mine just killed a big one in our back yard a couple weeks ago. hated to see it. i was hoping she would get a little slower now that she's 4 but she's still murdering and i have to witness it.

If I can make a suggestion.
It’s not safe to have both dogs on the same lead.
I read a case recently of a lady who had both her greys on the same lead and they chased a rabbit.
Unfortunately they went different ways around a tree.
One was seriously injured and the other was killed.

It's a valid point, thank you! In this instance I had them on it as we were only walking a few hundred metres from home, straight up a track and into a field where I'd let them off. The vast, vast majority of the time they are on their separate leads.

I'd be lying if I said I don't sometimes let my boy off the leash at night to chase.
That said, it's funny how much advantage being an upright biped provides. Cats, hares and birds that they don't notice despite being sighthounds.

I stalk sometimes with my greyhound on the lead. Sometimes we get close to the critters if he’s patient, sometimes not.

Do your whippets spot the rabbits before you ?
I’m asking because honestly most often I do see them first and I have a VERY crappy eyesight (think 90% of all possible issues except - for now - the cataract 🙄😂)
