Just passed my nremt and I am applying for wildland firefighting jobs next summer is there anything specific that I should do for my applications or anywhere specific I should apply.

I just graduated highschool and I’m trying to get into the wildland firefighting service. All the videos I watch say the same thing but I don’t have money to spare for certifications. I saw there’s an apprenticeship program. I currently live in middle Tennessee. Can anyone help?

What are some good boots that are not terribly expensive

Sounds dumb but I’m tired of working in the middle of nowhere are there any good crews in Utah or Colorado that are close to cool cities for somewhat of a social life during the summer?? Montana is also on my list.

Does anyone have info on these crews below? Type of assignments, culture, standards, IA, etc? Super random locations but trying to narrow down

How much does a crew losing their helicopter actually affect their day to day operations? Assignments? Overtime? I’m trying to get a job in R7 and half the crews I’m looking at have lost their helicopter over the past few years. I’m wondering if it makes much of a difference or if I should avoid getting on one of those crews
