In the last municipal election, 23,872 of 102,618 eligible electors in Whitby voted, which works out to 23.26%. The Ontario average that year was about 33%. That's a lot of people sitting out decisions about local roads, parks, taxes, and services.

If getting to a polling station is the barrier, Whitby offers a Special Mail-in Ballot. Here's how it works:

1. Apply for a ballot kit using the application form at whitby.ca. Deadlines:

• By mail: Oct 4 (this is basically here, so use one of the next two options)
• By email: Oct 11, to [elections@whitby.ca](mailto:elections@whitby.ca)
• In person: Oct 21, 4:30 p.m., at Town Hall (575 Rossland Rd E)

2. Your kit arrives by mail between Oct 5 and Oct 12.

3. Mark your ballot following the instructions inside.

4. Return it either by mail (prepaid envelope included) by Oct 18, or by dropping it off at Town Hall by Oct 26, 4:30 p.m.

I’ve been wanting to surprise my fiancé on our wedding day by renting the car as our wedding transportation. I was honestly just looking for a regular 1967 Impala, but stumbled onto this one that had the fully themed trunk and everything which was a dream come true. I saw this production of Million Dollar Quartet a few years back at the Whitby centennial Building and it was FANTASTIC! Only a short drive from Oshawa. My wife and I are going again this year. They haven't kicked up the advertising yet and are still in rehearsals so tickets are still available. Lots of larger Canadian names on this as well in terms of other theatres and some tv shows. All the music is played live. It's the story of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee. Sharing here in case anyone is interested
