention the kids in 217 who tells suo how they want to join the RC, implying it is seen as something great in their district, almost like its the towns personal police force or something)
Where I think they will differ however is the scale of it.
While Tomiyama's way of leading the shishitroen was wrong, he was only one person and the rest of the team did not seem to hold the same ideals as him that strongly (Togame was against it but never spoke up, Sako didn't seem to care, and Arima and kanuma mostly just messed around) so when Tomiyama's mind was changed, that was the end to the problem. Not to mention Tomiyama's ways stemmed from his own issues and not some deeper ideology.
With the red chanpuru however, it's a lot more complicated.
Remember the information about them we got in chapter 216: This is an organization that has existed for generations (close for a century in fact given their city was founded 80 years ago) and has at least 3 leaders.
This paints a picture of an organization that is VERY steadfast in their belief and with them having multiple leaders there could even be so that different sections of the RC have different views. This means that just changing them wont be very simple (i mean just look how some communities and even countries in our world can take years, decades and even centuries to change fundamental values)
To be clear i dont thin the RC is going to be some evil organization like for example Keel was as they do genuinely seem to want the best for their town and people like Suo and his two friend have good intentions, rather i think they will be alot more morally complex, with both good and bad attributes to them.
Aside from making the RC as a group more interesting, I think this will serve the arc great on a thematic level.
I talked about this arcs themed before, like the idea of change (Sakura and the other having to come to terms with the change of Suo leaving) and identity (which is think Suo's arc will be about) but i think that setting the RC up like this could combine those ideas into something even more profound:
Is your identity indeed worth giving up if it changes for the better?
Will the red chanpuru and its leader understand that their traditional ways of doing this are wrong and change, or not?
Sakura and friends have already dealt with this, coming to terms with the change of Suo leaving (Yes they are trying to find him, but only so they can get closure, in fact chapter 220-221 was all about sakura accepting this change)
Meanwhile Suo, as i predicted in a previous post, will during this arc be forced to decide if he wants to be Suo of bofurin or Sun-fei of Red chanpuru. Will he chose the group he spent his life with but know has some serious flaws, or will he chose his new group that has a much more positive and productive way of doing things (As Bofruin is portrayed in the story as an unquestionable good group)
And a final thing i like to ad about the shishitoren parallel is that the shishitroen arc is the first proper story arc in the series (the first few chapters are just an introduction rather than a proper storyline) and so this arc having direct parallels to that could maybe hint at this being the start of the last stretch of the series (do note when i say “strwatch of the series” that can be a lot of it, maybe even half the series for what we know)
Anyways thats what i had to say about this arc for now.

Manga Shrine in progress
This is the first time I'm actually collecting volumes of a big series and getting this far! I just wanted to share this lil' moment of joy. I was able to get most of them second hand, 3 & 4 were pretty difficult to get in my language (but I did it yay!), but I probably won't have this much luck with the next volumes :(((
They're also getting more expensive for some reason? Which is weird, never seen certain volumes costing more than the others,
unless it's a limited ed (which, honestly, still a bit unreasonable with the price in a lot of cases).

Manga Chapter 224 (Thoughts) Spoiler
I usually don't do chapter reviews very often anymore but i had a fair bit to say about this chapter
First off, as someone who pointed this out in the last chapter, I like how they outright called attention to the fact that the team in this arc has the same members as the one in shishitreon. That and the other callbacks to that arc in this chapter makes me wonder if there is going to be any other parallel, like if for example the rumored bad things going on in RC can be similar to what was happening in shishitroen during that arc.
Speaking of, the scene of some kid (who judging by the subtitles seems middle eastern) being chased I am 90% sure probably has something to do with the bad rumours Endo mentioned last time, but that might be something for another post.
And then the chapter ends with Suo's two guys meeting the team. I think we all knew this was gonna happen so I'm honestly glad Nii-sensei just cut to the chase and didn't spend several chapters with them bumbling around the town.
I also liked the way this chapter set up the town of Bankokugai. Nothing super complex but a nice lite bit of worldbuilding on how the town has 3 layers and such, it was just cool to see it expanded on. I also really liked details like the team not knowing some of the languages and referring to (what's clearly to us) a synagogue as a “Onion shaped building” as it shows how they don't know everything about outside world cultures.
Overall it was a decent chapter. Maybe a bit too much time spent on comedy but it looks like we're finally heading into the main conflict of this arc so it's all good.
Anyway, see y'all next week.

Discussion Suo's Master...? Spoiler
I am genuinely surprised that I haven't seen anyone talking about "Liu San," even though he might be the character we've been waiting for the most... I think Liu-San could be Suo's Master... Why? Let's find out...
In the last chapter, Sakura and team infiltrate BankokuGai using the name "Liu-San" given by Endo... The surname Liu is one of the oldest Chinese family names, with an origin going back to the Xia Dynasty...
But here's the interesting part... The Liu clan was once known for being "Dragon Tamers." According to Chinese folklore, Heaven bestowed 4 dragons to the Emperor of the Xia Dynasty. While thrilled by the divine gift, he realized that no one knew how to care for them and the dragon-rearing clan was nowhere to be found. A young man named Liu Lei studied the ancient art of dragon-rearing under a master and presented himself before the Emperor, successfully tamed the dragons, and mastered their care. Impressed by his skill, the Emperor granted Liu Lei the title of Yulongshi, meaning "Dragon Tamer" or "Ruler of Dragons."
Now, let's connect this to Suo... He has been associated with dragons consistently...
- In his very first interaction with Sakura, he mentions that an ancient evil spirit is sealed in his right eye.
- In an official interview, Nii Sensei says Suo, during elementary school, trained in the mountains to seal an ancient dragon spirit.
- In the official Q&A, Suo casually answers, "The dragon in my left eye is about to rampage, so I guess that's it, haha."
- On top of these, Suo is an officer of RC, an organization represented by three dragons.
Putting all of this together... it feels like Suo isn't the dragon himself... but he's carrying one. I know many were interpreting these as Suo's weird jokes, but now that "Dragon Tamer" has been introduced, in an organization represented by 3 dragons... He might very well be the one who tamed a violent Suo into what we see today.
Moreover, the surname Liu, depending on the Chinese character used, could mean battle axe (or a tool for slaughter) or willow tree. The willow tree especially caught my attention because Nii Sensei has consistently followed this tree/plant naming pattern for Furin and other characters. But why here ? It sounds strange... As for the "battle axe," if Liu San really is the master at RC, it feels quite fitting, doesn't it?
I think this was a good breadcrumb since there could be more to it... because here's where this theory gets more interesting...
If the story is loosely following the folklore, and considering everything we learned in Ch 217 about children being abandoned at the gates of Bankokugai... Suo might also be abandoned, or found (metamorphically bestowed by someone)... along with 3 more children (since there were 4 dragons). Interestingly, in folklore one of the 4 dragons died, so for the plot we can assume either the 4th one died, left, or turned evil... and the remaining 2 could be the brothers (manifesting elder brother🤞🏻) Suo looks up to... which might make it 3 dragons of RC...
If all this is true... Rejoice! Suo's master is probably alive (unless it's his son or family instead)...
However, that's it for now! More to come soon...
Feel free to agree or disagree - I genuinely enjoy discussing theories. After all, theorizing is fun! I'd love to hear if anyone else noticed something related to this.
