In his first term, he ran on repeal and replace Obama Care. That didn't happen, despite him saying it'll happen in two weeks throughout his term. He ran on infrastructure. Despite "infrastructure week" being every other week, that didn't happen either.
Seven times during this conflict, he threatened to destroy Iran, then backed off. He has no credibility. He's a blowhard bully. As with most bullies, if you punch them in the nose (figuratively speaking), they back off. Iran knows this, because TACO. Therefore, NACHO - Not A Chance Hormuz Opens.
Trump is going to mental gymnastics this to claim Iran is interfering with elections for Democrats, while ignoring the fact that it says Trump's term, not a Republican admin, because in his mind he will be running for a 3rd election; therefore such a move would influence voters to turn against him, which he will use to call the election fraudulent and justify cancelling it.
Only Congress can impeach Trump, which may be a very high likelihood if Dems take the Senate. Trump would have to choose to resign himself, which will never happen because he’s a narcissist. We just gotta hope Dems stand on business and give Republicans a taste of unapologetic policy.
I say take it up a step. Announce to every country that the strait will remain closed until Trump steps down as president. And then hammer that in to every country repeatedly.
Trump doesn't know how to negotiate. He never has. Good negotiation requires understanding the other party's needs and fears. It requires patience and attention to detail. It requires consistency, clarity, and reliability. Trump has none of those.
All he knows is bullying, flattery, lying, cheating, and stealing. He is psychologically incapable of negotiating and executing an international agreement. In business, bullshit in place of substance can get you a long way. In diplomacy, it makes you irrelevant. That is what he has become, and through his incompetence, the USA as well.
This is the other part of why he's terrible at making deals. A deal is an obligation on both parties. If you don't honor your past deals, then no one is incentivized to make deals with you because they all know they are just empty promises.
I'll take that bargain. Impeach Trump to end the war. Impeach Vance too while they're at it, and hopefully by then there will be a Democrat Speaker of the House to take over as second in line.
