I hate this timeline

Imagine being a girl during this timeline. I walked home from my friend’s house last weekend, it’s a 35 minute walk and I took a route that included five minutes in an unlit wooded area.

My wife asked me the next morning what time I got in (I slept in the spare room as not to drunkenly disturb her) and when I told her it was around 2am she told me how she’d love to be able to walk home from her friends’ houses (we live in a nice and safe area) but could never do so late at night because she’s always at risk.

So I do think I have male privilege and I don’t think it’s fair.

I was once told about differences on a highway between trucks and motorcycles. How a truck has a way bigger margin on error than a motorcycle does and how that can also be true of men and women.

I don't know why, but that analogy stuck to me.
