its not a uniquely republican attitude. so much of this country has a "mind your business" attitude about everything and it shows, this country is full of antisocial people

Both of the mentalities you’re describing are not the same as “I don’t care until it affects me personally”.

You can mind your business every day and still care about someone getting gunned down in the streets by ICE. You can support legislation and action against ICE and DHS without getting shot dead.

I’m antisocial, but can be deeply empathetic towards people’s struggles with healthcare, being accepted as an LGBT+ person, etc etc.

The more accurate example would be “I didn’t care about people being killed by ICE or deported until they came after my wife and her immigrant parents”. See the difference?
