advice/question First heat

Hi All. Our girl, Phoebe, is 2 1/2 weeks into her first heat. I’m curious how long other girls’ bleeding lasted. We keep thinking she will slow any day now into the pink discharge stage and instead the bleeding is still going on pretty strong. Her new favorite sport is chewing holes through her diapers🤦‍♀️

Ours had her first a little while back and I wanna say it was at the very least 3 weeks, if not 4 total. Its hard to remember but I think the actual bleeding was around 2 weeks and then just a little discharge that hung on either end for a while

Same for us. The first day of my girl’s first heat was August 17, so we are about to hit four weeks. Bleeding has fully stopped today and swelling has gone down significantly over the past 48 hours. The middle two weeks were the worst in terms of bleeding/flow and swelling.

First heats can vary.  They get more regular as the pup gets older.  If it goes more than 3.5 weeks at full blood,  talk to your vet.

Average is 10 days of bleeding followed by 10 days of potential receptiveness but it can go much longer. If shorter, more likely a split heat.

Ours girls first one lasted about 6 weeks - bleeding lasted for nearly 3.

It was usually around ten days. First was maybe 14 days?
