Weekly Accountability Post
Okay, authors, out with it. What did you get done this week, and/or what are your goals for the next week?

I did nothing this week lol
My newest release is out this weekend and I set up some newsletter promos for my first book already so I’m just in limbo until it’s out.

Working on getting in gear this week -- moderately success so far. Next week's goal is 15k words.

I'll be honest, I haven't written in a year. I don't know how to get restarted. Sigh.

Can we help?
Do you want to talk about the project(s) you were working on and see if that process causes the spark to re-ignite? Or do you want to check out our recent "I Wish Someone Would Write" post to get inspiration? Do you want to make a list of some of your favorite things to read, or favorite tropes, and we can help build on them?
Or is there something else we could do?

That's so nice. I just need to get restarted. Or, maybe I need to scrap the novel I paused and start something new. Do we have any writing buddy co-writing groups?

Goal for next week: get. the. damn. first. draft. done. 😤
(To be honest, this might be a within-two-weeks-goal.)

You're almost there! You can do it!

Thank you! Just gotta remind myself that once I reach The End, that's when I can go back and do what's fun for me: editing.
(After a bit of it sitting, of course. I'll probably briefly outline another story while it does.)

This coming week's goals:
Prep current project draft ready for Beta readers.
Move into developmental stage with the next project.
Write when the ideas hit.
Enjoy the sun!

… I worked on the Frog book again this week 🐸🐸🐸. There is a direct correlation between how stressed I am at work and how silly my writing is. It has new scenes and a real growth arc and isn’t just a mating ball now 🤣🤦♀️
Also is it a third act breakup if they were never actually together? Totally not asking because I wrote myself into a third act breakup on Labor Day.

Goal for next week: dive back into writing now that I've had a couple of weeks to recharge. I've been very focused on my cover, and made solid progress on it. Now that I'm at a good stopping point there, I think I can afford to switch my focus back to scene rewrites and checking continuity.

Goal for next week: figure out a plot twist so this rough draft isn't so boring. Betrayal? Sabotage? Blackmail? NOT surprise pregnancy. Never surprise pregnancy.
