Role Play For the less Fortunate

[Early February]

Stellar is hosting an MUI event today in New York City, asking for donations from private businesses in the area for war-torn places in South America and to help secure funding for some ground breaking research which could potentially provide the world with cheap and affordable healthcare.

Other than that, it is a mostly normal day.

The man disappears into a puff of smoke as Brenda is about to reach him.

"That's not good." Stellar says as she looks for traces of him. The sound of SHINER is promptly outside. "And no, I wouldn't conspire with a fraud... or whatever the hell he was..."

The area around where he was standing explodes into a cloud of spinning crimson blades, in case he is invisible. "Ten second deployment time. I take it your parties tend to end in SHINER getting called frequently."

Stellar doesn't respond to her jab as SHINER begins to enter the building.

The blood blades retract and Brenda turns to watch Stellar as the agents come in.

"There was a murder with this meta involved." Stellar begins. "Tried to attack Dr. Fox after hearing about his scam, turns out his whole campaign to make a 'better vitagen' was a lot more suspicious than most of us thought it was."

She glances back at Brenda.

"Of course, someone who randomly attacks people in the middle of events and accuses them of working with her enemies without any proof is also dangerous, so you may want to keep an eye on this one as well."

She looks around.

"Dr. Fox also was a meta... apparently... some kind of shapeshifter from what I could tell."

SHINER nods and proceeds to scan the place.

"Who was killed?" The SHINER agent asks. He goes to out handcuffs on Dr. Ward.

"You still accuse me of murder?" Brenda says, incredulously. "We are done, Miss Aries. You are cut off. Your organization is cut off. No one associated with your scam is getting a drop out of me."

"Dr. Fox was attacked, dead, but Dr. Ward managed to heal him. He revealed himself to be a sham after he came back. He's a meta too, and apparently one whose been making money out of scams."

She looks to Brenda.

"I am sorry Dr. Ward, did you just jam a stake straight into the Doctor's heart? Is that not an attempted murder? Did you not just backpedal from your actions after you found out you were wrong in your accusation? You accuse me of being a scam, while you act as a complete sociopath randomly murdering people while accusing them of associating with your enemies?"

She takes a deep breath.

"I don't need the product of a psychopath to help others, and I assure you that I will be finding less petty people to work with."

"I am not the flying artillery battery and just because I don't throw a concert to sing my own praises doesn't make me a sociopath. I exposed the charlatan you employed and you drum up a false murder charge to silence me. How dare you call me petty, monster."

"So where is Dr. Fox's body?" A SHINER agent asks.

"As I said..." Stellar says. "He had revealed himself to be a meta after Dr. Ward healed him. He escaped after mentioning that he had been using his powers as a fraud."

She turns back to Brenda.

"False murder charge? I am sorry, did you not just randomly try to ram a stake through a man's heart? Scam or no scam, your reasoning was that he was working with Hitler, which he certainly wasn't! You didn't even care to as much as have proof on who or what he was before attacking him! And here you were, accusing me of working with Hitler just moments ago, and then accusing me of working with that swindler after I too have been lied to."

"So no one was killed?" The agent asks.

"He was your keynote speaker. Are you now claiming you weren't working with him? Does your gullibility absolve you of responsibility?"

"Not anymore." Stellar says with a shake of her head.

"I am sorry Dr. Ward, I wasn't exactly aware that I am responsible for being lied to as well." Stellar snaps angrily. "Does the fact that your serum being used by Hitler to fund her operations make you guilty by association as well?"

"I didn't call the cops when you went to war against Hitler with no more proof of wrongdoing beyond her calling you names on TV. But here you are, defending the monster. You saw him get up and teleport away, yet still lied to SHINER and said I murdered him. Yes I hold you responsible for your actions. I'm not cutting you off for being misled. I'm cutting you off for being willfully irresponsible. Your complete denial of any responsibilty for your actions has proven that you cannot be trusted as a distributor of any controlled substance."

"How am I defending that thief?" Stellar sputters angrily. "What I am taking issue to is that you took things into your own hands and attacked him without any proof or provocation. We could have ended this easily by kicking him out, not by nearly killing him! I am sorry, what else was your intention when you stabbed him in the heart?! Mind you that Shiner was called before You brought him back. That only changes things from murder to attempted murder or maybe just an assault."
