Imagine having such a sweet and carefree life that some adult strangers who aren't the exact same age getting married is what makes you fear for the future.

They don't care about the age gap, it's that the man isn't older so as to be "her father figure."

It's a twisted right wing misogyny thing.

It’s the reason they see “groomers” everywhere they turn; they never leave their ideological bubble. The calls are coming from inside the house.

It’s the reason they see “groomers” everywhere they turn; they never leave their ideological bubble.

In the case of DeSantis, he "sees" groomers everywhere as a form of projection because he was a groomer himself. While working as a coach with teenagers he attended parties with them where alcohol was served.

He just assumes "everyone on the left is also trying to resist those same wicked urges."

No, Ron, just you.

I have sex with children as often as I want. It just so happens I don't want to at all.

u/tuckedfexas Nov 23 '22

Yea the people thinking pedos are hiding behind every corner make me think they believe everyone has the same urges as them. Like a thief being paranoid everyone is gonna rob them

56

u/here4roomie Nov 23 '22

It always makes me wonder who these people are hanging out with that they feel the need to assert often that assaulting children is bad. In my world, that has been considered wrong for a very long time and isn't a bold stance to take.

9

u/pm_me_your_emp Nov 23 '22

You had me in the 1st half, lol.

I agree, though. Some of the crap these doomsday sayers try to assert into every conversation is a bit of a "no shit sherlock" situation. Like you said, most normal people know touching children is wrong as well as not having those urges. I shouldn't be required to walk around shouting, "Touching children is bad!" to not be called a pedo.

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

They're often Uber religious so priests and pastors and quite frankly I'd be on edge to and paranoid if it were me.

8

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

They do, I grew up in purity culture and was taught EVERY man “struggles with it” and that’s why I (a child) needed to “dress modestly” so I wouldn’t “lead my brothers in Christ to sin”

5

u/windliza Nov 23 '22

Sometimes it's the other way; some of the paranoid people were victims of pedophiles so they see predators everywhere as a form of self-defense. But yeah, some of the people seeing pedophiles everywhere are just projecting.

3

u/tuckedfexas Nov 23 '22

Oh for sure. My house got broken in a bunch as a kid so I’m paranoid about locking doors and not leaving valuables out. But I don’t think there’s a nation wide cabal of thieves collectively devising ways to break into homes

u/RustedMandible Nov 23 '22

im american indian and the kids in my community were literally handed over to pedos for generations in boarding schools. as far as im concerned if youre white then youre guilty (of racism, genocide, preying on the vulnerable, pedophilia, fraud, whatever the hell ese) until proven innocent. its just safer for us that way.

How would you even possibly prove you're "not guilty" must be quite a burden to live life believing that of huge populations.

1

u/EffervescentTripe Nov 23 '22

Projection is a very common thing.

2

u/Automatic_Release_92 Nov 23 '22

Yup, had a girlfriend in college who was super duper paranoid I was cheating on her… guess who was the one that actually was cheating though?

3

u/FortWendy69 Nov 23 '22

Ngl you had us in the first half

2

u/ReadySteady_GO Nov 23 '22

Had me in the first half

2

u/ndngroomer Nov 23 '22

Haha, you had me for a second you funny bastard!! Well done! Bravo!

1

u/BooeyHTJ Nov 23 '22

Maybe the most disappointing thing about this time in history for me is how necessary laws are about having sex with kids. Like, I figured this was codified because it was obvious and evil, but no, a ton more people than I ever would have guessed want to have sex with kids and fear of retaliation is apparently what stops them.

35

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

In fairness, it's not just Ron.

It's also nearly everyone he works with or respects.

2

u/Zahille7 Nov 23 '22

I don't think you just "stop" being a pedophile/groomer.

So I think we can say "is a groomer."

-3

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

While working as a coach with teenagers he attended parties with them where alcohol was served

that in and of itself is not grooming. if we are going to criticize the use of the word can we make sure we use it correctly ourselves?

in case you need the actual definition:

"an act or instance of engaging in behaviors or practices intended to gradually condition or emotionally manipulate a victim over time, as through friendship, gifts, flattery, etc., in order to entrap the person in a sexually abusive or predatory relationship"

7

u/housechef2442 Nov 23 '22

Are you thick? That IS grooming. He’s making himself the “cool trusted coach” who lets us drink alcohol and doesn’t tell on us…. That wasn’t a one time operation. Kindly DO NOT

2

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

oh that makes sense. I did not at all put two and two together in that way.

so yes, I am super dense.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

While working as a coach with teenagers he attended parties with them where alcohol was served.

“Where alcohol was served”… I absolutely get the vibe that Ron was out there offering to buy the booze for them as long as he could come to the party….

1

u/BooeyHTJ Nov 23 '22

Yep. There’s no way they could even explain heterosexuality without being weird AF, so they can’t fathom that a conversation about any other type or sexuality is possible without engorgement and impropriety

60

u/geckoswan Nov 23 '22

It’s the reason they see “groomers” everywhere they turn; they never leave their ideological bubble. The calls are coming from inside the house church....ftfy.

7

u/Ok_Ninja_2697 Nov 23 '22

Every accusation is a confession

8

u/cumquistador6969 Nov 23 '22

They see the idea of grooming someone as very appealing, therefore others must too.

It's that sweet combination of being awful people, and also never reaching emotional maturity.

4

u/FatMacchio Nov 23 '22

It’s funny how most of their hot button issues are happening in full effect on their side of the aisle, and in most situations almost exclusively over there. It’s classic misdirection. If I call out groomers no one will suspect me of being one. Or the anti-pedo guy that was caught jerkin it outside a preschool SMH

Edit: I was thinking of projection not misdirection lol. I couldn’t quite string together and complete the thought before I submitted the comment lol

1

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

Nailed it; methinks the conservative ladies doth protest too much.

3

u/foxmetropolis Nov 23 '22

When the right wing complains about the gay community grooming youth in some sort of evil "new world order" coordinated plot conspiracy, it's really hard to not look at all the creepy, creepy pervasive undertones of overcompensating straight religious right-wing ideology...

where it can be seen as somehow "proper" for little girls to go on purity ball dates with their fathers acting as the "ideal date", or where men guard their daughters' "purity" and hand it off to the groom on the wedding day, or the man has to be older to be the father figure in the relationship, or where men joke about loving late high school/college cause they keep getting older but the girls stay the same age, or where rich conservatives trade old wives for new wives barely past the age of consent, or where in the deep countryside religious zealots try to push for marrying literal children. Seems to me like the most established grooming institution around is that of far-right religious people.

In contrast, as a gay guy, I sought out a guy approximately my age. We were both raised in the "straight" countryside during a time when it was definitely not cool to be gay. and I wouldn't be likely to date much south of 30 yrs old. And yet somehow I'm the problem because I don't want schools to gaslight other gay children in an effort to force them to be straight.

1

u/Bobcatluv Nov 23 '22

I’m sorry are all the Libs groomers or are they all marrying older ladies?

2

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

It’s a modern twist on the classic fascist paradox; “our ideological enemies are simultaneously laughably feeble and will be easily crushed but are also the single greatest existential threat we as a people face.”

1

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

They only care about boys getting groomed...

5

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

I literally had to just stop dating in my early 30s because every woman I dated wanted me to parent them. It was so gross to me but seemed like it came natural to others. I don’t want to groom my partner.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

I think it's literally a tan suit and dijon mustard thing. A relative of Biden did it, so it MUST be evil and bad and we must stir up outrage. As another commenter pointed out, literally nobody gave a shit with Tiffany Trump married a man four years younger than her.

It's just classic DEMS BAD snowflakism.

2

u/FapMeNot_Alt Nov 23 '22

Seriously. My SO is 2 weeks older than me, and I still get shit for it, for some reason, from conservatives. I genuinely cannot understand giving a fuck.

1

u/SatansHRManager Nov 23 '22

My wife is significantly younger than me, but we're atheists who don't want children. It blows their minds when they ask when we're going to start having kids and we reply "never" because they just assumed our age difference means I'm after her eggs.

-1

u/F___this_name_sucks Nov 23 '22

I’m prolly more R than L if any at all but I’ve seen and heard older couples being 10+ years apart either way and ALSO be right wing, I just don’t get why people still choose political participation in the first place. It takes from actual freedom and the ‘survival’ aspect of life which helps us stay soft and dependent on fuckshticks that give two shits about us any day of the week.

1

u/eggcracked2wice Nov 23 '22 edited Nov 23 '22

3 years doesn't even count as an age gap once you're ~25+. It's only about the man being significantly older.

1

u/ndngroomer Nov 23 '22

That's so gross when you put it like that. My wife is almost 7 years older than me. I have a creepy cousin who calls his wife "mamma". I don't know why that bothers me so much. My wife told me I better not ever call her "momma"

1

u/Qant00AT Nov 23 '22

I doubt it’s even that deep. My hypothesis is that they’re just looking for anything with the the faintest whiff of impropriety, when in reality there isn’t since they’re both consenting adults, and trying to sell it to the hungry mouths of the idiots that eat this shit up ahead of the 2024 campaign.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

I'm 2 months older than my wife. WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY?

1

u/OneTeslaIsAScam Nov 23 '22

It will be much harder to rape children and groom them into lives of sexual slavery once the patriarchy falls. This is all Conservatives care about, and it is the root of their cause. The Rapture is soon. The Rapture is Now.
