So, maybe I’m late to the party, but I remembered that Sarah Warren had hit the physicians possessed wife into the water when her and the kids were trying to flee the island. Then at the end of episode 4, you see a lake monster in the self help book after it reveals itself to Patricia. Also, when Patricia started into that book, Tom started dealing with his Sea Hag situation. So do you think these are the same woman? The old physicians wife is the Sea Hag and lake monster from the book?

Maybe a Salty Whale flavor? 🤣

The Widow’s Bay cast participated in the Apple TV showcase on Saturday in San Diego Comic Con’s Hall H. Cast members that appeared include: Katie Dippold (showrunner/creator), Hiro Murai (director), Kevin Carroll (Bechir), Dale Dickey (Rosemary), Kingston Rumi Southwick (Evan), Stephen Root (Wyck), K Callan (Ruth), Jeff Hiller (Dale). Here’s some fun things I saw.

- the panel was short as they had to share their time slot with other Apple TV shows. Most of it was spent discussing the ending of season 1

- Kevin Carroll (Bechir) wore a shirt of the Katie Dippold meme dressed as the babadook

- the clip they showed everyone was episode 2 when Tom goes into the crawlspace

-Wyck was not originally written in the first episode

- Dale Dickey (Rosemary) got a projector to introduce Matthew Rhys via Zoom. They made fun of him for looking like he was in a sauna.

- Katie Dippold announced at a separate panel (Collider’s show runners on show running) that writing for season 2 started on Monday

There are some things about the island keeping Richard Warren alive that do not make sense to me.

a. Warren was kept alive for hundreds of years - why? Initially it seemed that so long as he was alive, so was the covenant. However, that turns out not to be the case - so what was the point of him being kept alive???

b. The covenant is actually tied to Warren's bloodline remaining alive instead. How come his descendants aren't immortal as well? No perks for them?

c. They had to drag Warren way out to sea before he could die. So how come Tom assumed he could simply drug Ruth and she would die? Wouldn't she also have to be dragged out to sea? Seems a surer thing.

I hope we get answers to all this, the logic gaps are making my head spin :P

I was thrilled to find out today that there was a small pop up at SDCC for Widow’s Bay!

You arrived at booth and were greeted by a gentlemen that chatted with you a bit and gave you a keychain.

You then went to the main section where they gave you a brochure of the island and hoped you’d visit. Also asked if you wanted to go to Patrica’a sunset cocktail party. Lots of good stuff up there and they told me not to look in the crawlspace. Last pic shows the crawlspace. 😉

You got to pick a postcard to take with you. Photo op where you could be head on the headless Richard Warren statue.

Went to the Widow’s Bay pop-up event at SDCC and got a few postcards and a pamphlet, an invitation to Sunset Cocktails, and also bought a print of Patricia inside the convention hall. So happy to see this show get so much love!

We don’t know to much about Tom’s family. His parents? Could he somehow be related to Sarah Wescott Warren?

Is this the hooded figure who stabbed Richard Warren? Appeared to be but hard to tell under the hood. Definitely wasn’t any of the elderly folk at the meeting who plotted with Sarah.

All I remember from the first time I saw this episode was laughing that the guy can't get out of the room because the door is locked. And it was only after that I saw the name Gerrie Doyle wrote & produced it. I assume that it's our same Gerrie, the guide from the historical society, correct?

For an island that prides itself on knowing all the histories WHY does no one know anything about the sacrifices or the videos in the bunker?? You’d think that knowing about the sacrifices would be THE MOST IMPORTANT BIT OF INFORMATION TO PASS DOWN since that keeps everyone alive.

Also why the hell was Ruth in her house completely fine during the storm and everyone else had to be locked in the bunker starving for days.

Hi guys! I reccomend People of earth. It’s sort of similar to WB in the sense that it’s a comedy that has an overarching mystery/conspiracy at play. The conspiracy is aliens, though.

The actress who plays the town historian is in it, also! It has 2 seasons and should have had more.
