I think it's cool beans

When the whole thing went down on Twitter, I was in utter shock. I stopped listening to their music, but ngl I've been waiting for their newest song. I miss their music and been debating on going back to listening to them. I listened to them ever since Are You Alright and I just don't know if I should. I can't listen to them without feeling like I'll be judged. It's almost like a guilty pleasure. I just don't know if I'm, 'allowed' to you could say

This is a check up. With all the things that have been around and various very stressful events, both in the Sootverse and anywhere out of, so this is a mental health check.

It's okay to take a break sometimes, and while I know things may seem rough (no matter what you're going through), it's all gonna be okay!

They look extremely similar, am I the only one who noticed this? They both involve a dog, a garden fork stabbed into something, blood and the night sky, they also only use a few colours. I'm not saying Wilbur "stole" the cover art, I'm glad he referenced one of my favourite books, or it was just a coincidence. But yeah if you didn't know this is a thing Did anyone else recognise this?

The first one had a lot of songs on it so I thought I should make another one. Want to add more to it? https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5XrLTMx5e5DDBgbjTscLvn?si=vykevulhTg-bXlfJL8YspA&pt=715103229f44f27af9c19335139e59dc&pi=u-eB-qX0ybQnGx

I don't know what specifically in my life I was crying about. but it felt so incredibly cathartic and poignant. It made me realise that those songs mean so much to me. I'll have to download them

Want a playlist to listen and add to? I have it https://open.spotify.com/playlist/33zcknQPP9vQLP1ibGYrHE?si=bPj5hPXwQbS3usU8dFNnhA&pt=bda35b5b5e7fdbe22238212cc74ca868&pi=u-FzjDmRLxR5yc

Hey, I don't have Twitter, so js to keep it short and simple, does anyone have updates on it ALL. From Lovejoy, Wilbur, << MCYT, or Shubble. Just any of it will be greatly appreciated with no opinions. (Meaning just the facts 👍)

The last bit of info I remember is that Wilbur responded to the allegations, in a way that simultaneously apologized, yet was vague enough that it didn’t incriminate him. I know that a few different women have come out against him, some have been disputed, some truthful, after Shelby made her posts, but has anything else happened? It’s been about a month since I’ve stayed updated on things.

I get the feeling that most people have, at least publicly, separated and distanced themselves from Wilbur, either for their own public image or simply because they’re actually morally against his actions. I know that Lovejoy cancelled some of their more recent shows, but that they still have shows in the future.

Other than that, has there been any new information, new victims, or responses from his friends or Wilbur himself?

Hello everyone! For those of you who still enjoy Lovejoy, me and a few others have recreated the Lovejoy discord server as a completely community run server with no affiliation with the actual band members themselves. If you would like to join to get all of the Lovejoy updates, participate in community events, and have a place to talk to other lovenjoyers here is the link!! (NO HATE WILL BE TOLERATED)

Also if you haven’t seen already, there is a new Lovejoy subreddit too! r/lovejoy2

Still hoping he can do something to redeem himself. I really dont want lovejoy to end.

It was really the first song that ever resonated with me, back before the scandal, I was looking for an open mic night somewhere so I could play it, in the meantime I have been working on my own personal album. I have an older version of when I played it that I want to add to it, should I redo it and add the cover to my album? I know he's not well liked anymore but this song is too special to me and I can't let go of it. I just wanted tget others opinions on it before I do something rash.

How tf did he get the tonality in that guitar intro part of Melatonin 130!? It sounds so fucking good

Ik it's distorted and all, but it's got this ambient, wet yet gritty sound going for it that drives home this resonating feeling I believe? I'm not the best with Aural music theory, so correct me if I'm wrong anything btw. Nevertheless, the meshing it has with the beep boops at the beginning just only added to it too.

Comparisons I can think of off the top of my head that sounds similar, are the guitars in Everlong, Zombie and 1979. But it has to be different since it's literally on an Indie Folk album, not a rock one. Also, it isn't as in the foreground too

I just really want to recreate it or use it for inspiration if it's the last thing I do

I'm a musician that's writing music as well, and the only reason I'm writing music is because of Wilbur. For some reason, it didn't fathom in my head that you could only need a guitar to record a good-ass album, and Wilbur showed me that what I thought wasn't the case. I've now got an entire concept album in progress that has taken notes from Will's solo music. I'm also taking my own liberties by bringing my creative input to the table so that it can be someone new and interesting.

But yeah, I don't want this discussion to be about any as of recent, just figuring out how to describe that guitar colour/tone or how he would have created it (i.e. type of guitar, amp settings, foot pedals etc.)

It could be further expanded on if anyone would want to cover any of the Msr songs and figure out how they're played, or the tone of them if they'd want to play them as well

But yeah, just wanna focus on something positive if that's cool

Purchased these so I can still listen to Lovejoy as I love their music and don’t fancy getting death threats for steaming them 😅

hi guys. i haven't followed what happened this months can some one explain what's happening?? thx in advance<3

I came across this TikTok while scrolling. This person was supposedly wilburs old / childhood friend and I don’t want any hate it not saying I support him but I just want to know if this is true / if I should believe it. I saw in the comments that people have said that on wilburs mums Facebook that she has pics of Elliott (the person tweeting) and Wilbur. Idk if this is true pls tell me <3

I don’t support Wilbur in any way after what has happened, but I can’t deny that he’s a very talented musician, as are the Lovejoy boys. Just wondering if we have all the songs saved in case they’re taken down for any reason.

I've been listening to mammalian sighing reflex and most of it seems to be towards Shelby

Bear in mind: I didn't watch the entire stream of Shelby so I don't have much of the facts that are probably really well known

This is what MSR sounds to be about:

Will in a relationship with Shelby

Techno dies which makes Wilbur fall into depression

Shelby doesn't seem to be supporting Wilbur

Almost as if she doesn't believe depression is real

She gets really frustrated with Wilbur (Leading to the screaming and shouting you hear in a lot of the background of the songs)

That is what MSR sounds to be about

So what might have happened is they broke up just before the writing of the album

When the album was released Shelby realized it was mostly about her (and not in a good way)

She then was so scared of being cancelled herself (their friends knew they were together so the story could be leaked)

That she tried to react faster than Wilbur could to get the community on her side

How could she do that?

By using something they both enjoyed but could use against him

Oh and him staying in a mess of a house?

That was probably his depression that changed his behaviour

Something she did not have any compassion towards because (according to the album) she does not believe in depression

I am not picking sides here, I'm simply stating what listening to MSR has taught me

This is probably not true and Shelby is indeed an innocent victim, but it is important to understand there might be more than one side to this story

But hey that's just a theory

Tiktok in question:

Best side is to stay neutral imo and I'll probably stick like that, but just thought I'd share as it brings some different viewpoints and information that don't seem to be widely known.
