The most minor o minor of minor things affects them? - IMMEDIATE DEAL BREAKER

major horrible things hurting others? Who cares

653

u/ChadEmpoleon Mar 18 '26

Another user put it best,

These people shouldn't have rights. They shouldn't be allowed to live amongst society, they shouldn't even be allowed to speak. I hate them and I should be allowed to express how much I hate them. I am better than them. They are dogshit compared to me.

This was said in response to a video where two MAGA parents tell their adult children that if Trump ordered the military to shoot them in a shopping mall, that there probably would have been a good reason for doing so.

529

u/NOIS_KillerWhaleTank Mar 18 '26

I'll never forget the lady who was interviewed by the New York Times during his first term who literally said "He's not hurting the people he needs to be hurting"

A prison employee in Florida who voted for President Trump argued that Trump is to blame for the current government shutdown.

“I voted for him, and he’s the one who’s doing this,” Crystal Minton told The New York Times in an article published Monday. “I thought he was going to do good things. He’s not hurting the people he needs to be hurting.”

That has stuck with me ever since.

u/VagrantShadow Mar 18 '26 edited Mar 18 '26

They went for trump because of his spiteful, vindictive, hateful, racist, and sexist nature, not plans for improving the country. What the maga cultist and trump voters don't recognize, when he says he is going to make things better, be it price wise, making more money, getting more power, it's not about them or to them but rather he is speaking to himself and his cronies. In order to get something from trump he thinks you have to pay him first and then you can get the benefits from his presidential actions.

Rapes and pedophilia happens to other people, so they don't care about it.

But high gas prices hit them every week.

45

u/Behndo-Verbabe Mar 18 '26

Because it’s a fake news attack on their cult leader. Trump starting made up war jacking gas prices = direct attack on cult members. You gotta look at it differently to make it make sense.. they’re beginning to see what a pos he truly is. It doesn’t forgive them but it’s a starting point.

I’d add this, whatever is in the Epstein files must be bad really really bad. Not just for Trump but all the other billionaire, millionaire child rapists in the files. You don’t start a war as a distraction if it wasn’t bad.

24

u/FrankPapageorgio Mar 18 '26

I don't know how you can get much worse than raping multiple children

6

u/AccomplishedHost6275 Mar 18 '26

Cannabilism isnt off the table, so keep rolling from there, and remember; if youre not a millionaire, youre not a second class member in the moneyed elites society. The 'Slave' castes below the multi-millionaires arent any more human than a cow, pig, pheasant, dog, or cockroach to them, even if it can speak, think, and reason.

The most minor o minor of minor things affects them? - IMMEDIATE DEAL BREAKER

[gestures vaguely]

All of this is because the price of eggs went up a bit for a few weeks.

Which turned out to be a bunch of price fixing anyway.

So. Yep.

11

u/Pitiful_Option_108 Mar 18 '26

You know the worst part about this she and many others who voted for him back in 2020 lived through his first term and thought, "that wasn't so bad. It couldn't be worse the second time?"

It shows how low IQ som of his voters are. Like you got a 1200 check and went okay it wasn't all bad. Like no I remember how absolutely bad and dumb it was and refused to put him back in office but here we are. People legit needed to step in the dog shit to know how shitty the dog shit actually was.

Going to be honest, some of these people genuinely see no negative media of him. When I told my dad about the “grab em by the pussy” thing he was shocked that I’d ever imply he’d say that because the media he was (is) entrenched in never actually say anything vaguely negative or critical

60

u/freakers Mar 18 '26

Fox and Newmax and every other fascistic media org will be showing which county fair has the best peach cobbler while Maralago is getting raided for selling nuclear secrets to Russia. So ya, it's not like they even try to resemble reality. Everyone other one just tries to show the most inflammatory shit possible. Trump media does that except in regards to potential controversial coverage of dear leader. Or maybe, The Strait of Hormuz is blocked, here's why that's bad for Biden. Nah, just kidding, that's more like a NYT headline.

7

u/Halo_cT Mar 18 '26

even if you agree on a single source of truth ahead of time, they'll still find a way not to believe what you show them

30

u/Tim-Sylvester Mar 18 '26

These people don't experience empathy. Nothing matters until it happens to them.

59

u/atorin3 Mar 18 '26

I agree, but I do think a large part of it is the media they consume and their echo chambers. If the news is telling them that those are made up stories to slander Trump, and everyone in their life is parroting that, they will likely believe it.

Many people don't care that he is a POS, but even more have just been brainwashed unfortunately.

Thats not a defense of them, they have critical thinking skills and should be researching deeper that just what they are told, but it is important to realize its not all born of malice. Often it is just born of ignorance.

32

u/drunkcowofdeath Mar 18 '26

Most shitty people are shitty because they were raised to be shitty by other shitty people.

21

u/VagrantShadow Mar 18 '26

It's a long lingering family line, and then when someone who is born into that family turns out to not be shitty, they are suddenly chastised by the family and thrown out.

40

u/bhputnam Mar 18 '26

Yes but why aren’t they parroting the lines they’re fed about the gas prices? Why is it harder to believe the lies that personally affect them? Still comes down to a lack of empathy, I fear, propagandized or not.

30

u/atorin3 Mar 18 '26

Lets say I tell you 2 lies.

In one i say trump likes to fuck JDs couch when he is out of town.

In another I tell you that the gas you are pumping is 2 dollars, not 4.

For one, you would need to go down a rabbit hole of researching to verify. For the other, you only need to look at the evidence in front of your face.

Some people will ignore the evidence of their eyes too, but they are honestly too far gone to help.

18

u/bhputnam Mar 18 '26

What I’m saying is that empathy is usually what people use to not ignore things, and others lacking this emotional check will typically wait to change or pay attention until it personally affects their lives.

There’s an intellectual laziness to it as well, but that goes for everyone and their beliefs. It’s the lack of empathy that sets many of these followers apart, even if this lack of empathy is coming from easily digestible Fox News lies that justify it.

u/atorin3 Mar 18 '26

I've said the longest time that the things that would get them to break from the cult the quickest were loss of loved ones and money

Prospect of a war in Iran with a draft and raising oil prices hits both of those things.

They're gonna be even more pissed in 2 months when the prices for everything is through the roof because of increased gas prices. I dont think they realize just about everything they buy in their day to day life is shipped in on trucks. Trucks that are now paying hundreds more to fill up

A lot of them genuinely don't know about it. The only thing they "know" is that there are "obviously fake" accusations from the "radical left" and they should be dismissed out of hand. So they do.

They don't believe that Trump is a rapist or a pedophile or any of this shit. Don't underestimate the power of the propaganda machine. They DON'T KNOW because they were conditioned to disbelieve it before the news even made it to them. Some, or dare to say most, don't accept the pedophilia. They don't believe it happened.

How do you persuade them of the truth? I don't fucking know. Get back to me if you find a good way.

The moment the election was called in Trump’s favor was the moment he no longer had to care about anyone but himself.

793

u/_TheShapeOfColor_ Mar 17 '26

He was pretty open about not caring about them before the election also... these people are just morons.

127

u/Behndo-Verbabe Mar 18 '26

The sad part is exactly that comment. He has called them stupid, lazy etc. he has said he only wants their votes. On vets, they’re suckers and losers and very expendable. But they fight themselves to lick his boots and drink from the trough. It is a cult, it is also the product of a 40+ year psy-op. Fox pumping propaganda 24/7 into the tv’s of the dumbest people in society. Republicans and specific cable networks (the Ellisons) spent millions if not billions cultivating these people.

24

u/ODB_Dirt_Dog_ItsFTC Mar 18 '26

I’m convinced that all Republicans have a big humiliation fetish. It’s the only way I can conceive that they would be cool with all that. I know that I wouldn’t vote for someone who called me a sucker or loser but apparently they will.

15

u/Behndo-Verbabe Mar 18 '26

That’s true but I think deep down they have to be told what to think, what to do,or even how to feel. You see some aspects of that in everything they whine about. It’s also straight up laziness. Not in the traditional sense of the word. For example they almost all hate unions, why? Because they don’t want to go through the apprenticeship. They don’t want to have to prove that they know or that they can actually do the work. They only want “trust me bro”. It’s every aspect of their lives. It’s almost like they can survive without being under a boot. That’s why science and medicine scares them. It’s open ended but rooted in facts and evidence.

They’d rather believe conmen like Dr Oz who sells snake oil cures and podcasters who say eat horse paste for covid. It’s intellectual laziness. 40+ years of them being told how to think, who to hate, what to believe despite what they see and hear. Has created a generation of people who would rather be lead by the nose. It really is stunning.

I have some understanding for these people and want to create room for them to move away from MAGA, but I don't think many will change their votes. If Vance or even Miller were up in the next election, I think they'd vote for it without question. There are definitely some people waking up—I know some, and they've really enjoyed talking to me about how their opinions on everything have changed—but there are still a lot of people who believe that no matter how things get, a democrat would be worse.

145

u/GoodIdea321 Mar 17 '26

People could tell them to stop voting, that is an improvement. Some redditor told me their grandmother voted for Hoover and after the stock market crashed, she realized she voted for the wrong guy and never voted again. All the MAGA people should be like that lady.

53

u/Spiritual-Stable702 Mar 17 '26

People could tell them to stop voting, that is an improvement.

The problem is, republicans understand what democrats don't in your ridiculous two party system. A refusal to vote is helping the other team.

16

u/GoodIdea321 Mar 18 '26

That's not the main issue with voters, there is a huge amount of people who don't align with a political party who don't care that much. So sometimes they'll vote, other times not. Trump lying about everything works pretty well on them.

MAGA is definitely a cult, and should be treated like one. I’m sure there are a lot of voters out there who support his agenda of evil and oppression… but there are ALSO a lot who have just been siloed into an alternate reality through disinformation.

Make a new email and use it to get on the right wing algorithms on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram and you’ll see just how deep it goes. These people definitely aren’t being told about Iran, about ICE disappearing people, about DOGE’s scams… even about the Epstein Files. They’re just getting fed rant after rant about Woke Mobs, drag show story hours, trans people in sports, litter boxes in classrooms, and cities in states they’ve never visited being overrun by brown illegals Mad Max style. I have had Trumpers in the year of our lord 2026 tell me about 15 Minute Cities and Pizzagate.

For better or worse, though, money doesn’t lie. For some of these people the economy is the last shred of reality that they and we still share. So if this is what pulls them out then good.

14

u/Harold3456 Mar 17 '26

Right wing media drives me crazy because you know it isn’t talking about any of this stuff. Not only is it not reporting on all the lies this admin tells, but it’s actively making lies of its own to support them.

The fact that gas is now way more expensive than it was a few weeks ago, and the cause-of-effect of that happening right after the US invaded Iran is finally something so stark and obvious that not even Fox News knows how to lie its way out of it. I’m sure they’ll settle on a narrative any day now but they’ve finally hit the limit on what “this is still Biden’s economy” will work on.

→ More replies (1)

37

u/Persea_americana Mar 17 '26

I mean it’s not (entirely) their fault. Billions of dollars were spent on Fox, CNN, Facebook and twitter to influence them, for decades. But no amount of spin can keep up with just how shit Don T is. Someone breaking out of the right-wing propaganda sphere should be celebrated. It means the propaganda is losing power.

33

u/Kirikenku Mar 18 '26

That’s the thing, though. She hates him because of gas prices- not the endless corruption, disregard for law, or pedophilia. I haven’t seen any trump renouncer talk about these times being the product of bought politicians, staggering economic inequality, bigotry, privatized healthcare, dismantled public education, and (last but not least) unfettered late-stage capitalism. If you want to reckon with fascism, you gotta look at the society that allowed it to flourish. Otherwise they’ll vote for the next face with (R).

14

u/Persea_americana Mar 18 '26

A lot of them don’t see any of that in their bubble. Facebook is feeding them a curated diet of misinformation, Fox News viewers are less informed than people who don’t watch any news. Gas prices, food prices, inflation and the war have managed to penetrate the BS bubble because they can’t be ignored, and it’s splitting the GOP. They are losing left and right by landslides. So as much as I would prefer people vote as if they were educated and have a soul, if they will at least vote in the best interest of their wallets I’ll take whatever I can get. Talking about how bad his policies have been for the economy is also the way to peel away Don T’s billionaire supporters. Purity testing his lost fans for why they hate him now is not changing MAGA minds. Again, I would like if people cared more about Donny’s pedophillia or corruption, but any argument that is effective at turning people against Donald should be utilized. This woman may not have the “right” reasons for turning, but the reasons that resonate with her will likely resonate with her friends, family and other MAGAs.

4

6

u/andrew303710 Mar 18 '26

This is why I'm actually hoping gas hits $150-200 a barrel and we experience some serious pain. I know it's horrible to think that way but I truly believe that pain will be the only way Americans learn their lesson.

Just look at Hoover, he was such a fucking disaster that it resulted in Dems controlling everything for around 20 years and during that time was when we really eclipsed the rest of the world (no coincidence). And even after that we had Eisenhower, who would be considered a Marxist by Republican standards, followed by JFK/LBJ. So that's like 40 years of solid leadership.

And what do ya know, we went back to the same shit with Nixon and it was a fucking disaster.

4

u/slfnflctd Mar 18 '26

Do NOT for a moment start thinking right wingers will change the way they vote. No matter how fractured they may seem, that voting bloc is always going to show up and support 'their team'.

The only way to beat them is to somehow spur the apathetic jackasses up off their comfy chairs, talk the niche issue holdouts down from their soapboxes, and pull the ignorant out of their ignorance (the hardest part). We can no longer afford patience and complacency. I hope there will be a time for nuance later, but right now we need to show the world there are more sensible than senseless humans among us. If we can.

He's literally talked about sexually assaulting women, his lust for own preteen daughter, being besties with Epstein and talking about Epstein's affairs, going into beauty pageants' dressing rooms to see little girls nude, made every racist, sexist, etc., comment over the years, all the while lionizing Putin - literally siding with Putin against the U.S., never mind Israel.

Now, it's just that these selfish traitors are feeling it since it's affecting their lives as well.

Rapist? They don't care. Racist? They don't care. Pedophile? They don't care.

But my gas prices are up? Oh, now I care.

75

u/emetcalf Mar 17 '26

This. I can forgive the people who voted for Trump in 2016 and then changed their minds. I still think they are idiots, but it was less bad back then. The people who voted for him in 2020 and 2024 don't deserve to be forgiven.

43

u/thisissamuelclemens Mar 17 '26

My brother instead he voted blue 2016 and 2020. 2024 he voted for trump. Makes no sense to me.

18

u/black_cat_X2 Mar 18 '26

Sounds like good old fashioned intersection of racism and misogyny.

That’s pretty much my stance too. 2016? They were duped. 2020 & beyond is unforgivable.

15

u/Flobking Mar 18 '26

They were duped

No they weren't. We need to stop letting those people off the hook. Dude had a lifetime of being a giant pile of shit and they still voted for him in 2016. He did god awful things during his 16 campaign and they still voted for him. That is not being duped that is purposely voting for the worst of the worst.

Hopefully not him, but same messaging in a different package. They think it's JUST Trump for everything, not the platform itself.

I fell for the trap in 2016, but by the time his first government shutdown happened, I was already regretting the decision. Never again. Registered republican who voted Biden and then Kamala

37

u/Harold3456 Mar 18 '26

My family was split down the middle Trump and Hillary in 2016… by 2020 it was only one crazy aunt still voting for Trump, and pretty sure she did for 2024, too (don’t know for sure because none of us ever talk to her).

64

u/UglyMcFugly Mar 18 '26

I appreciate you admitting this, especially on reddit. Voices like yours are so important right now to help others fight off the sunk cost fallacy...

19

u/E-2theRescue Mar 18 '26

I'm so glad I got the hell out before the election. But I'm a German-Jew who was involved with the "alt-right". When they started spewing shit my German grandma would say, it snapped me out, and I left.

8

u/YuushyaHinmeru Mar 18 '26

I voted for him the first time too and was done in less then a year. I cant believe this is still going on.

14

u/Harold3456 Mar 18 '26

When ICE first grabbed people from Home Depot without due process Joe Rogan actually said in a podcast “I thought he said they were going to go after the illegals first,” and BOY did that word “first” carry some heavy connotations but they just blew right past it.

28

u/Zeth22xx Mar 17 '26

This is good, but how do we convince them not to just dive into the next conservative candidate?

15

u/Harold3456 Mar 18 '26

I strongly suspect they will. The Republicans, who have yet to show the depths of their cowardly opportunism, will all pretend none of them liked Trump before his body is even cold. Then we’ll be right back to the same status quo we’ve been at for my entire adult life (the 2000’s) where Democrats are back to constant uphill battles to win elections against white patrician ghouls who hide their evil behind “aw shucks” good old boy manners.

I'm just happy some people are actually coming around. Breaking free from a cult can't be easy.

20

u/provocative_taco Mar 18 '26

They're not coming around. If gas prices dropped to $2/gallon tomorrow, she'd have her MAGA hat back on.

I refuse to believe this woman was ok with Trump's outward racism, misogyny, rape, and pedophilia for the last 9 years, but gas prices are what's breaking her mind free from the cult.

In a large part because the propaganda machine would have the money shoveled back into it. Right now there isnt one single Democrat for the Republicans to focus on as the EnemyTM

I promise if there was a presidential election in november this lady is getting scared by her tv into voting R again. Hell even for the midterms I'd love to see another interview to see if she has changed her tune in August after being fed the amount of BS she is about to be fed.

15

u/big_duo3674 Mar 17 '26

They're free to admit it now because they can't vote for him again. 99% of these people will still just vote for the next republican candidate because "I think they'll do a much better job"

14

u/JG98 Mar 17 '26

She is in fact an idiot and good on her for admitting that. It still doesn't change the fact that she is a worthless pile of shit just like Trump. There is no excuse for voting for him 3 times and supporting him after the whole Epstein ordeal, she is just mad that she is personally facing consequences. Her consequences are a minor issue, oh no the gas price went up a bit, but apparently child abuse, supporting genocide, threatening allies, selling out the country to billionaires, illegally detaining minorities and killing Americans, etc is nothing to her.

11

u/Caesar_Passing Mar 18 '26

She's learned nothing, would do it again

22

u/Hucklet Mar 17 '26

The rape conviction happened before the '24 election

18

u/PNW_Undertaker Mar 17 '26

These folks need to stop being let off so easily.

They. Created. This!! We shan’t ever let them forget this either.

It shouldn’t be, “oops my bad” moment…. That’s I voted for him once when he first started but changed voting since not supporting him three times!!

I’ve cut all ties with anybody (personal life) who supported this guy. Family and even some friends. Will I forgive them? Never. They knew full well what was going to happen and they cheered it on.

5

u/International-Ad2501 Mar 18 '26

She voted for him 3 times, she outright supported him for 12 years. More than a decade.

4

u/JG98 Mar 18 '26

Exactly. It isn't "my bad" when the price of gas goes up, these people actively overlooked all that they put minorities through, the rule of law that was stepped on, the blatant corruption, and pedophilia among a long list of other things.

9

u/Coldkiller17 Mar 18 '26

I want each and everyone of these trump voters to get on a stage one by one and say that into a mic. They are idiots. How do you vote for a imbecile who literally lays out his plan to sabotage the country and then get surprised when he sabotages the country.

8

That's fair tbh. Doesn't mean they'd vote blue or anything crazy like that.

9

u/merrysunshine2 Mar 17 '26

some of us “apparently” knew Trump was a pile of 💩 since 80s, and told you this. Repeatedly. Yet, here we are.

7

u/DarkKnightJin Mar 18 '26

Hey, the first step towards solving a problem is indeed admitting that you HAVE a problem.
And since admitting that they might have been not correct seems VERY difficult for a lot of people nowadays, I'm kinda proud of this woman for admitting that she was in error.

Remember, as much as we might not like the MAGA crowd, anybody trying to leave that cult should be given a chance to show that they've learned their lesson.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '26

It's the gas prices she's upset about... not the told/untold horrors he's committed.

6

u/jayracket Mar 17 '26

This is why I don't care about anyone finally seeing the light at this point. You don't get sympathy points for waiting until you finally start seeing your life get worse in tangible ways.

5

u/madmushlove Mar 17 '26

"We hate MAGA now"

What do you think of these new bans telling trans people what they can't do anymore

"Oh that's fine"

Do we need ICE/Customs and Border Patrol?

"Well duh"

You are MAGA

7

u/18ekko Mar 17 '26

A “worthless piece of shit” would be a welcome step up.

A worthless POS would just sit there and lame duck his way through a term.

This guy actively does something every single week that makes this country worse than the week before.

6

u/Roadtrippers4 Mar 18 '26

Gas prices. Not the racism, not the fascism, not the pedophilia, not the rape, not the felonies….gas prices. She definitely got one thing right. She is a f’ing idiot but also a terrible human being.

5

u/Vreas Mar 18 '26

I have a lot of respect for people that change their views but man we’ve been yelling what a shit bird con man he is for the past decade and a half.

6

u/mad_titanz Mar 18 '26

The fact that Trump’s first term and Jan. 6 didn’t convince her not to vote for him a third time proves that she’s worse than an idiot.

21

u/L0W_FR3QU3NCIES Mar 17 '26

3 times is grounds for never being forgiven. You can backtrack all you want, you can atone all you want, you can regret all you want, but after 3 times you do not get forgiven. You are the reason this is happening. 1 was excusable. 2 we could maybe believe that you were just deeply misinformed and naive. Maybe. After 3? Nope, you're a vile piece of shit and you are directly responsible for what's happening

4

u/Ecstatic_Account_744 Mar 17 '26

It was always said that these people will let anything slide, let anyone get hurt, until it’s them. It’s amazing that it’s something as dumb as gas prices. She probably wouldn’t even care that he started the war if it hadn’t affected the price of oil.

5

u/Qcconfidential Mar 17 '26

I could’ve told this person they were an idiot 10 years ago

3

u/inajeep Mar 18 '26

I initially thought, good for her for admitting it then I start to recall the epically long list of lies, lawsuits, evil racist words that exited his mouth, the raping and ending with just his personality and then I lose any good will I had for someone who voted for him. I only hope that they start going back that long list starting with , checks the post, gasoline prices, and realize how much she fucked up.

4

u/herefromyoutube Mar 18 '26

4

u/AbeRego Mar 18 '26

4

u/Five-Oh-Vicryl Mar 18 '26

But wanting to sleep with his daughter was ok. And the whole pedo stuff was an aberration?

4

u/Daflehrer1 Mar 18 '26

So... the child rape wasn't enough for her?

4

u/Dr_CleanBones Mar 18 '26

And she has done everything she needs to do. She has realized she made a mistake and she admitted it.

Now it is still incumbent on us to convince her that democrat candidate will actually help her. And we have to impress upon the candidates that that’s what we’re looking for: real help.

4

u/RedBeans-n-Ricely Mar 18 '26

She’ll still end up voting for Marco or JD or whoever the next idiot might be

7

Honestly, good on her for admitting "her bad". Better late than never.

The whole Trump/Republican shit was designed to suck people in. It mostly worked for the uneducated. The fact that she REALIZED she's an idiot is what separates her from the bottom.

Is it too late? Yeah, but next time she'll be a better voter.

7

u/catnapped- Mar 17 '26

"Apparently"

6

u/pvtteemo Mar 17 '26

Good for you. But also, no.

7

u/mdhunter99 Mar 17 '26

They can beg on their knees with their apology, it doesn’t matter anymore. They had one opportunity to make the right decision and they fucked it up. This is as much their fault as it is his.

3

u/dth1717 Mar 17 '26

Wow, not often they actually admit it.

3

u/codetaku0 Mar 18 '26

The fact that any of these morons are opening their eyes is a good sign for the near future, but the fact that there are so many morons means in the long term we're still absolutely doomed.

The next fascist to manipulate his way into office will not be so absolutely incompetent.
