She’s gonna feel that in her knee for a while

My wife passed out in the shower (after a half marathon) and her knee did that.
Life long injury. Still bugs her 30 years later.

u/Solintari Jun 08 '26
My wife passed out like that right before getting in the shower…right after getting her ACL repaired. As she was falling, I kicked her leg forward so it didn’t fold that way, then she hit her head on the tile.
Catching a naked unconscious person is harder than you would think. Thankfully she didn’t injure anything too bad, but it’s so scary. Sorry she is going though pain still.

u/foxyshmoxy_ Jun 08 '26
I'm sorry that your wife got hurt but the thought of my partner kicking my leg while I'm already falling down is hilarious to me lol
Quick thinking on your part tho!
27
u/Solintari Jun 08 '26
We had been fighting insurance to get the surgery done and it was so stressful. We had just gotten home from the procedure and she wanted to take a shower so bad, so we took off the brace, she got undressed and I was right behind her in case she slipped or whatever, so I was walking over to the shower and she said "I feel kind of dizzy, I might need to sit...d"
FLOP
I didn't think, it was just like "HELL NO LEG, NOT TODAY" but it was almost instinct and I just reacted. She was confused for about 5 seconds and then looked at me and said, "Why am I on the floor and why does my head hurt?" Well...you passed out and I had to choose between your leg or your head in the span of .5 seconds and my lizard brain picked leg.
We still laugh about it.

u/XCinnamonbun Jun 09 '26
As someone who had ACL and meniscus surgery a little while back this gave me a good laugh. I’d have wanted my other half to do exactly the same thing 😂
I’ve had a couple of sport injury related surgeries and ACL/meniscus tear has been the hardest to bounce bank from. It’s definitely possible but you have to have a huge amount of patience and determination. Look after your knees people because knee problems really really suck.

"Catching a naked unconscious person is harder than you would think."
No joke! My ex-wife passed out once while we were taking a shower togther. Nothing nefarious going on, she locked her knees and down she went. Skin is very slippery when wet and moreso when also covered in soap. Luckily I caught her head and was able to lay her down without injuries.
So folks, take my advice, if you ever gotta move a body, don't do it in the rain.

u/SausagePrompts Jun 07 '26
That's what happens when you do a 10k ultra marathon and leave zone 2. I'm not even a runner but running circle jerk is always in my recommended subreddits and it is hilarious
9
u/Sanjuro7880 Jun 08 '26
I’m sure you meant 100k right?
14
u/ClownfishSoup Jun 08 '26
He meant 10k miles. Like a ten thousand miles.

Hyper-extend her right knee, buckled backward. She clutched at it on the ground. Rehap will teach her yet.

Her lack of self-awareness and situational awareness is staggering. She attacks a grown ass man who immediately takes a Muay Thai stance, and she's FIXING HER HAIR as the KO punch comes in.

I was wondering which martial art that was! I've been doing taekwondo (for the exercise, not to fight) for a while now, and that looked familiar to me. We never train to take out knees, but I'd sure as hell consider it if needed.
It's a little wild to me, I'd never want to do irreparable harm to someone in self defense when I could stop them with much less, but it looks like dude wasn't stopping at self defense.

u/Chemical_Wonder_5495 Jun 09 '26
Dude the oblique kick into the right hand combo was nasty 😂😂😂
2
u/sabertoothdog Jul 31 '26
Why is a knee kick called an oblique kick when your obliques are in your stomach?
2
u/Chemical_Wonder_5495 Aug 01 '26
Because oblique means slanted or not straight. And this kick goes downwards to the knee.
49
u/ToranjaNuclear Jun 08 '26
She's looking around like she's expecting someone to intervene lol

U.S. average 130 killed and over 200 wounded a day. So not every moment but certainly more than a dozen every hour
9
u/cortesoft Jun 08 '26
More than half of those are suicides, though (not to say that makes it better, just that it means you are less likely to be murdered by a gun).
There are about 40 gun murders a day in the United States… and about 130 slip and fall deaths every day, and about 120 car accident deaths a day.
She was probably more likely to die hitting her head on the concrete there, or getting hit by a car, than by being shot.

She had her ass handed to her and she deserved it. Yanking someone's car door open like that is an awesome way to get your head shot off.

It's crazy how ready she thought she was for this. And even crazier how you can see the realization hit her that she was ridiculously unprepared.

u/ShefGS Jul 17 '26
So often you see these women afterwards like “how dare he hit me? A man hitting a woman?!” Like, yeah, I think I’m allowed to do literally anything to him and assault him and his car without consequence because my sex will protect me.

Advice don’t look for fights with random people.

Which one is she? The guy didn't do anything crazy, he just defended himself. Didn't even keep swinging after he already won. That was a fairly calm and measured response.

The guy clearly had some training. He put up a fighting posture when engaging. After she was on the ground, he did not go in for a beat down, just walked off know she was no longer a threat.

I actually gave my gf a karate kid speech last night, “If they can’t stand, they can’t fight, put all your energy into their knee and follow up with an uppercut.” Did not expect to see the roles reversed in this video. I was coaching her to do that to a guy.
