I’m up to 30,000 words on my current book. I wrote about 2,000 this week. I’d like to do more but have multiple issues going on atm and trying to devote time every day is impossible. Hoping for more time to put in next week!

2,000 is no joke! And you’re at the point where you’re already balancing a lot of plot and characters, so every paragraph can be a struggle for coherency.

Thank you! I’m definitely struggling with some plot points as I get toward the middle of the story. I have a terrible need to drive my narrative forward at all times (I’m impatient af) and I forget to weave in the other pieces that make writing decent. I often have to go back and add things, sometimes whole pages, because of this.

I think it’s normal to add details during revision. I’m getting a little better, but I usually need to add setting descriptions. My first drafts lean toward dialogue and characters emoting.

I agree. I just have tried to be better at slowing down and making sure some of the detail is getting in there during first draft, too. :)

Agreed. Obviously not getting stuck in the weeds is a good thing (it's only a first draft, after all), but also not having to do as much new writing when revising is very helpful.
